Thread: *Overwhelmingly votes for the option that I prefer when the update first drops

Hm, if we're going for maximum Hunger exasperation (which we should be), we should try to have two things happen at once, or in quick succession. Kill-Team plus Giant Kaiju can work, especially if we have the kill-team misinterpret the Kaiju attack as an attempt to get rid of them by the dastardly Imperials.

Prestige Classing + Lucent Thorn could also work, have two delayed threats that both hit in a while, hopefully right next to each other. But that runs the risks of Lucent Thorn taking too long and the fights being separated. Also waiting two weeks before anything happens is boooooorrrrrrriiiiiiiiing.

Anyway,

[X] Two
[X] Republic Kill-Joys
[X] Keepin' it Simple

Ring War is another great option, but I think Apocryphal-chan should save that card until it can have maximum impact. And right now Hunger just came out of several power-ups and has nothing really pressing on his plate. Ideally Ring War should be deployed when he's settled down for some kind of long-term goal or has just recently bought something potential-focused (Imperial Praxis maybe?)

Kaju is a classic, but start with a probing attack to feel out the cursed one.

Keepin' it simple kills Aobaru and a sizable chunk of the Soverignity's population, which seems a bit harsh. We can just kill the rotbeast on our way back since it's super weak without the buff.

What the fuck is this? Explain yourself. I found synergy in your post. Do you know what it does to you? It is not healthy and I want you to stop it. Down that path is only [Gamer].
We will talk again when your mother comes back, but you are in big trouble mister.

The Apocryphal Curse sounds like she (?) would get along swimmingly with Primeva, as if we needed more reasons to hate the bloody thing. Anyway, this combination prevents the buildup of any Apocryphal firepower by immediately expending its credibility. We can also play the procs off against each other; the Kill-Joys are after healing and repairs, but everything'll change when the Rotbeast attacks! Surely these intrepid soldiers will fight to save the innocent citizens of the Sovereignty, taking refuge from Imperial tyranny in the Voyaging? If we can save the Sovereignty we'll get more Rank, some picks from the Rotbeast on top of Mizuku, maybe steal an Armor Prototype for Gisena and release that mage they're carting along in the chaos. A true stroke of genius; shame about that risk of collateral damage.

Wait a second. Apocryphal-chan talked about picks and referenced our whole curse of anti-synergy meme. Is it aware of us the thread?!

Oh course she knows us, we're her best friends! We're responsible for the Fishing incident and Moon Temple! It's so nice to have people that help you with your job isn't it?

She's a little sad about that Armament Fish, but Apocryphal-chan still thinks we can be friends. She's letting us weigh in on this after all!

I don't care what we pick, but I really want to kick Bearic's face in one last time.
Aside from what was also mentioned about us being able to do it regardless since he's going to attack in roughly two weeks anyway, the whole point people dove into the Temple was to outscale him. A bit disheartening if the entire adventure's completion of that goal was undone.

Taking both Republic Kill-joys and Keepin' it Simple is going to absolutely devastate the Sovereignty and ruin the popularity rank pipeline that people who were voting Gleam were counting on.

It looks like screwing over the Sovereignty is winning right now, but have you considered the psychological impacts on Hunger himself? Not to mention poor Aeira, or Letrizia for whom many of her friends will invariably die if Hunger is unable to contain the chaos and devastation... the damage to Hunger's mental-state could far outweigh the physical risk. On the other hand, Ber can be outscaled, Lucent Thorn outrun, and there's always Waiting as well!

Alternatively, have you considered Rotbeast + One? That's only a 3.5 pick fight in terms of difficulty, not the worst thing you've ever encountered! Still risky, but you'd be one and done instead of dealing with colliding disasters that can turn on a dime.

[X] Lucent Thorn

So, first I want to say that I fully support the prevailing plan. It gets us artifact, heroism, maybe even rank and seeing as we may have just took the Gleam, rank is great. Speaking of which won?

Anyways I have to vote for the Lucent Thorn because the idea of a legendary sword trying its best to find a proper wielder in time to makes its way towards us and stop our reign of terror (warning: terror not included, please purchase at your closest department store) but having to put up with not quite heroes until then slow but surely inching closer because it knows it is the only one that can stop us to be plain adorable and I think it would be funny to read. Just imagine this sword and its wielder popping up out of nowhere filled with unjustified resentment from all of the misadventures it took to get there only to learn the Hunger is actually a pretty okay dude and generally falls of the side that saves if he can help it.

Hmm. Why would rotbeast + One be safer? The Republic team don't seem to be attacking the Sovereignty...

We're playing as Apocryphal-chan this update though. And colliding disasters does sound interesting! Isn't that literally her job?

Indeed, considering you guys bought Triumphal Gleam, are you now going to let the Apocryphal Curse devastate the very populace you're using for Rank gains? That's some epic anti-synergy there, playing right into Apocryphal's hands!

[X] Two
[X] Wait and Hope
[X] Ring War

Think this will throw the biggest wrench in Hunger's plans - force him into the complexities of the Human Sphere with a Ring War, potentially even ruining his build if he has to take Ruling Ring, then use the saved up event to divest him of his allies that keep him comfortable and safe. A nice little tragic combination to keep things interesting!

One + Republic Kill Joys might be a better way to maintain Mizuku's life long enough to recover the 2 Arete spent on Diplomacy

those sound like concerns for Hunger; something so easily solved surely isn't the most interesting option!

Ring War requires One, (un)fortunately.

No, just no. What? You need more than that to be convinced you say? You really want even more interesting times? This thing is "spawn a 6 pick fight with no warning on top us" spicy level of interesting times. Fuck that noise and you too if you pick this.

[ ] Republic Kill-Joys
We have Hero-Defeating Stance to reduce their Rank and bonuses for outnumbering us. On the other hand civilian casualties are going to be extremely high. But hey who cares right? We have Triumphal Gleam to brainwash the masses! They will even praise us and give free Rank for saving them with the trouble our Apocryphal Curse brought in!

[ ] Prestige Classing
Screw you Bearic I'm not giving you any sort of power up to make yourself relevant again. To outscale this guy plus whatever shenanigans and allies he makes with Prestige Classing, we have to go on a Temple of the False Moon level of risk taking again. Your not worth it gamer.

[ ] Keepin' it Simple
A simple stupid Kaiju. Or at least not as smart as us so pratically the same situation like when we encountered the Tiller Wurm. Thank God for the Power of Ruin.

I can never stand this type of self-righteous characters. Oh and they are powered by hope and friendship just great. A far off threat, its arrival can coincide the activation of another Apocrphal proc and empower that one too. Its just like the previous Ber situation where we are frantically trying to obtain power to at the very least try and have a good chance of surviving. And these one is aiming for our teammates!

Okay so a confirmation that one of the rings are in the Human Sphere. I don't like the implication of having to rush and defeat this guy without prior preparations and power ups while he got his. And that is not to say that his defeat means the Ring War ends.

Changing it so the Kaiju is the one mitigated more.

We must train to fight the continent fish. A kaiju will be a good warm up. And it'll give us a 4 pick to power up for FISHING.
I was going to get on the one-two punch train, but this sways me.

Hmm... maybe we SHOULD try for two enemies. It'll be a better workout that way.

This gives us a (relatively) weakened Rotbeast, which we can use to gain picks to outscale a (relatively) weakened Ber. It's almost synergistic!

>Triumphal Gleam
>Diplomacy

>Option which minimizes Gleam bonuses
>Also negates the diplomacy that was voted for

On the upside, its an in character decision for the Apocryphal curse, so hey, makes sense at least.
