I don't love tying the idea of rule to Blood
It's not just blood when being spilled, but also the blood in all life. Without life, what meaning is there in rule? Crimson knows this well, which is why he is the best Ruling Ring. (This is racist against robots, but I won't say that because I'm trying to argue here. Shh.)

Assault Halo with All Defeating Stance leads to a 6 point attribute boost to all stats(Edit: Closer to 6.5). If we somehow got Philosopher's Wreath after that... 1100% Base Training Effectiveness boost and Edeldross Singularity. 11*1.3 = 14.3, so in practice it'd be close to 1430 percent.

The question afterwards though is how deep does the rabbit hole go? Would we get more out of the singularity with Silver of Evening?

Just Shoot Him.

Anyways, I think an Evening Sky EFB is next so that we can get Trinity, and I think that Silver of Evening is the better of the two. Doubling our Agi is nuts, and if we're committed to Edeldross than full Grace upgrades are p good.

I still like Pillars the most, but I'd prioritize getting Trinity -> Ruling Ring/World Defeating, so a bigger discount is better.

Effective Rank 7 social abilities in the domains of lordship, nobility, conquest, serendipity, and rule. I don't love tying the idea of rule to Blood, but this would be a way to keep up with Gisena the cognito-hazard in the short-term

It's only of those themes in a social context, but yeah, Ring-Lord is ridiculous. But they're all ridiculous in their own ways. Increasing the sheer power of All-Defeating Stance by an additional 1/3rd... Holy Shit.

[X] The Ring of Power: Ring-Lord

I...fel like this is decent? Sten will have to live the rest of his days taking care of his people, making up for the torture that he inflicted by helping them.

But yeah, i'm...really not fond with this degree of mind-fuckery, and am really, really happy that it was knife that ultimately won.

Ring-Lord feels very powerul. Giving us power over ruleship and +2 rank in doing it? Feels very useful with our eventual, and future, tasks.

Put an end to him. It gives us points with the ring and I would rather not make a habit of enslaving those who stand in our way. As for the options the evening sky picks are obviously the strongest and star of grace makes our Edeldross stronger which I like. If we SAVE enough we could get it within the week.

So, we have ~4 Arete IIRC. If we pick either Evening Sky choice, we'll be halfway to another EFB, one that will also unlock Trinity, getting us even more value. I don't think it's possible to justify Assault Halo or Ring-Lord in the face of that, despite Ring-Lord being really good.

Anyway, going with Star of Grace for now, I just love the synergy of doubled charisma with our charisma being added to Protection. It's massive social and massive defense, plus massive Agility and great Edeldross benefits.

Fuck it. On this wretched day I stand with MAEG gang. Wanted Pillars first but such is life.

I'm weak, can't even hold on to a vote for an hour! Trinity beckons, and Silver is shiny.

Peeps, we already basically put 25 Arete towards enhancing Chief Dominion; why speculate about eventual A-DS synergies when we can enhance an EFB right now! Rulership, nobility, etc. Are all very relevant conceps both right now and in the context of conquering the Human Sphere!

I also really don't want to keep pushing back Pillars considering how good it would be for us. Never need to worry about picks ever again! Just gring in the Heavenly realm. Its' an amazing long-term option and we kind of should at least pick one of those.

Enough is enough.

Making pseudo-graces into actual graces is... beyond ridiculous.

Even right now Assault Halo is amazing for your immediate power. Its eventual synergy with All-Defeating Stance is just icing on the cake!

6.5x Power of ruin against everything as well and the magic defense is not bad. I think all of the choices are good so I will not be salty for anything winning

Yeah. Each reward is incredibly potent with the right build.

Ring-Lord feels very powerul. Giving us power over ruleship and +2 rank in doing it? Feels very useful with our eventual, and future, tasks.

Ring Lord is incredibly potent, but it offers power in the social venue and not the physical. Something to consider as there are always enemies one cannot simply talk down, such as mindless foes or foes you don't know how to communicate with.

It's definitely got higher immediate power, but is perhaps not as versatile or useful in the long-term as Heavenly Tomb. Imagine deployed Versch from your inventory, or eventually even an entire battle station? And to acquire such an ability from clearing the Temple of the False Moon?

"That's no moon" indeed.

I think it's best to put Sten aside. Morally it's pretty bad to shatter someone like this and then kill them, keeping them alive doesn't seem all that much nicer, either. These moral quandries fall kind of flat considering how many Hunger killed directly and indirectly in his quest here. As a society they were guilty, and as individuals guilt varied. I'm not ultimately troubled by these considerations in this choice, as I see good arguments either way. Do remember, we are in this for Vengeance, and this is not the first rapacious conquest that Hunger will perform.

[X] His People Need Him
On the other hand, death eliminates the possibility of healing quite thoroughly. Not for Sten, mind you, but for his people. Why not put him to work, have him start the efforts to build something new out of the ashes? If we are troubled by the people we displaced and killed, both directly and indirectly, then it seems wrong to take such an asset from them for petty reasons. The eons that Hunger faces during his indenture make a joke of the duration of Sten's sins. So instead of calling it done, take him in hand and let him continue.

If I'm suggesting this kind of approach, then blood follows.
[X] The Ring of Power: Ring-Lord
Don't forget why we're here.

Because in all reasonable portents we'll end up with high rank there anyway. The +2 would be useful, yes, but... How useful?

[X] An End to Misery

I am very strongly against the idea of keeping Sten around as some kind of tortured and mentally mutilated puppet. The very idea seems incredibly disgusting and seems like it would signal that our protagonist is totally abandoning his moral principles as the Hero in exchange from some kind of twisted utilitarianism or outright descent in horror fetishism.

The central moral that has justified Hunger's destruction of the Temple Civilization and rescue of the Ring is that is wrong to keep a being trapped in torture no matter the benefits that can be reaped. It would rather undermine this moral if Hunger pursued a path that caused him to keep Sten in an analogous state under the justification that it provides benefits that can help the survivors of the Temple.

I also think that all of the great interactions that Hunger has with his companions would be ruined if Sten is alongside them. The presence of a man broken by torture and kept alive only so that his broken shell can serve as a puppet would rather ruin the flirtatious and relaxed atmosphere that we have all come to enjoy.

[X] The Ring of Power: Ring-Lord

I would really like to see how the acquisition of tremendous social powers will shape the progression of this quest. It seems like this would be the perfect catalyst needed to begin a transition from the wandering Murder Hobo portion of the Hero's Journey to the Universal Conqueror portion.

I also really enjoy the idea of turning deception into reality. This seems like it would be a perfect ending to the story of the Azure Rings imprisonment and rescue.

The thing is though that it was mentioned in the pillars description that it was most useful in mid-late game. We are still very much in the early game. Pillars at the moment isn't efficient. The Arete would be better spent to immediate survival which star of grace offers.
