To bite the bait or not to bite the bait, that is the question. I think we're in need of a

[X] Vacation
[X] Fierce Quickening

but Slack Off is a bit too intense for my tastes. What if our Uttermost boy bests Nameless at it?! I also want dem sidequests, we haven't done much to explore the world so far, other than zero in on the most dangerous thing in the vicinity. We'll S A V E Arete, rebuild ourselves, and come back for the Temple as a brand-new Hunger, now only half as suicidal.

Come on guys how can we decide to do anything other than our uttermost. what could possibly go wrong?
 
Oof, I just realized.

With the 4Bear's blade more or less back to full capacity, we've more or less soft-locked ourselves out of Ruinous Valor: Einhander. Picking that means we will "conditionally never" be able to properly wield the full might of our main murderstick.

I mean, we'd pretty much never take one-arm Valor. 5 Con is whatever and no one cares about yet another thing we can spend our Arete on. Einhander was dead for quite some time now.

As for Styles, they still cost 7 Arete a pop so who cares lol. We'll likely get Valor at some point for Str scaling, but we'd likely get 3x Quickening first.

Lack of +Arete option hurts, but it's nigh time we fixed Verse and allowed Letrizia to become productive member of the party. I'm sure she will appreciate having some use in fights rather than being protected all the time too.

It may be wise to take Hero-Defeating Stance before your need for it is dire...

That's still a +Rank option, even if by proxy, and it finally advances the Ring path we're supposed to spend our Arete on. Not a fan of forgoing Tyrant mitigation, but I guess I'll live with it. Who knows, maybe in the future we'll cut through that limit as well?

I would like to raise the idea that the best way to argue for slacking off is, unironically, slacking off from trying to argue for it outside of vote posting.

We must do our Uttermost to chill the fuck out, really.
 
Whew, I was just thinking back. If we'd taken the scenic route timeline wise we'd still be on our way right now, crazy how much things can change at Progression speeds.

Even though I imagine it would be pointless the idea of subbing Gisena in at the fishing competition is pretty amusing to me. She was already our second last time, now she can step up to the primetime and show the world the results of her training while Coach Hunger offers directions!

But nah, that would probably just annoy Hunger. I'm coming around to healing Verschle though, this is a pretty opportune moment for it honestly.

Yes, it wasn't much in quest time, but it was ~20 chapters back, almost half of their overall number.

Guys, is this the kind of fishing you want to have? Always the thrill, always the rush, always the chase? Never the silences in between, the moment of rest, the simple joy? Right now, we are characterizing what fishing means for Hunger. I want fishing to be a Vacation or a way to Slack Off, not a competition.

Fishing was a way for Hunger to forget the atrocities of the campaign. I want to reinforce that, instead of competitive fishing.

Rihaku always knows how to get my inspiration going-- let's call this one, "I want to fish in peace"

 
Is it truly Fishing if you don't know with absolute certainty you're the best and prove it beyond the shadow of doubt?
(Like, we didn't need to catch a King Fish if all we wanted to do was fish in peace)
 
Hm, the action vote is very close, but it looks like almost everyone wants to buy Dominion... but this would actually be useless in a substantial fraction of the winning actions, whereas something like Vigor Itself would always be relevant! Might + Charisma is such a great combination! It doesn't even cost any Arete!
