If you guys want a break from the Temple, Vacation could be pretty nice! You could potentially earn more time for Arete generation by taking sidequests! Time is Arete!

Fishing's pretty dangerous, I gotta say. Sometimes you do need to go hard... Is this one of them?
 
Passion seems strictly worse than War in most scenarios, now that we don't have Form of Rage anymore. Not that we know what form of rage was actually like, though.

Now, here me out.
It could be that fishing gives two different good mechanical rewards and is mentioned to actually be dangerous because it actually involves some degree danger. As in, it's literal bait and people are falling for it, doing exactly what people feared the thread would do and take a strenuous option immediately after being crippled.

I'll bandwagon against fishing and get some rank-equivalent without spending any Arete while we save for Ruling Ring. Happy to change my vote on this one
 
Hmm, I really don't think there's much risk from the adventurer's, but between it being his passion (plus the precedent) and taking Uttermost, he might actually fuck himself up in pursuit of the mightiest catch. I didn't think so at first considering even normal outriders aren't sufficient to aggravate his condition... but now I'm a bit concerned the Temple might have something strong enough released from its stocks or something. The fact its an official event is a bit suspicious.
 
The more Arete which is offered, the more diffucult the problem it comes with. Do we really need another complication? At this rate Hunger will enter a death spiral. If your really want power in the meantime Healing Verschlengorge and Vacation is more reasonable and we have not only the mech but also Gisena.

Yeah but normal outriders get like, two-shotted now. And that's only because the first attack is a feint! This Fish of legend, on the other hand...
 
A bit tired of the fishing memes; I'm kind of warming up Letrizia; would rather not proc Tyrant on accident.

Although... there is an argument to be made about proccing Tyrant on purpose in a relatively-risk free environment, and Hunger does estimate that proccing Tyrant in the Encampment isn't very risky...

Bah. I'm rationalizing post-hoc for the purpose of memes. Give me the Mech.

I'm not particularly attached to visiting the Encampment, any of the time spending options look enjoyable. It's just that most protagonist's in this quest have a Thing we can look back on as their defining quirk, and an insane love of fishing seems like a funny trait for Hunger to have.

It's risky, but I'm skeptical that any fish we encounter will be more powerful than the inner residents of the temple.

As for how badly we've been weakened...

Reading these two, and adding in the healing ability of the ring... it's a bit ambiguous.

-What counts as strenuous exertion to a man with the strength of two hundred men?
-If we "fight through damage" does that cause us to "Suffer severe damage"?
-What is severe damage? Normally I'd count eye loss as severe damage, but apparently we can casually heal that? Does the meaning of severe change based on our healing capability?

So it would be helpful if you clarified. Or don't clarify and we can find out the hard way, that works too.

If you guys are going into town or on vacation, Vigor Itself or Exalted Spirit are good picks. Note that Exalted Spirit's ability to buff Gisena is undiminished... Since you didn't take +Rank, Fierce Quickening would be good as well. You have access to the Blood Advancements, why not take them?

Null Slice, while expensive, is also a great way to get a versatile potential-type Advancement without requiring you to store lots of Arete unused. It's almost comparable to Gardener's Hallow in terms of eventual applications!
 
I wonder if we'll come across any Huntress' moon targets when we breach the Inner layer, I'm a bit surprised non appeared yet, but that's probably because all we've found are ultimately underlings at this point.

Curious as to where the financial hits are coming from for her house, maybe they needed to pay out massive bribes/counter-bribes to other nobles that were wavering from the Emperor's inducements?

While the fifth precept of Sword Mastery in Meti's Sword Manual from Kill Six Billion Demons is lost to us, I am finding myself semi-tempted by Null Slice. If we somehow reach 6 or 7 Arete I may vote for it. Since Uttermost won and people want to Divide Infinity with the Blade of Want so badly, lets get started on the road to doing that.

1. YISUN's glory is great, and you may know this by two paths, the sanctioned words, and the sanctioned action.
2. The sanctioned words are YS ATN VARAMA PRESH. The meaning of these words is YISUN and their attainment is Royalty.
3. The sanctioned action is to Cut.
4. To Cut means division by the blade of Want, that parer of potentials that excises infinities.
 
for the record I do not expect to be able to resist voting for the biggest baddest fishing option
