The bonuses to Rank and strength are nice, but Establishment doesn't help with the Temple at all and it nerfs our agility, which we just spent 2 Arete upgrading.

That's way too high. Extrememly dangerous beasts aren't very likely to kill us so maybe 5% from them, epicly dangerous are likely so maybe between 33% to 50% like the sword vote. Plus 5% flat chance of death. So somewhere around 18% chance of death at worst for the exceedingly scenic route most of which can be mitigated by thread discussion and tactics.I would guess that it's something like 15-50% aggregate chance of death, under the assumption that epically dangerous beasts are 50-100% death based on strategies, multiple dangerous could either be relatively easy (tough, but close enough to no chance of death) or even worse than epically dangerous, in which case it'd probably be something from 75-100% death, and extremely dangerous is tough, but close enough to no chance of death. Not strictly speaking suicide, but not exactly the kind of thing I want to take.

We'd be able to fight anything attracted during the interim with the three of us together plus a giant mecha, and if something could get past that then they'd be dead without us. Plus we'd have a 10% bonus until it actually kicks us out, if I'm understanding it right?

Anyway, the Exceptionally/Extremely/Epic Scenic Route is more dangerous than the Temple itself, it has Extreme Risk where the Temple has Very High Risk.

Hm, with this line of argument I thought you'd pick Conservative! Letrizia by herself against astral monsters for several hours is pretty likely to end with either major damage to Verschlengorge or its destruction and therefore her death, without either repairs or a bodyguard to aid her!
"Scenic" is a trip for a better class of dungeoneer it seems. We'll have to take a more pedestrian path. Scenic simply feels so slow, it's longer than we've been in world so far, but with only mediocre gains unless we roll well. It would mean we'd need even more out of the Temple to recoup our time investment if we want to keep up in the arms race. How risky leaving Letrizia alone is really depends on how long the dungeon is, which isn't really something we can know beforehand...
I'm fond of Ruinous Valor, since it's an apt description of our decision-making process! That plus Pitiless Maw would improve our survivability and offense, especially with the Einhander form boosting constitution.If you want to keep everyone safe, the best bet is (short of generating 15+ Arete before you reach the Temple) taking Conservative and spending at least 7 Arete on some means of immediate power during the intervening monster fights. 7 + 2 multiple times if you can afford it, or two synergistic 7s maybe!
