Looking at the current votes seem like repose and thieves have a modest lead, they work together decently well, trustworthy enough also helps to set the stage for a Gisena filter to keep us from tanking relations meaning we might be able to utilize the increased charisma and sleep boosts to best effect.

But if Gisena is doing all the talking anyway, what's the value of the extra Charisma? Just to talk to her!?

[X] Keep Your Distance - You know too little at this juncture. Best to prepare countermeasures if you can. [Gain Null Resistance - Your magic can't be reduced below 30% by any source]
[X] Hunger - Feast of Lives

Being able to shut down opponents' magic while still having a significant fraction of ours is insanely powerful. Hunger is both curse mitigation (incredinly valuable) and healing.

[X] Trustworthy Enough
[X] Sword That Was Stolen - Thick As Thieves
[X] Forebear's Blade - Echo of the Forebear
[X] Forebear's Blade - Fell-Handed Stroke

@Conjured Blade Would you like one veto in case I call upon you for something you dislike?

We just need to sleep for 9 hours, something we need to do anyway.

It locks us into an uninterrupted 9 hour stretch though, or else we only get a lesser faction of the benefit due to inefficiencies. It could be that's a trivial restraint but we don't know that and I see a decent spread of possibile worlds where it's difficult to portion away that much time straight. Meanwhile the concern about access to meat seems a lot more reliable to source here based on the information we currently have.

Hey I'm not in love with it by any means, it does have some value though, it means we can better lead conversations such they don't trip our red lines when we are forced to talk to outsiders which is almost certain to come up if we try a civ based strat.

Can't think of a world where we'd have access to prodigious amounts of meat but not enough time to sleep. If we don't have either, Feast's drawback is worse.

I also wouldn't bet on monster flesh being edible. Maybe later when we're more powerful, but not right now. Meat is generally expensive in medieval societies anyway; you can't say it would be less of a burden, and a place to sleep is generally way easier to find than large amounts of meat. Might just seems way more reliable.

Couple differences to note about this Gisena: her eyes are blue rather than green and she can apparently perceive something of our Curses. The original couldn't, took Seram for a Sorceress' puppet on her resurrection. Not totally clear what this means, if anything? Eye color could just be a continuity error, it's not like this is Marked for Death. She did also have the presence of mind to try and nuke Jotarun, which speaks well of her conviction. We may have gotten a better version, but I swear to god if another protagonist loses a Remittance to this woman...

Is it really worth taking mental contamination just for the +Int, then?

Both eating and sleeping carry significant logistical concerns! The hero could avoid such burdens altogether and became Unshattered? Or, less extreme, take a triple Forebear Blade build for convenient power without sleep or food!

I feel people would argue more against the contamination if they had more attachment to the hero, as is he's still mostly a blank slate to voters, so we don't really feel like we're destroying a beloved icon by doing so.

We should have seen some animals in the city if they exist considering this is a medieval level tech, if we did that means we'll be able to trivially supply ourselves with meat considering we can hunt them down at mach speeds and only need 4x a normal amount, it'll take time but we can guarantee ourselves a supply.

We can't however say that the affinity we feel for the mech doesn't mean we're potentially broadcasting an IFF that will lead the bio beasts to constantly harass us at random intervals. If we'd been here for even a day we'd have had a much better idea of what our immediate future would likely hold and could make decisions with better grounding, since we didn't I prefer not to assume we'll be able to plan to budget long stretches of our time as we please.

The beasts could have totaled the countryside to capture biomatter; it's not like the narration mentions any other animals. Not to mention that if those beasts had the hypothetical ability you suppose they have, going out hunting would also carry great risk and it would be much safer to just stay inside and sleep before we make any big moves.

...Unshattered literally costs us To Shatter Heaven. Nice, just picked up on that pun. Index is also up to date.

For people who didn't follow the original AST, To Shatter Heaven's a 400% increase in training rate & ability to break conceptual limits for our Remittance baked into the King's Scepter this time around. We picked the build that gave us initial safety, no need to torpedo our long-term growth and render our maiming permanent just to snag some more.

I've got one more marker on offer for vote switching to

[] Trustworthy Enough
[] Sword That Was Stolen - Thick As Thieves
[] Forebear's Blade - Echo of the Forebear
[] Forebear's Blade - Fell-Handed Stroke

Tag me and switch to get it. 1 Veto per marker, markers called in will be prioritized on a first come first serve basis.

If there's no biomatter then there's no other food regardless so taking it or not means we still starve.

That specific case is just one example to make the point, it could be in this world the dead don't rest and ghosts will mess with you when night falls. The issue is baking in budgeting over 1/3 of our day uninterrupted for the foreseeable future is too big a commitment to make in my view before we have some grounding on how things are likely to proceed. As I've said previously if there was a huge difference in value between the choices it would still be worth it, but since it's competitive anyway I don't see the need to take the risk.

@Conjured Blade not technically switching but I'll take you up on that. It's a good combo anyway. Just so long as nobody steals the fucking sword, we don't lose the int/cha/might/etc in that case, right?

Stealing the Sword necessitates a forbidden technique that itself requires knowledge of Accretion. However given Rihaku's remarks...

I feel like if I start giving any details about the wife then waifuism will start to grip the thread and it'll disrupt the vote. She'd have a unique Soul Evocation if Seven Seals is picked as well, the only system with broadly available commonalities is Battle Magic. While I don't think...
While I don't think Accretion is quite as convenient or powerful as its supporters may espouse, the primary benefit is not the 2-3 utility tricks but rather the increased metaphysical potency when hero and object are united. In White Wolf terms, it'd be comparable to raising your Essence / Arete / Blood Potency / Gnosis in a world where most people have a value of 1 or 0 in that stat. Your shit works well on them, their shit doesn't work well on you, even if on face it's numerically superior, and you have access to effects that just trump them in certain situations.

It's plausible that if somebody somehow manages to pull it off we'd lose it. Of course, all the powers are Artifact/Ring linked so there's no way around this stuff no matter what you vote for.

To deny you Hunger they'd have to cut off your fingers or something! What dark lord has anything to fear from something like that!?

We still need to sleep, dude. It's not like we would have that time otherwise. We can't even even train productively if we wanted to use those 9 hours in a safe way. The risk is basically what, that we would instead take several power naps a day for the foreseeable future? That's kind of ridiculous. I can also make up any scenario in which we lack meat but not sleep, you know? Hell, even something realistic where we are fighting a campaign with limited rations but plenty of time due to having to wait; either because of a siege or because we have to defend someplace or even just as a preparation for a heavy assault. Taking Repose is way safer than taking Feast.

Gotcha, no use being paralyzed with fear after picking this playstyle, just something to keep an eye out for when it starts raining nemeses. Ring's locked on the finger anyway. Hit me up if you change your vote so I can adjust.

Or I could not be a dumbass on the level of my avatar and do this.

Not having time for proper meals is also very common for people in crunch time. See? It's still valid. We aren't even penalized for not sleeping, we just don't get the bonuses.

Except we can gorge ourselves in a fraction of the time, and it doesn't need to be continuously budgeted either. Hero should also be able to super-speed eating if he really needs to.

Even if you really believe they both possess the same risk level that doesn't really help assuage any of my concern about repose, it just means go for echo and fell.

Not only did she indirectly trigger Seram's bishounen transformation, he had to wade through build vote hell to become one. I'll never forgive Gisena for that.

For the tally to count it properly it needs to be formatted as Thick As Thieves x3. Otherwise this is the perfect build, the true destined path. Talk about living up to your name!
