I honestly think Repose is one of our worst options here; with Progression we already have strong scaling and unlimited potential. We're far better suited by immediate and less conditional power ups.
Might offers a "significant" buff to our stats, which is arguably more relevant for general combat purposes than regen is. In addition, Might gives us scaling mental stats, glory and wisdom specifically, which is not something we can get easily, but is something that is of supreme importance for a ruler we want to be.

Besides, arguing about lack of immediate power while picking Feast/Thieves is the very definition of throwing stones inside a glass house lol.

Having seen Rihaku's commentary about Balanced Builds, switching to this for the moment.

I love the idea of a permanent minimum to our power. Can always acquire our companion later

Feast/Thieves doesn't give martial power but it's still a potent power up. We'll deal with the mech pilot and Gisena more skillfully and be well positioned to jump into lots of fights.

Voting this way doesn't work. Do it like this.

[] Forebear's Blade - Echo of the Forebear x2
[] Forebear's Blade - Echo of the Forebear x3

[X] Trustworthy Enough
[X] Hunger - Feast of Lives.
[X] Forebear's Blade - Fell-Handed Stroke

Might's Repose is very good, but I think the mitigation of Decimator from Feast may be more valuable overall, and feast has nice supplemental perks as well.
Unshattered would be bad at two points and is worse at three. We just picked scepter and have a fifty year minimum quest duration, sacrificing long term potential for short term power is not a thing we need to do right now.

Interesting! No one is concerned about the +Heartlessnes and Forebear contamination from taking one Thick as Thieves, eh? How bad could it possibly be!?

How cool that Repose and Feast are almost tied. Which is the mightier visceral pleasure...

Think though we take a hit to our relationship short term long term it will help us fight by Gisena if we have some resistance to her ability.

It's true that she can't use her Tides of Nullity Grace indiscriminately while you're around, only able to unleash it in directions you're not or rely on her bolt attack. Get your Null Resistance high enough and you're basically looking at an asymmetric antimagic field situation!

Hm... from a certain point of view, triple Thick as Thieves and Unshattered provide the most immediate utility, since character interactions will likely comprise your immediate actions! Though there are downsides to Thick as Thieves' influence as well. Too bad Unshattered has fallen off after its strong start. Don't you guys want to skip the early game and get right in the thick of it!?

[X] Trustworthy Enough
[X] Sword That Was Stolen - Thick As Thieves
[X] Hunger - Might's Repose

Repose for a timesink and immortality since Hunger makes training useless and we are not going to get relevant fights all the time even if we decided to spend all the time seeking them out. Plus min-cost is just +1 hour.
Charisma and Intelligence are quite useful considering our limited normal social capability with Tyrant.
Feast of Lives was tempting, but I'm not sure it would be worth it considering fights with multiple relevant targets may not occur too often.

Do we really want that contamination from thick as thieves? The Accursed warned us against becoming what we hate. And we are letting our mind get influenced by an old probably evil tyrant at the first chance...

I really gotta start editing these.

Yeah, I think Fell-Handed Stroke is being slept on at the moment. It provides a very substantial improvement to your total burst power, which can be critical in a lot of situations. Even moreso if Gisena's not around or the fight's not safe for her to approach.

Ironically, the genre that taught me the value of life saving treasures and techniques is the same one we didn't bother to use either for. Thanks anyway xianxia.

The mech itself is well above steampunk level. The armor plates and machining are too advanced for that.

Now I'm really curious what kind of weird unobtanium this stuff runs on and what that combustion is even fueling. Really glad we took Gisena along with us.

Odyssial was Heartlessness 10 and the Accursed arranges for unspeakably horrible things to happen to his enemies. Sure, he's got good reasons in both cases but he's clearly not above a bit of ruthlessness in pursuit of his goals.

It's tempting, for sure. Ultimately, our mind is final arbiter of how useful our numerous abilities are, so being more efficient has huge value regardless of path we choose take.

Then again, it can be argued that even a bit of heartlessness in a Progression Cursebearer would scale to infinite amount of evil..

[X] Forebear's Blade - Fell-Handed Stroke
[X] Forebear's Blade - Echo of the Forebear

I was tempted by eat and sleep, but ultimately I decided that raw power is what we want in this situation, and I dislike Unshattered hurting our growth rate. Also antimagic resist sounds good.

Admittedly, this build is weak in social, which is an issue. I can see why people vote for Thick as Thieves, but I'm not a fan of that mental contamination.

Last vote: Charisma is a waste because of Tyrant, we have Gisena to social for us.
This vote: Look how good Thick as Thieves is, it has Charisma that will be good for Tyrant!

You guys are obsessed with Intelligence, I guess that will come in handle when the next Kaiju wants to play Chess. Like Ozymandias himself, we can be the smartest man on the cinder!

We're at the point where we can build a good physical baseline to improve our scaling later. Then once we are getting to the point where we can tussle with Kaiju and Robots we consider intelligence. It's a luxury, survival comes first!

Personally, I think that any amount of mental corruption of the hero, whom is already in a not exactly great mental state, is a terrible idea.

And in the argument of Unshattered, as Seram proved in the past, immediate power for an progression type curse-bearer is very useful, especially when you take hunger into consideration. This means that we can fight stronger enemies, to gain more power, to progress that much faster...

Yes, being crippled is awful, but as someone said previously, these kinds of disadvantages are only valid if we are facing an equal, which...is really rare in a Rihaku quest, to be honest.

You have a good amount of saved up progress from Lesser Remittance carryover so we may be able to get to a fast consolidation with 4 picks tonight if there's steady discussion. You're not very far from the fourth pick.

I honestly don't know what you mean.

Basically, periodically, anything with the slightest chance to go wrong for us will go wrong. We cursed ourselves to have the luck of Harry Dresden, a life of interesting times and endless war against nemeses scaled to our power level. When we have territory, there will be an alien invasion by someone who can compete with us or has a way to nullify our powers, or an outbreak of a fantastic analogue to Coronavirus, or something, whichever would make our life most difficult at the time.

Mhm, every option could use some Echo in their life. I guess this would make Distance a bit more popular too..

Anyone who has ever played MtG knows the value of asymmetric effects!

Both players discard their hands and draw 7. Except you don't get to draw more than 1 card a turn, so I refill my hand and you discard yours. It's the best of both worlds. Do the titans of this world stand a chance versus us if we harness this might?
