Warcraft: The Gurubashi Restoration

It takes 2 Turns to purge the Kobolds. If we wait and take it another turn, thats 5/6 more months that the Hakkari have to prepare, Its gunna take an Action to send our forces into Black Marsh regardless, so we can do the Armor Up the same turn since it only takes 1 Turn.

I'm well aware of how the Tattoos work, Zul'jo knows how the Tattoos work, he's asking for them anyway because he thinks this fight is that important. I'll trust him to only activate them in a emergency, and with the Loa's Blessing on the action, it has a 85% chance of the tattoos being inscribed correctly.
We'd also be preparing for the Hakkari during those extra 5/6 more months. And our home territory has a resource advantage.
The gamble is how much they've glutted Hakkar on sacrifices.

Zul'jo knows what the Tattoos do yes. And he wants the Tattoos because he trusts Jojo to not fuck up the Tattoos.
This does not mean Zul'jo recognizes the opportunity cost of Golems vs Tattoos or has a clear Cost/Benefit overview of Tattoos vs Golems. Because Zul'jo is not a Witch Doctor.
And again, Golems>Training if it comes down to it. Get some heavies to tank for Jojo so the Witch Doctor can work more of his magic.
No, we should rush forwards. If we delay, that's more time for the At'ai to get ready for us, and less time for the players to move into the swamp. We are not even at the swamp. We are at the mountains, and if the mountains is purged of Kobolds that according to the reward grants energy to the Loa when we finish. Even then a Intrigue action is unlikely to speed up the removal of the Kobolds unless you can have it done in one turn? Which can't be done, and will be dragged into two or three turns if the Kobolds are not anihilated?
You know? It just might speed up the removal of Kobolds. Or it might just bump up the success chance so a low roll is less likely to delay our efforts by a turn. Because we'd have a better army and more accurate information on where the Kobold settlements are located, making it easier to clear a route to the Black Morass.

I want to avoid making enemies with kobolds if possible and there might be benefits to just intimidating them, scouting them out will tell us.

I'm not changing my vote dude. I made my reasoning clear. If you don't like it make your own plan.

It will not speed up the removal of the Kobolds. The only thing that might happen is the illusion that it did so.

You are assuming that Intrigue: Kobolds this turn, then next turn annihilate the kobolds in one turn, yes? That's two turns. just remove them now instead of delaying and believing the action length will change through performing intrigue on kobolds this turn then next turn wiping them out.

Sure, we can try bribing the Ettin next turn.

Ah, you were talking about the total time to clear a path rather than the option to remove the Kobolds itself.
You are correct in the assertion that it'd finish around the same time if scouting first would either compress the action or prevent delays.

My point remains though. This "illusion" of speeding up the removal of the Kobolds could earn us a 1-turn free Martial slot. Through this, our armies grow stronger. Therefore, in this instance, there is an advantage to be had in scouting first.

Assuming intimidating kobolds go well we might get something extra out of them in general. They are great diggers in general so could be we can get lots of tribute from them in the form of ores and such from the mountains they call home.

Trolls don't do slaves but maybe we could do vassals that give us tribute in exchange for not killing them all and even acting as a stabilizing influence on local region?

They tell us where the big scary things are, we kill the big scary things in exchange for some Kobolds.
We get to sacrifice the more impressive local predators* in the mountains and a trickle of Kobolds. They get to keep their compatriots' candles and gain a measure of safety.

Maybe an Ore tribute is fine too. Depends on whether or not the Loa approve.

That's for the long-term though. We have other stuff to deal with.

*Predators may or may not be claimed for the Beast Ward.

No, Trolls don't do vassals, like ever. Because Trolls, like doing things by themselves and having someone else doing something for them, is seen as weakness. That's why they simply purge or intimidate races like the Kobolds.

We are going to fight the Hakkari, wouldn't loads of Kobold souls to the Loa improve our chances?

Killing the kobolds for buffs seems good to me

Not really, their souls are weak quality wise even if we kill enough to offset that.

I personally think better to get them to back off and focus on improving our army in general. We didn't waste our forces on the gnolls so why waste it on the kobolds who are lesser and even more numerous?

People sending really mixed signals here.
