The Raid Miniturn 2
The Raid Miniturn 2:

The sea air filling your lungs with vigor as you looked at the shores of Ireland. The Emerald Isle, as you heard it called by some traders and merchants call it that. Not because it had wealth on it, but… more for its pristine, untouched wilderness, fertile farmlands, and sparsely populated regions.

Of course, it also had its fair share of lords and ladies, and peasants and wealth among them. Particularly within the many monasteries that dot the isle, holding the gold of the Church.

But that did not worry you right now. At least at this very moment.

Elric was… causing many a stir among the ship.

It appears he got seasick.

"Blurgh!" He vomited over the side. "Dammit!" He swore in anger as he sat back down against the shields. "I'm sorry brother, I thought-"

You placed a hand on his shoulder. "It's alright, rest." You stated.

It was going to be very difficult to gain much in the way of support or wealth. You would be on your own.

But Ireland was very… fractured, the petty kings always fought amongst themselves for supremacy.

It certainly was a plan to say, join an Irish petty king, fights his neighbors, then raid his lands if he refused to pay the allotted price.

Koll, had another idea. Instead of raiding, you could disguise yourselves as merchants and get into the many keeps as a small caravan, and once inside, decimate the local guard and loot to your heart's content. However, seeing as none of you, save for the priests were Christian, nor spoke the language, it would be difficult to pass as one, and that could cause great suspicion, or worse, getting arrested and killed.

What is your plan:

[]Raid: You are going to lead your men into battle as a raider, taking small villages and fisher towns, to make a profit. (This is operating under the Vikings usual MO, go to the town, capture or kill inhabitants, and take the loot. There is a lover DC of getting discovered, but a low risk of being killed, or losing people unless the objective is Medium difficulty or higer.)

[]Offer Services as a Mercenary Band: it is quite a short walk to the king of this land, but you are not worried about it. You will offer your ax in exchange for service within his banners, and he doesn't pay you, you will raid his lands. (This is another approach, and you will be paid as mercenaries for a local king. You are automatically discovered, but you will be treated as an ally to the irish king, meaning you cannot raid his lands. However, failure to do what the king asks, or abandoning him will cause you to become hostile to his army. You will be able to raid other territories with a king's army at your back.)

[]Sneak into Keep and Sack it: You will sneak into the Keep of the King, and raid it from the inside. 50 men are enough to create chaos. (This is a dangerous approach with a lot of potential loot for you, even taking noble hostages. However, you must pass a series of rolls for your plan to work, and if you fail, there is a chance to get wiped out and captured.)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you choose to Raid What are your targets:

[]Fishing villages: Plenty of food, plenty of women and tools there… (Potential to gain exotic food, concubines, and valuable tools.) Risk: Low

[]Town (Potential to gain slaves, money, arms and armor) Risk: Low/Medium.

[]Scattered Farms (Potential to gain slaves, and tools, and potentially money.) Risk: None/Low

[]Monostary: (Potential to gain slaves, books of knowledge, artifacts, money, valuable goods. ???) Risk: Medium.

Who will lead the Raiding Party:

[]Einar
[]Koll Bjornson
[]Regin Branson
[]Grim Branson
[]Tor Erikson
[]Elric (Note, in choosing this option, Elric has a chance to get wounded, but also hugely gain in PC, and Martial Stat)

Where do you go:
[]Thormund
[]Desmond
[]Leinster
[]Ormund
[]Connacht
[]Ulster
[]Dublin
[]Tyrconnell
[]Tyrone

I know this turn may be a little complicated, but it's how I plan my raids in ck2... minus the whole mercenary thing. And more indepth stuff.

Raid is the obvious option. It's what we came to do, and trying to sack a keep is way too risky with what we have.

Town because it has the best payout in my opinion (arms and armor in particular would be very useful right now). It might even be Low Risk.

Einar is the obvious choice to lead here since this is his raid.

Ulster because that's what everyone else is voting for right now and I don't really have an opinion on this.

yeah go for the east coast or south avoid west coast in general. ulsters ok
