And no one will until someone wears it into battle so stop trying to metagame complete and utter random chance please.

...? Like, the bonuses aren't that extreme, and honestly I care much more about setting up the P3 cast with fabulous outfits. The fact they basically give superpowers is just a convenient justification for why wearing such things is practical.

That, and I have no doubt the "Custom Outfits" option is actually meaningful narrative-wise. Akihiko was pretty happy with the Polydecus outfit, whereas I can see giving Shinjiro a Castor outfit being... awkward, yet potentially rewarding if handled correctly.

Besides, "Custom Outfits" was originally a write-in but Seeker keeps listing it as a pre-set option. So less "metagaming" and more "trying to make use of an ignored gameplay mechanic".

Okay, at least some of this was only to be expected.

In related news, Ken's progress towards resolution is coming along rather nicely.

April 13-16, 2009
One of the problems with staying home from school due to personal reasons is the fact that you missed a day of school. Thankfully, it's close enough to the start of the year that nobody's covering anything really important yet, but you sort of feel bad for Makoto-san once he wakes up. He'll have a lot of catching up to do.

Your friends... aren't much help with this, given that they're all in lower grades than you. But it's fun having them around, and they've got stuff to work on, too, so there's no reason not to spend time with them.

"Why were you gone Friday, anyway?" Maiko asks, voicing a question you'd honestly expected to have to answer a lot sooner. You guess her natural curiosity finally overpowered her sense of tact.

"I... wasn't feeling well that day." It was a mental issue, rather than a physical one, but you still aren't lying to them, and you think that might just be the most important part. You don't want to lie to your friends more than you have to. "I'm not the only one who had problems- Shinjiro-san had to stay home, too, and Akihiko-san broke his arm." Admittedly, the last one doesn't quite fit in with the story you're constructing, but they're bound to find out eventually.

"Are... those things related?" Akira sounds pretty confused. You would be, too, if you were given a bunch of information like that.

You don't actually know how to respond to this. "Well... they were all things healing magic didn't work on. I mean, nobody really tried with Akihiko-san... but I think there was a pretty high chance of getting it wrong, so..." Best to let him suffer through the cast. At least, that's what Mitsuru-san says.

You haven't completely ruled out the idea that she might be upset with him after he brought Shadows back to the dorm, but... given how she healed all of his other injuries, you're going to trust her on this one.
I miss Diarahan...
"So... how did he break his arm, anyway?" Another thing you should probably have thought about ahead of time.

"Well, I wasn't there when it happened," You point out, because you were sort of going through your own mess of trauma at the time, "But I think it has something to do with why we need to replace just about everything on the first floor?" They're vaguely related, at least, and that's close enough for your purposes. "We lost the television, internet... and the carpeting. You probably shouldn't come visit for a while."
Not unless they want to help pick out replacement furniture, anyway.
Neither of them try to disagree with you, though Akira shows some amount of morbid curiosity. You think Maiko can tell him it's not a good idea on her own, though.

You don't get quite as much studying done as you'd like, because the others are a bit more interested in just what happened to the dormitory, and you need to try and field whatever questions you can, but you think you've still managed to learn something today, so you guess it's not a total waste.

Makoto-san still hasn't woken up yet. This is concerning, because as far as anyone can tell, he isn't actually injured anywhere. It's like he just... wants to sleep forever, or something.
You'll get used to it eventually. Maybe a bit too used to it.
"Hey, Makoto-san." You're sort of surprised Yukari-san isn't here today, but you guess she has better things to do than hang around here all the time. You think she feels responsible due to how she was supposed to lead the battle.

That or she has some sort of crush on him. But if the dorm was continuously in the middle of some sort of relationship drama, you think you'd get sick of it after a while, so you sort of hope that's not the case.
Especially given how he never says no to anything. Even if it would really be in his best interests.
"I know you probably can't hear me." Even if he could, he might not want to, after what happened. "And... I don't know if you'd be interested in what I have to say. And I'll just... end up repeating myself when you wake up, anyway." If he wakes up, some part of you thinks, but you squash that part down before it can cause any trouble. "But I'm... sorry I attacked you like that. It wasn't anything you did, just... You reminded me of something bad. And... I guess I haven't been dealing with it as well as I thought I was."

You haven't really been dealing with it more than you had to, actually, but you still thought you were more-or-less okay. And then it turned out you weren't.

Or maybe it was just Thanatos- and when did you learn that Persona's name- dragging it up again before you were ready to deal with it. You don't know.

You notice a card left on Makoto-san's bedside in a shade of blue you've never seen in ink before.

Or in anything but fabric, come to think of it.
Okay, I think I have some idea where Elizabeth-san went. Maybe. It's a long shot, but...
It's probably nothing. Makoto-san's probably just the Velvet Room's new Guest, though that still begs the question of why, if one of them can go leave a get-well-soon card, Lavenza can't drop by just for a short chat.

"I should probably go now," You decide. As much as you need to have a talk with Makoto-san about these things... it can wait until he's actually conscious. "Everything else I should say... I don't want to say it more than once? I know that probably sounds weird, but... I guess I'll see you when you wake up."

You really do need to leave. Part of it's what you just said- if you kept talking to him, you'd end up going on about things that shouldn't be brought up more than necessary. But it's also because the room is too quiet, with nobody there to talk back at you.

It's time you went and did something else.

[ ] Maybe you should talk to Mitsuru-san and see whether or not the mess that is your guardianship precludes therapy. You think you might need some.

[ ] Getting custom outfits made for your friends is a nice thing to do, right?

[ ] ...What's Elizabeth-san doing here? More importantly, would it be worth approaching her?

Still think getting a Thanatos outfit made would be good, as a way of showing Ken doesn't hate him.

Elizabeth, at the very least, values Makoto-san very highly- given how saving him from his fate is basically her driving motivation post-P3. That, and she outright has romantic feelings for him canonically.

So if Elizabeth really does have future memories, then the answer is pretty obvious: she's wanting to be with and save Makoto-san. Besides, given how she's outright attending the same school as Makoto, an encounter with her is inevitable.

Nobody else thinks it is strange that sandwiched between the "Ask about therapy" and "Elizabeth" options is "Custom Outfits"? Feels like that just proves Seeker has story plans depending on what we buy. Oh well...

Unless people change their mind, talking to Mitsuru seems better if only because the answer isn't easily guessed. Even then, it probably wouldn't be difficult getting Shinjiro's therapist to see Ken, what with being a Persona Wielder herself and her friends already being paranoid of Ken.

Because, damn it, at least one person should be somewhat functional. Might as well be us.

It's good to say that Ken's... I was going to say continued, but that doesn't seem quite right... emotional stability is actually valued over seeing what Elizabeth is currently up to.

Really, this is the sort of thing that needs to be looked into at some point, if only so everyone doesn't look back after everything's over and realize they never figured out what they were supposed to do with Ken. (Last timeline, Mitsuru probably ended up just throwing money at the problem. And maybe employing a bit of mind control. But whatever she did, she never told anyone else about it.)

This May Be Long Overdue
Sometimes, you look back and are surprised by how wary you used to be of Mitsuru-san. Yes, she can be scary sometimes, but it's almost always been on the behalf of someone she cares about... usually to keep them from doing something stupid. Or to reprimand them from doing something stupid. Or... come to think of it, Akihiko-san and Shinjiro-san do a lot of stupid things.

So. It's taken her a while to get past the use of intimidation to solve her problems. But she's not upset with you all that option, if only because you take various poor decisions as an example of what not to do, and now you can sometimes forget that she can turn the whole building into a winter wonderland.
My spending at least six years with her for a legal guardian probably helped with that.
Of course, there are a number of subjects that she can be... touchy, about. Generally involving near-death experiences, shorted-out electronics, and, these days, anything to do with Shuji Ikutsuki. And you're about to bring some of that up, because none of you actually believe you'd ever be able to live here without Ikutsuki's intervention.
I still maintain that that's the best thing he ever did for us.
You suppose even an evil mastermind would end up doing the right thing by accident, on occasion.

Approaching Mitsuru-san no longer makes you as nervous as it would have, a long time ago. And that's good, because otherwise, you would never have had the courage to bring up this topic. "Mitsuru-san, I... I want to talk about what happened last week."

Mitsuru-san blinks, and pushes the paper she was working on to the side. This might actually be the first time you've seen her outright stop working for anything you had to say. "Go on."

"I... think I might need therapy." It hurts to admit it, because you thought you'd actually been handling things pretty well... but given how, for a while, you weren't really handling them at all, maybe you just needed a less relative measurement. "Last week, when Makoto-san lost control of his Persona... It was too much like what happened to Mom. Like... like it was happening again, only I could do something about it this time, and... And then I attacked Makoto-san, and I really wish I hadn't, but I wasn't..."

"You weren't thinking clearly," She finishes, and you notice that she doesn't really sound surprised by this. "By the end of the night, Takeba was the only one on the roof who was, and she is probably going to ask the reason for that as soon as everyone is accounted for." You think she might be trying to warn you. Maybe.

For someone whose powers include communicating with people, Mitsuru-san isn't all that great at it.

"I... was thinking that," You agree. It seems reasonable, as long as Shinjiro-san's okay with it. You should probably talk to him about that ahead of time, actually... "I mean, I'll have to tell Makoto-san that I wasn't really mad at him, so much as everything else, but. That comes later." Once you can think of the words, once you'll only have to say it one time... also, once he's conscious. That's sort of important. "But... yeah. I probably need therapy. I don't know if that's really possible, but... if it could help me not repeat that..." If it could help you change. If it could make you not be that person anymore. "...I think it'd be worth it."

You don't get your answer right away. The silence hangs in the air long enough for you to think that Mitsuru-san might not even have one.

Eventually, though, she responds. "That... I might be able to arrange it. There is a therapist in the city who is a Persona User, she's been working with Shinjiro, so you wouldn't have to worry too much about being believed. And, of course, money wouldn't be any issue. But..."

"...You'd need someone to sign something, wouldn't you?" And, of course, you have no idea who your legal guardian is. If you have one. For all you know, Ikutsuki could have somehow managed to place you in the elementary school dorms anyone even thought to try and figure that out. And if he could, it wouldn't surprise you at all if he did.

"I'd have to look and see who it is, but... yes. If it's the chairman, I might have to learn how to forge his signature." You wonder if she'd actually try asking him to sign things nicely first, or if she'd just jump straight to forgery. As this point, neither of them would come as a surprise.
We probably shouldn't ask. Plausible deniability, and all.
Still, it sounds like she's actually going to try and help. You didn't think there was much chance that she wouldn't, but it's nice to see your faith in her has not been misplaced.

During the Dark Hour on Saturday, a teenager with a baseball cap was dragged to the dorm by one of his classmates, who then apparently abandoned him. He was very confused by the whole thing, but once he realized that, as a Gekkoukan student who experiences the Dark Hour, he has reason to be allowed to live here, he was far too quick to claim a room for himself.
I'm not the only one wondering why Mitsuru-san had the papers he needed to move in on hand, right?
Given how his first impression of the place involved a room where most of the furniture has had to be removed, and the new carpet still hasn't gotten in yet, this is probably something to be worried about.

So. Yeah. Junpei Iori lives here now, and he seems familiar for some reason, but you just can't place... oh. He's in one of the pictures. And you think he had something to do with Chidori-san. Who you haven't seen since the fire.

...You're just going to ignore that and try focusing on something else. It'll be simpler that way. (Pick up to three.)
