So, the thing about making this about us is that well...I don't think Brie likes herself all that much.

She feels a massive self-preservation instinct sure. But between everything that has gone on in our little adventure she hasn't really fought for herself. It's always been about other people for Brie. Whether it's been unknowingly following her directives, fighting with Emiya, getting stronger to impress Scathach because she placed faith in us, or even just fighting because we felt bad about random people getting hurt...Rider has always been the most important of the people Brie fights for, she has in fact begun to devote herself in word and deed to the one she calls her "Queen."

That, I think, should stay consistent now that we are called upon to make this choice, rather than whatever we think sounds healthy or fun.

I'm not sure I agree with your thesis, though you do raise good points.

I don't think Brie has really felt she has much of a 'self' to like or dislike at all thus far. This decision is less to me about what she devotes herself to, and more about who she is at the core, who she chooses to be from the mostly blank slate she started from.

So...basically the journey Shirou took over ten years in order to become who he is, which we've been forced to undertake in less than two weeks?

Plus unlike Shirou, we didn't have anyone (Kiritsugu) to give us an ideal or something to strive for when 'Brie' woke up. Just pain and a desire to survive.

Such a shame we can't write-in a cop-out compromise vote to wish for strength to overturn obstacles on our path to Medb-chan. :V

Eh, I honestly cannot say that finding your self-value in another person is good. It's not bad, either, it's just you'd better hope that special person reciprocates with all their heart or you basically destroy your sense of self-worth for the foreseeable future. It can work out, it just usually doesn't. Like, you don't really have to trust me on this, if you don't want to, that's dandy. Doesn't mean I disapprove of this course of action, it's very romantic. Doesn't mean I support it, either.

That's fair. Though I'd argue that making that strength our own is a bit of a leap so far as this crossroads is confirmed.

I'd be much more comfortable separating from the Medb vote the other majority was the Survival option.

But then, I'm also ship-crazy.

Any chance I could convince you to tie break?

[] I want to see Rider once more.

Your desire.

It was a simple wish. One that you didn't need the Holy Grail for. It was that so you can live past this situation.

It was all so you can see her again.

That stupid girl.

"I want to see Rider once more," you rasped as you felt something unlock inside you. The lock fell and the chains receded.

To grant that girl's selfish wish was your own wish. You refused to die until then, you refused to fall, you refused the hand dealt to you by the world as it seemed intent on dragging you down. So you'll face it.

You've had enough. If the world wanted you to fight then you'll fight.

{Do not Die.}

You won't. So you'll bet everything except your life.

{Your Body.}
{Your Senses.}
{Even what little Humanity you have.}

......
.....
....

You opened your eyes to find your circuits burning as you knelt on the ground. Conrad was before you, stepping away as your prana rippled violently through the air. You were back and your body was humming with power. The sensation that coursed through you was similar to burning on a funeral pyre.

The sensation of pain faded from your limbs and fear was quashed out by a new emotion. You slowly raised your head as you stared at the Dead Apostle as he stepped back in surprise, a nervous smile curling upon his lips.

You moved, your hand swiping through the air as you reached out for him. The Apostle's eyes widened as he dodged only for you to grab something.

Blood danced through the air as you watched him hold his mouth. His jaw was missing as you had easily torn it out with one sweeping motion from before. His tongue lolled out from the gory red on his face before his hissed.

You tossed down his jaw and crushed it underneath your boot.

"I'm not afraid of you anymore," you whispered as your circuits burned, "I'll show you exactly what you've been messing with."

Conrad clenched his fist before dashing towards you. Your eyes followed his movements even as he surpassed the speed of a bullet. He was imbued in his own body's power as he rushed you down with a kick.

"Aegis: Multi," you murmured before his kick was caught by the same shield you held by your side. He twisted in the air before spitting spears of blood at you.

Shields appeared above you and caught his attack before he landed his feet. He thrust his fist like a great lance with blinding speed but your shield refused to let him touch touch you.

His eyes widened as you held up your hand.

"Goddess, Moonlight, Huntress. Patron of the Hunt, become the Light that seeks my foes. Grant me charity and may this Prey be worthy of your Divine Wrath," you breathed as your prana crackled and the ground split, "Silver Arrows."

Crystallized Prana formed and shot through the air before descending on Conrad. They were like comets ripping through the throne room as the Apostle dodged and weaved through them before holding out his arm. A murky shadow erupted from his hand and thundered towards you.

You stood your ground as the shadow turned into a giant Hound's head.

"Aegis: Multi," you repeated once more before a larger shield stopped the Hound from shutting its mouth.

Conrad grunted as he fell down his knees. His red eyes turned to slits as the Hound sought to crush Aegis. You stepped back and swept your hand as you narrowed your gaze. More firepower. You needed more!

"Holder of Truth. Enlighten mankind. Keeper of the Flames of Olympus, Ancient Prometheus, flourish thy blessing and scatter," You chanted as you saw the floor glow with super heated rock, "Cry of Titans."

An inferno burst from beneath the hound and burned it. The shadows were forced to dissipate as the purging flames of enlightenment beat back the darkness. Conrad watched as flames traced through his arm and reached his body. He vanished into shadows to escape being burned before reforming at the foot of the throne.

He fell down his knees as he regenerated his missing jaw. You stared at him as you held up your hand.

"Goddess, Moonlight, Huntress. Patron of the Hunt, become the Light that seeks my foes. Grant me charity and may this Prey be worthy of your Divine Wrath," you chanted once more making him jerk his head up in alarm, "Silver Arrows."

Arrows flew from where you stood as he took vials from his pocket and tossed them into the floor. Rotten hands emerged to be ripped to shreds by your arrows, most likely Caster's vials. Behind the rotting hands, Conrad had vanished.

You turned behind you to find his mouth extended to an unnatural length to crush your right side with one bite. You moved and jammed Aegis into his mouth and felt your circuits burn hot as you took him down, punching him straight into the ground with your shield.

He vanished into shadows once more before he rolled on the ground with a strained look. You walked towards him as you held out your hand...

"I'll drown you in curses," you declared as the air rippled and sparked. A small white box appeared above your palm, "It may not be the genuine Noble Phantasm but it should be enough. Not even you would withstand the deluge."

"That Box... A replica?" Conrad grunted as he raised his gaze, "You crazy bitch!"

"If it were the real thing it would drown the world for sure. But this one is just a Box stuffed to bursting with curses," you declared as the white boxes began to rumble as it's locks were released, "And I've set their target to you. This failure is the Luctworth Family Magecraft..."

"Wait. Hold on! I was just told to do this! It's Caster you should be killing!" Conrad said as he tried to drag himself away, "I'm a nobody! I'll even let you go! Don't do it!"
