[] "I wanted to stop her. Keep her from running."
You held your side while in pain before letting out a shaky breath. You slowly had your wounds heal as you got back up your feet. Homura kept her boot on Yuri's face while you worked to respond to her quip.
"I wanted to stop her. Keep her from running," you replied as you looked down at Yuri unconscious on the ground.
"Right... And where did that get you?" Homura asked as she took her boot off Yuri's face before picking her up by the arm. She then glanced behind you and Kaguya as Madoka came into view, out of breath from having to run.
"Homura-chan... You're too fast," she wheezed as she held her chest in exhaustion, "Slow down will you?"
"Apologies but I had to react quick..." Homura said as she held Yuri up towards Kaguya, "You'll want to lock this one tight."
"Noted," Kaguya murmured as she looked at Yuri with a look of concern, "Thank you for subduing her. If... If you would, there are girls around willing to put her in containment again."
Madoka turned to her friend and nodded, "Go. I'll patch Yukina up."
"I'll live," you murmured with a wince as Madoka worked on patching you up.
"No you won't not unless you let me do my job," Madoka growled as she made sure you kept still, "Hey, hey don't pass out. Focus on me."
"Trying hard not to," you replied as you held your head. You felt your seeds squirm within you before you tried calming them with deep breaths. Madoka brought you to a wall and had you sit there while she assisted in healing your wounds.
"We were called here once people found out about the commotion. Homura and I were the fastest to respond. What happened?" Madoka asked with a serious expression.
"We've been breached. Yukina here stopped the culprit before they could kill us. It was the Envoy," Kaguya explained as she stood by your side, "I wouldn't have made it if it weren't for Yukina."
"Not good. If anything happened to you after that fancy speech you gave then people would be more doubtful of the operation tonight," Madoka said as she moved her hand over your shoulder, "Luck doesn't begin to describe it but... Yukina managed despite everything."
"I try," you muttered.
"You try too much," Madoka said as she narrowed her gaze at you, "You're dying and you just go battle the Envoy of all people without regard for your life?"
"Don't have much left to live. I'll help anyway I can," you told her with a frown.
"Homura's right in giving you the stink eye. What was your plan?" Madoka sighed as she shook her head.
"Please don't remind me..." you grumbled as you shook your head. You then turned to the hole Yuri made and grimaced, "This wasn't the prep time I was expecting..."
"Instead of getting some rest, we're all spooked. It would seem that the Envoy did her job in rattling us... Still, we can't let this feeling fester," Kaguya said as she turned your way, "I'll have to go talk to the other Captains and have them rally the girls. We need everyone ready for tonight... Yukina, we'll need you there too. So rest up for now, okay?"
"Got it..." you nodded as Kaguya glanced at Madoka and nodded before moving off.
"I'll be handling you now. Don't worry, I was a school nurse's assistant back in Mitakihara. I have my way with injured people," Madoka assured you as she pat your head, "Still, this was quite the mess, huh? Just before the final battle too."
"Yeah. I... I'm sorry for getting hurt," you told her with a somber look.
"It's fine. Because of you no one got hurt too badly. You even managed to stop Yuri," Madoka said with a smile as she helped you up.
Homura soon came to view as her hair swayed behind her. Her twinkling purple eyes turned your way and reported, "Yuri's been contained. We should get this one somewhere she can rest."
"You're not wrong there..." Madoka giggled as she supported you, "Well then, any place you want to go?"
You thought about it before you parted your lips to speak. The two girls raised their eyebrows when they heard your answer.
.....
....
...
The bar was quiet when Madoka brought you there. Walking in, you truly felt at home. Touko and Kaito were still watching over Sai so there wasn't anyone in the bar at this time of day. Plus no one would go drinking at two in the afternoon.
Madoka and Homura opened the lights while you turned on the air conditioning. The familiar feel of the bar soon returned as you turned on the lights behind the counter. Taking off the cloths covering the glasses, you knelt down and took a look at what was stored in the fridge.
Some fresh fruits and a few wines.
"Is this your idea of resting?" Homura asked as she raised an eyebrow.
"It's better if I'm in a place I'm familiar with," you told her as you cracked a small smile.
"Ehhh, I never had a drink before," Madoka smiled at you as she rested her chin on her palm, "You want to give us a shot?"
"Madoka, we're minors," Homura sighed as she shook her head.
"Please, Homura-chan, we've been looping timelines or jumping through parallel worlds enough that we've been doing it for years. We're older than we look!" Madoka huffed with a pout.
"I can make you two something non-alcoholic. If only to put the Assassin at ease," you offered as you got your shaker out.
Homura seemed doubtful of this before she sat down beside Madoka, "Fine... Serve me anything."
"Mama used to drink too when she's feeling good but I doubt she never had anything this fancy... This is for free right?" Madoka wondered as she turned to you.
"Yes. It's on the house," you replied with a nod, "Do you two have any preferences?"
"I'd like something fluffy and sweet. Alcohol is optional if you're feeling bad about it," Madoka said before she turned to her friend.
Homura gave Madoka a weird look before shaking her head, "Bitter. I need something bitter and warm. Though I'd leave it up to you."
"Pretty vague choices... But I'll figure something out," you replied as you tapped your cheek.
