….Ok, then. If that's what you want, but don't say I didn't warn you about things being out of whack and crazy.
So, at some point during the Warring States Era of China, a bunch of random ass people suddenly started showing up all over the place. They came out of the sky, the ground, some walked through walls, others popped out of trees, it was a big mess. As you'd expect, mass panic happened and China imploded....again.
Now everything's broken up into Warlords with their territories, we've got people who shouldn't be in China in China, and I'm pretty sure the Ghosts of the various Emperor's are screaming in pain at what's happened to their Empire right now.
But hey, it can't get any worse than this, right?

Back on track, what about you? What exactly is your "position" in China right now? During this era, even as batshit as it is right now, there are three types of people that got shit done. Which are you?
[] Ruler: So, you're one of the many Warlords fighting for control of China? Cool, means you're gonna start with a pretty good power base. Just be mindful of the fact that everyone around you wants what you want, and aren't afraid to beat your ass to get it. (Starting General Goals: Take Over China/Become Emperor, Get a Wife, Defeat Your Rivals)
- Start with Decent Supplies and a Good Sized Army, 1 to 3 Territories you control, and at least 3 Officers to help lead your forces.
- Being a Ruler isn't all it's cracked up to be. You have to make all the decisions, meaning the blame will always come back to you. Not every decision you make will be the right one, not everything will work out. You'll just have to do the best with what you've got.
- Very likely you're surrounded on all sides by people who want your shit. You'll either have to deal with them through Diplomacy or Conquest, and neither of those will be easy.
[] Officer: Ah, you're one of the guy's who's working for one of the Warlords? Well that's good for you, cause all you need to worry about is making sure your Lord gets on that throne. Outside of that, you're basically free. (Starting General Goals: Help Your Lord Take Over China/Become Emperor, Get a Wife, Defeat Your Rivals)
- Start with a Moderate Salary, with the other bonuses dependent on your Ruler.
- As an Officer, you can go on Quest in your or nearby allied Territories for a bit of extra cash, resources, interaction, or men. However, some jobs will be locked to you since you're an Officer, like ones put out by rival Warlords.
- As you fight in battles, complete task, and improve your standing with your Ruler, you'll start getting promoted up to new Ranks. These come with increased Salaries, more options for your free time, and more ways you can affect your Kingdom. You might even reach the point where you become the Right Hand Man of your Ruler, or they decide to give you some Territories and Officers to rule over as you wish.
- There's no guarantee that you're Ruler will love the fact that you're willing to get shit done. In fact, it might actually make them more suspicious of you. They'll still give you promotions, but watch out for...strange ones. Like, being given a Territory right in the middle of your Kingdom where no enemy will ever be able to attack you and you can't fight on the front lines unless your Ruler says you can.
[] Free Officer: Ah, you're one of those "Free Spirits", then? Beholden to no master, nor cause, and just wandering China until you find something interesting? Living the dream, buddy. (Starting Goals: Live Freely, Get Money, Don't Starve)
- You have no Ruler and no Obligation to anything or anyone. You can go where you want, do what you want, fight who you want, whatever. China is your oyster.
- If, at any moment, you feel like you could do a better job at ruling China, you can go ahead and start a Vagabond Unit. When you do, you become a small private army. You can still take on any Quest you want, move to any Territory you want, and any Sworn Siblings or Spouses will immediately quit their jobs to join you. Once you're ready, you can Raise Your Banner in the Territory you're currently in, oust the previous Warlord, and boom you're a Ruler.
- You're.....basically a hobo. You go from place to place taking odd jobs for food money. Not a lot of people are going to be openly friendly to you, until after you've proven you're of some use. The reasons why can vary, but really, would you let a suspicious person with a weapon sit in your home for an extended period of time?
In addition to the above question, who are you? Not as in you as a person, but in terms of China. Are you one of the "invaders" or were you born in China?
[] Established Character: Oh, you're one of the already established heroes? Alright then. I'll make a few guesses as to who, then I'll let you go. (You'll play as a Dynasty Warriors Character; We'll drop right into the game after the next Update; You'll have Preset Traits, Flaws, Fighting Style, etc.)
[] Created Character: So, you were born in China, but aren't one of the well know heroes? Ok then...who exactly....are you? (You'll create your own Character; There will be a few Updates for Character Creation; You can choose your Fighting Styles, Flaws, Traits, etc.)
[] OCP: ...Oh. You're one of the "new" guys who got dropped here, eh? Well...just try not to cause too much trouble, alright? At the very least you'll be equal to everyone else, so there's no threat of you destroying China. I'll let you go after I find out who you are. (You'll play as a fictional character from another work of your choice; You'll have Preset Traits, Flaws, Fighting Style, etc.)
