You guys realize that's a massive waste of SP as the cost doubles due to not having an Evoker right?

We realize, yes, but we don't exactly have much HP either. Besides, Ken is much more skilled with Zio than Cruel Attack, which he has barely used.

At most we take 3 damage per use. Combined with Dia we can use Cruel Attack many more times than Zio. Since we can only use Zio twice. And there are five Shadows. Also, what do you mean by being "more skilled"?

We have 17 HP, and no idea how much damage these Shadows can inflict. Plus, rather than be Critical Existence Failure, HP loss here does affect the characters' bodies. So getting down to half-HP probably won't be something Ken can casually ignore.

Regarding Zio, we did have a training session trying to master it, remember? The light bulbs that kept exploding and melting. Really, Zio & Dia are likely tied for most skilled, followed by Hama. Cruel Attack was used once, and Kouha never.

Yeah, Ken might not quite be able to ignore going down to half. But that's why we have Dia to help us.

And the training is relevent how? No seriously, the training was just control training for non-combat things with Zio. I don't see how that'll help in a fight.

Besides the fact control training is always relevant and useful... My point is simply Ken is much more skilled with Zio than Cruel Attack. It shouldn't be too hard for Ken to develop a Channelling Trick for it, whereas he doesn't have enough grasp of Cruel Attack to develop a similarly useful one.

We don't go unconcious until we hit 0, and both Ken and Morgana have Dia for heals. Besides, these guys are weak as shit, and I wouldn't be surprised if Ken and Morgana take down 2 in the first round.

In Zio's defense, these things are probably Cowardly Maya's, and thus weak to Lightning. On the other hand, who knows if the quest Shadows are identical to the game shadows.

The middle of a fight isn't exactly the best time to be experimenting with our powers, especially when we don't know how we stack up against these guys.

I would like to add that (unless affinities or Shadows are changes), since they are weak to electricity, using Zio will give us second move (or stun them or however it will work in tge quest), while we aren't sure how much damage will physical skill do, and I'm not going to count on critical. With this Cruel Strike gives use pure damage, while Zio will also involve a secondary effect (or maybe even third of shocking our target).
Also, since those Shadows are IIRC weak to wind as well, we might even get all-out-attack together with Morgana.

Seriously, we can use attacks with Channeling. It's not a Channel Trick. We can safely use our moves from what I've seen. We just can't summon a Persona. Also, We can use Zio a grand total of two times. Even with consecutive attacks that isn't worth much.

It could be if those two Zio's take down a Shadow each and Cruel Attack can't, and we can always run away and find a vending machine to raid for SP ups. I still prefer to Cruel Attack, but there are pros and cons to each approach.

Ah. Not sure Ken would be ok with that. Or that the contents of the machine would survive.
If he aimed it carefully...
And I'm pretty sure Shadows in P3P drop money (dunno about Fes).
And if P5 is any indication, without commands from us, Morgana will be spamming Garu everywhere, so I don't think we will really need to cast Zio more than twice for All Out Attack...

They do not. Trust me, from experience, I know. The victory screen shows the EXP you get and sometimes an item. But not money. You get money from Shuffle Time and selling items dropped from Shadows.

Well, that, or from the random suitcases you can find.

Really? Well, if you say so, it's been a while. I based it mostly on the fact that I remember being rich in P3, and I remember being poor as fuck in Shin Megami Tensei IV (where if you want money, you need to negotiate with demons, as nothing drops)...

Dude, my second venture into Tatarus had me find 3 Golden Shadows. And they drop a item that sells for 6000 Yen a per victorious encounter. And of course, the chests can have thousands of yen in them. Basically? Finding money in Tatarus is easy.

So long as you are the MC.
