Goddammit, I knew our ninjutsu rolls would suck again. This is why I said we'd need the auto success there.

Being at the hospital could help the wounded. But Tsunade is already there and running things.

Being at the border (either caravan mission or with Yoshi) could put Ayako in place to prevent another incursion.

Orochimaru could have vital intelligence for the war effort.

But if Shiro is attacked and Kurama gets loose in the middle of the village (there might be Whirlpool ninja, Uzumaki in particular among the invaders) that would be very bad.

Just a casual +180 to dodge. Where does hawk training go next? Now that they've learnt not to die do they start on wind ninjutusu or something?
Wind ninjutsu...

And I shall have you know, learning to DODGE from birds will keep you alive for the war... maybe... You're not immune to explosives. Or other Uzumaki/kiri bullshit

Yes, but hopefully flying around on an abomination who normal humans cannot look upon without their sanity unravelling will cover those weaknesses. :V

Friendly fire? What friendly fire?

[X]With Yoshi, Dai and the Border Rats: You had gotten the Unenviable task of defending the eastern border. Great.

That's the direction the invasion is coming from, ya know.

Next step needs to be going full One Piece kami-e, the rokushiki technique, probably by blatantly ripping off Orochimaru's soft body technique, and flappy birding our away to freedom.

[X]On the Hokage Monument with Ashai: You were planning on telling her your new goal now that you were a jounin.

Having binged on this literally yesterday, I can safely say a few things about the dice rolls.
Genjutsu training, Hawk training, and spending time with Orochimaru have stupidly good odds of success. (Ballpark around 90, 95%)
Ashai and Taijutsu have moderate (about 60%) odds of success.
Tsunade cooperation rolls are always either very high or very low.

Any other social roll and any other training roll have odds of about 1 in 5 of succeeding.
The dice in this quest are quirky little fucks.

now-now... you are giving me ideas that you should not be giving me.

[X]At the Academy with Shiro: You were helping Shiro with his reading homework when the red Flag came.

Protect little bro holding the giant chakra beast. You can never be too careful.

Lil Bro is nuclear and can't protect himself yet, if he is kidnapped and we don't know where he is, we will be in trouble. Everyone else is capable or near someone capable to be protected.

Also for the border patrol, as seen in Naruto during the Chunin exams. A literal army of ninja just snuck past a border patrol of ANBU. So they probably have mapped out or predicted the general patrol paths of the border patrol. Allowing them to confidently insert multiple armies along multiple directions making our presence there not very impactful.

Seems like the best vantage point to see just where there's trouble. Then we can go help.

Frankly, the only sensible starting points are the Academy or the Hospital. Both of those need our strength and aid in defending them far more than any of the other possible starting points.

Keeping the invalid safe should be obvious without further explanation.
Alternatively, keeping the village Jinchuuriki safe and his ninja-in-training classmates with him is also extremely important. It would really screw up Konoha if someone were to slaughter all the little students before they grow up strong enough to defend themselves and the war starts out with several years worth of 'no reinforcements'. Or worse, a tailed beast gets released in the village.
