[X] Step in... as Fantastic <3 Wargirl Tamura-chan! You'll defeat them both for your own nefarious schemes~. Also you'll end all your sentences with "Homu".
Time to be...

Fabulous.

Or we could watch, this quest has a annoying habit of homura joining in on 'fun' ends in tears.
First example.
Threadmark 17
The one literally called - Curb your Enthusiasm -

Second example.
Threadmark 25 also known as Mrow, where you know Sayaka gets a cat flung into her face.

Third example.
Threadmark 42, going on a Ferris wheel ride with madoka.

… Im going to skip a couple but last time.
Last example.
… Literally all of pokemon world.
So... the key to success is to read the situation better and play nice?

Okay, wow, dismissing me offhand like that is incredibly rude, maybe no need to be a dick hey?

What would you rather prefer?

It's either that or blowing up at you for your position being vehemently dissonant with my own.

I think this quest is both fun and suffering. It's not a feast in time of plague or funeral at a wedding; it's both.

I find you telling me not to go 'supersrsmode' on this 'generally silly and fun quest' condescendingly patronizing and wrong to boot, because you for some reason think I'm treating this whole situation too seriously.

Four updates ago, Madoka was thinking whether she needed to euthanize Homura.

It's a PMMM Quest. The MC is Homura, whose life is literally suffering all the times of the day. It's most importantly a Doc quest, and he is often prone to make sudden changes in the narrative tone as a consequence of the voters' choices.

And now I really need to step away from a keyboard. Farewells seem to make you think I'm being overly dismissive of your opinions, so this time we can do without one.

I completely forgot about the Pokémon thing. Madoka wasn't great there but Homura due to votes wasn't really acting in good faith either.
We are literally (Love and) War now. Madoka not getting that we would want to just win shows a horrible lack of any kind of understanding of what Homura was at that point in time, nevermind who. Homura... doesn't deal with losing well for very obvious, and very understandable, reasons.

And Madoka's response to us/Homura being unable to loosen up is to mindwipe her as thoroughly as possible and then jump to an unknown world with help from her being imprisoned in a Master Ball.

However I examine it what happened there was not our/Homura's fault. You don't blame someone with PTSD from failing repeatedly for doing their best to not fail in the same way you don't blame a person with anxiety issues for having an anxiety attack.

It's just stupid and hurtful.

Madoka is trying to do what she did in the series, find a magic bandaid to make all the bad things go away. It's not working and it's driving her up the wall as near as I can tell.

To note, this wasn't really avoidable. In fact scenes like this are how we'd move up and down the whole relationship chart primarily so they were always going to be a part of the quest.

That more than anything shows what this quest is at it's core: Serious relationships in a (usually) fun backdrop.
So... the key to success is to read the situation better and play nice?
No, that just puts the issue away to sneak up on us again later. There's some comparisons I could make here, but I'll stick to it just being like a standard "stick your head in the sand and hope it goes away" response.

I... would like to think I know what I'm talking about with Madoka and Homura, especially Homura, considering I threaded the goddamn needle during the ferris wheel incident on saving it from (purposeful) disaster.

Homura has issues. Madoka needs to learn to deal with these instead of trying to magic them away... or kill her apparently. I didn't remember that bit.

I think I have made posts of us having a reverse Rebellion on our hands, with us needing to take down a crazy Madoka. It is all too real of a possibility for this to occur with her issues rearing their ugly head(s) like they are.

Hopefully it won't come to that. Ignoring the situation is only going to make it worse though and playing nice works only insofar that the other party can even be reasoned with. Madoka has been... unstable since Pokemon. And before really, but it wasn't really affecting us/Homura at that point.

As a consequence of player choice, yes, but apparently I've been suffering from depression for a long time (no wonder I connected with this franchise so intensely) and I am channeling a bit of personal experience fighting against depression-induced mood nosedives.

You're not wrong that choices have consequences, but there's also nothing wring with trying to have fun.

Welcome to the club no one wants to be in. :V I'd try to make a joke about it, but it'd be too bleak and self-depreciating.

Also yeah, writing (or reading) while having a depression slump can be... uhh, "!Fun!"

And no wonder I usually have a decent handle on your characters when I try.

...
well now that the meta arguments have ended (for this vote)
I would put forward that homura herself would have more fun sitting back and watching rather then effectively becoming the center of attention.

I have regrets, this is the only path
All my life has been Unlimited Shitpost Works.

Either they are faking or OPM-verse really scrambles your brains on arrival. Further study is warranted.

[X] Break out the popcorn. Watch until they're finished (but intervene if someone is about to die).

You won't allow your friends to make fools of themselves.

Too late, Homura.
Too late. :p

Step in... as Fantastic <3 Wargirl Tamura-chan!

Meanwhile, Homura Tamura is traveling across the multiverse and winning all the cooking conquests she comes across.
It is said she collects mementoes from her defeated foes, and by the last count she has thirty five Gordon Ramsay's toques stored in her shield.

While I can live with the popcorn one, the joining in one is likely to end badly. Homura... If Homura is put in a spot where she might lose somehow, it's probably going to get very much not fun.

People complain how we can't/couldn't read the mood and now a bunch are running face first into not reading the main character.

They seem like they're having fun? Why interrupt that?

Fuck it.

[X] Break out the popcorn. Watch until they're finished (but intervene if someone is about to die).

We're right there with them, we don't need to do anything besides actually step in if the need arises. It's like someone finding their child charges playing in a mud puddle, for a really basic, loose comparison (and yes, I just compared Homura to a caretaker; I know what that sounds like, just go with it).
The logical thing to do is stop them and clean them up, but they're having fun. Let them have fun. We could use this to just sit down and breathe, too.

I mean, remember that you don't become a monster in this universe unless you're in a really bad headspace. Even if it's over the stupidest reasons.

It's called casting aside your humanity for a reason.

So Mami, apparently, is deeply hurting that everyone rejected her cake. I will chuckle if this allows her to better connect with Homura.
