[x] Take off your mask. This doesn't have to go on for any longer than it has to, and it's been too long.
-[x] Let him stay. If Danah asks anything, he can fill in the blanks where you can't.
--[x] Ask about her... husband. Does Clint know? Does Dad?

Seems like it might have been better handled as
[ ][Mask] Take off your mask. This doesn't have to go on for any longer than it has to, and it's been too long.
[ ][Mask] Keep your mask on. Clint nearly broke in front of you. Danah... doesn't need to know.

[ ][Matthew] Stay, and ask Matthew if you can help do something.
[ ][Matthew] Make the conversation private. Matthew is a friend, but he didn't need to be here.

[ ][What do] Stay and talk to Danah
-[] Ask why she's been working, she never wanted to do anything like this before.
-[] Ask her if she's been safe. The worlds changed, and you wouldn't be much of a big brother if you didn't ask.
-[] Ask about her... husband. Does Clint know? Does Dad?
[ ][What do] Stay and talk to Matthew
-[] Have him tell you more about the parahuman situation in the city. You don't believe that things are quiet in New York of all places.
-[] Ask about the musicians, how many there are and if you need to stay to make sure things stay as quiet as he says.
[ ][What do] Leave the city, just go on your shift before you make things worse here.

Although now its written out I'm not sure its less clunky than one from each tier.

It was going to be clunky any which way, but I appreciate the attempt.

Plot importance says "this is probably a master". The probability that it really is is still only 50% or something like that. Since it probably is a master, being prepared to stop her from hurting herself might be a good idea.

If you want any specific ways to keep her from hurting herself, a write-in would be appreciated. Anything else will be up to me.

Hmmm, I have no Idea what to do.
Maybe we can get 5 Minutes alone and call Clint? Finding out if he knows about the Marriage Thing could help.
If it is a Master then we don't give any Warning that we suspect something, if it isn't a Master we still get 5 Minutes to deal with ... this.

"Do your brothers know what you're doing young lady?"

This can definitely be a write in. Matthew has a phone and you know clints number.

Update: Votes are only going to be going on for today and tomorrow. I have all day tomorrow and I hope to get this next chapter out by Saturday.

Great, maybe something like

[X] Keep your mask on. Clint nearly broke in front of you. Danah... doesn't need to know.
-[X] Write in: Get a Phone and Five Minutes Alone. Call Clint and ask him about Danah getting married. This gives you some Time to calm down and find out how that happened. And if he doesn't know about it ...

Perfectly reasonable. Gets a call, lets you get some information and it might get something else. Although, you might get even more with a straightforward approach.

Either way works and this gives me plenty to work with.

We did jump to this being some kind of Master Thing...
Meh, if it's just some Relationship Drama then we still get to ask Clint about it, instead of us having a surprise Talk about her Marriage with Danah.

Honestly thinking this over Alex's real superpower is giving his siblings heart attacks.

Just walked in on Clint while he's cleaning and now this.

Atlas: "Lying about your age is against the law young lady!"
Dannah:"What? How could you know?"
Atlas: *Tears off mask* "Because I'm your brother who vanished while suffering terminal cancer!"
Dannah: *Wakes up in a cold sweat* "Weird fucking dream"

The Curtains Fall
Okay, I know this is the last thing that you probably want to hear from me, but I'm going to stop Shining Example.

I started writing this almost two years ago, and it's been a lot of fun. However, right now, I find myself dreading writing another update. I'm holding myself to a standard that I don't remember having and it's making every chance that I get to write feel like a chore instead of fun. As much as I want to see the plans that I have be realized, I refuse to force out a product that I'm not satisfied with.

That being said, thanks to everyone that's been here for the two book journey that this thing made. Honestly, while it has it's problems, I personally think that this story up to the end of London is my best work on this site. As such, if you guys want, I'm willing to post all of my notes and answering any questions that you might have about this story. And, if you guys really want it, after a bit of rest on my part, I wouldn't be against making another WORM quest with Atlas within it. Maybe not as the staring role, but as a character none the less.

So as I said, I invite any and all questions, thoughts on the story, memes or interest on another Shining Example.

It was fun while it lasted. Thanks.

What was the original core idea that inspired you to start this quest? Do you feel like you accomplished what you set out to write or do you feel like that goal is a hundred chapters away from coming to fruition?

What ideas or suggestions did you feel passionate about that just didn't make it into Shining Example?

Thank you for the momentous adventures! I look forward to seeing whatever you work on next.

While I was never a very vocal person in the thread, I nevertheless consider myself one of the most rabid fanboys of this quest; but all things have their time, and I suppose it would be better to take a break while the going is good. With that said, I do encourage you not to completely lose hope: there have been many occasions where quests thought long gone have risen once more! Just recently, Maugan Ra launched a continuation of a previous quest that he had declared dead.

However, if this truly is the end...... (I am happy to get no answers!)

1) ̶I̶ ̶M̶U̶S̶T̶ ̶K̶N̶O̶W̶ ̶A̶B̶O̶U̶T̶ ̶T̶H̶E̶ ̶W̶A̶I̶F̶U̶ *Ahem* I mean, how would you have handled the relationship with Rebecca? It seemed that we were nearing a breaking point given her reaction to the true depth of Atlas' issues; what sort of event did you plan out around that if any? Were there any other revelations after/ if we successfully worked through that?
̶(̶p̶l̶e̶a̶s̶e̶ ̶p̶l̶e̶a̶s̶e̶ ̶p̶l̶e̶a̶s̶e̶ ̶c̶o̶u̶l̶d̶ ̶A̶l̶e̶x̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶R̶e̶b̶e̶c̶c̶a̶ ̶h̶a̶v̶e̶ ̶h̶a̶d̶ ̶c̶h̶i̶l̶d̶r̶e̶n̶ ̶t̶o̶g̶e̶t̶h̶e̶r̶?̶)̶

2) What was Oracle's power? You mentioned once that it scared you just as much as Fortuna's, which is no mean feat. How would you have used him- as a semi-plot device like OTL Contessa or as a player in his own right?

3) Probably a massive Cliché, but as a fanboy completionist: Did the quest ever have a true 'Final Boss' as Zion was for Worm? If not, did you have plotlines prepared beforehand or were you going to build the story around player decisions?

If you want a sequel quest, it would be pretty easy to have an AU Taylor quest (though I would prefer Alexandria or Armsmaster as the protagonist). I personally would like the premise of 'older Atlas tossed into Canon' , if not as a quest than a one-shot (I am would be honoured to attempt an omake for this with your permission!)

But really, at the end of the day I'm grateful for the many, many sleepless nights I spend trawling this thread, and I wish you good luck in any future endeavours.

Do excuse me, because now I need to find a corner to cry in.

Edit: I too would love to see the dev notes if possible!
