The C-Rank: The Phoenix Rising Part 2
Masamune led you and your team through the winding corners of the palace. The wooden fortress was massive, and as you were led through it, the courtiers bowed as he walked past them. As you trailed behind, their looks went from respect to disdain.
'The tree huggers are here' was just one of the many insults that you heard thrown your way.
Tsunade tried her best to ignore it but shot glares back at them. Nanako just kept a hand on Tsunade's shoulder, to keep her from moving away, while you stayed by Masamune's side.
None of the courtiers were a threat, but you were just staying safe and putting your body between him and everyone else.
The sleeping mat was against the wall, with large dressers dotting around the room. A bookshelf and desk were also there, resting by a window that overlooked the city.
"Shut the door." Masamune ordered as he lifted up his sleeping mat.
"What the hell is going on?" Tsunade asked as you shut the door.
"Can you talk without speaking?" Masamune asked as he pulled up a large scroll. He then opened it up and revealed it was a … very detailed schematics of the palace complex.
You cast your genjutsu over everyone. "Yes, we can." You replied with a smile.
Masamune looked very frightened at hearing your voice, but he recomposed himself surprisingly well for a civilian. Far better than a normal civilian, but you had to guess that he was not a normal civilian.
"Good," Masamune stated. He then took a deep breath. "I need your help."
"Obviously." Tsunade stated.
"If your mad about the comment I made about you and your friends, please know that I made that comment to throw off the bastard." Masamune stated.
"And why should we believe that?" Nanako replied.
"Because the man you met is not my father… at least not my truly my father." Masamune stated.
That made you raise an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
"My father is dead," Masamune stated. He then tapped the schematics and rolled up them up, Tieing them up and putting it on his back with his boken. "And I need your help before whoever is wearing his skin destroys everything in the Land of Fire."
"This has gone over all the mission parameters," Nanako stated. "We need to bug out and get Danzo Sensei."
Masamune sighed. "You'll never get out of the place without help. We've been followed by the basterds men since you arrive." He then walked over to one of the dressers, and slide it over. There was a pole attached to a large hole in the palace's wall. It went down pretty far. "This will take us all the way down to the stables."
There was a banging on the door. "Masamune! Are you in there?" A guard shouted.
There was silence, as everyone stays still, and you quietly cast a genjutsu.
Genjutsu:
1D100 => 86+20 (They're civilians)=106 vs
1D100 => 35-10 (Their civilians)=25
"There not here!" The guard stated.
Your heart was not racing, it was calm… something you were extremely proud of.
"GO!" Masamune stated, sliding down the pole as the guards got away.
Quickly, you and your team slide down a pole.
"Gonna be a tight fit until I open the roof." Masamune stated.
And you figured that out when you landed on top of Tsunade and Nanako.
"Ow… Ayako. Get off." Tsunade groaned.
"I know. Get off us Ayako" Nanako stated.
Then there was light, and then you fell some more, landing in a huge pile of hay.
"Sorry about that," Masamune stated. "Kojuro, is Danzo alright?"
Danzo situation:
1D100 => 70
"He's fine." The other voice stated. "The sake should help dilute the poison. The dose was too small for any lasting damage to his chakra coils. He should regain consciousness in a few minutes."
You turned to see Danzo leaned against one of the stables, and a man with a long green coat, glasses and a flute on his side. The sword was resting against the stable walls. And by the ground, there was a small set of samurai armor. Fit for Masamune. "The armor as you requested lord."
"Thank you Kojuro," he stated. Masamune turned to you. "You are correct, what I hired you for was to protect me until I can kill the man. In a sense, you have already completed that mission. I would not blame you for taking your leave here… But I must ask you to stay."
"And why the hell should we?" Tsunade stated.
"Because I need a good second, and Kojuro is too valuable to me for after this to die. Good advisors and good friends who are loyal to me are hard to come by these days." Masamune stated. "And to be honest, I need a ninja's skillset, not a samurai's."
Than Danzo's eyes fluttered open. "Ack." he then coughed out blood. "How?"
"I took the liberty of springing you out of the dungeons," Kojuro stated. "It's amazing how everyone forgets the history of this family. The daimyo's family members who wanted to get away from the court life were thrown in the dungeon, but they could escape it if they knew how to. I don't blame them of course, but they showed their cowardness by not staying."
Danzo looked at you. "The scroll is safe?"
You nodded.
"Good," Danzo stated. "That's a Phoenix bomb."
That made you tilt your head in confusion. Nanako however, stepped back in horror. "You brought a Phoenix bomb?! You know how powerful those are?"
Danzo showed no emotion. "I helped Mito create them."
Tsunade than asked. "What's a Phoenix bomb?"
Danzo tried to move but could not. "That bomb is powerful enough to bring down the palace. I developed it with Mito when I was young so that I had a tool for taking down bandit fortifications whenever I was on a solo mission. It's a building buster… most of the time Konoha uses it for construction when we do not want to risk a fire breaking out."
"Why did we bring one… and why did you give it to Ayako?" Nanako asked.
"It was the backup plan. I was planning on killing the Daimyo if he was not going honor his…" He stopped before shaking his head as if he remembered who he was talking too. "Sorry, S-rank secret."
Ah, and you wanted all the juicy details. "So what do we do?" You asked.
"I'm going to challenge the man who is using my father's body as a puppet. Or skin, or whatever." Masamune stated.
What do you do:
[]Stay: You are going to help Masamune, because that's what your being paid to do.
[]Go: You have been lied to, and nearly killed by this kid. Plus, Danzo might need help. Hopefully he won;t mind if you steal his horses (Mission ends in failure)
If You stay, what do you do?
[]Game of Death: Masamune is going to challenge his father… What the hell is he thinking? He'll die unless… what game is he playing?
[]The Ninja Way: You are going to kill the Daimyo by way of trickery, subterfuge… and poison… Thankfully Tsunade has some poison on her.
[]Bomb threat: Sometimes, you have to use trickery to get someone to break down and confess their wrongdoing.
[]Blow some shit up!: You've got a bomb… time to make use of it by bringing this bitch down.

AN: Enjoy.
