(Danzo POV)

The tea that was served was bitter and poorly made. Whoever made it needed to get fired for doing such a terrible job.

"I hope you like my tea Danzo?" The Daimyo stated. "I grew the tea leaves myself."

You sighed, great, now you cannot complain about the Tea, except not drink any more of it. "Terumune, I'm not here to critique your terrible tea."

There was a laugh. "I know… it's rather unfortunate that you are here alone instead of with your old team. We had some fun together." Terumune than handed over a small photo. It was black and white, with Terumune standing above Danzo and his team, next to Tobirama. Both daimyo and your team were in battle gear, and each was covered in scratches, cracks, and blood. Although the scarring of battle was far more noticeable on your team. "Tobirama's lessons saved my life."

You sighed. "You had plenty of skill on your own. Fighting us just proved it." The photo reminded you of the good old days. It was a painful memory, but a cherished one, that you hoped would repeat. "I believe you wanted all of us to become part of the Twelve Guardians after that day."

"The offer is still open," Terumune stated. "You don't have to listen to Hiruzen any more or listen to anyone save for a someone who cares about your opinion."

You nodded. "I have responsibilities at home, and to the children under my command. You of all people should understand what responsibility means."

"I understand…" His face, however, showed hurt, like he was expecting a different answer. "an all Kunoichi force… I'm surprised that you did not complain about it." Terumune replied.

"They're special." You replied. "I'm sure you've heard of Jiraiya and that blasted book he wrote."

That earned a smile. "Yes, the Konoha Crusaders… A very interesting title." He paused and looked forward. "How many of them are on your team?"

"Two of them… easily the strongest and smartest of those children." You stated.

There was still silence, as Terumune took a sip of his tea and pursed his lips, before sighing. "You know why I asked for your team in particular, instead of Hiruzen's?"

"No, I thought it was because I was the second in command?" You replied.

"Because… The heiress of the Senju clan, the Kuruma brat, and that civilian girl will be perfect hostages and the leverage I need to… coerce the other Daymio into acting."

You stood up and tried to move, but then you felt strange, and then, you felt immobile.

Terumune sighed and stood up, looking away. "I'm surprised you didn't notice the poison in your tea?"

The bitterness… No.

It was then you felt that you could not move your body. Your limbs became heavy, your body collapsing over onto the table, convulsing your own vomit onto the picture. You could barely breathe… but the poison was not lethal. You hadn't finished your tea.

Terumune walked over and lifted your head out of the vomit. "I have learned from a reputable source that you had plotted to overthrow me? Replace me with my son after you do away with me? That does not paint a pretty picture now, does it."

"But in the name of our friendship, I will keep you alive… for now at least, so your Hokage can kill you for me. Treason is a capital offense, and I prefer the sheep to have their blood."

"Why?" You hacked. You could not think straight.

"Because I want to be remembered forever… and the only way I can see that happening is from the destruction of the Shinobi." Terumune stated. He then dropped you onto the floor. "Seal his limbs and send him to the dungeon. I want his confession to be given before Hiruzen gets back from Iwa. And find his students and kill them… And if the boy and his friend try to stop you from killing them, kill them as well."

You were dragged away towards the dungeons before you lost counciousness.
