The Test 3: Falling Back Gracefully, And Nanako's Play
Your mind went to a singular focus. You needed to stop Tsunade from doing something stupid and you needed to regroup.
Danzo was a jounin for goodness sake. Why in all the hell would she just go charging into him head first!
Tsunade has a Plan:
1D100 => 87 vs
1D100 => 28+20 (He's a Jounin! Your Genin, Get Creative!)=48
But then you saw Tsunade's fingers move quickly as she rushed forward. You recognized it instantly as konoha sign.
'I'll buy you some time.'
She was giving you time to escape and plan…
To be completely honest, that was your plan, but now was not the time to go changing things on the fly. Perhaps in a few moments you could all chat about how stupid Tsunade was.
But alas, now was not the time to think about that.
You needed to move before Sensei decided to turn you into something unsavory… And something that would hurt.
You grabbed Nanako's sleeve and dragged her to the treeline.
"What are you doing?" Nanako asked.
'Bravely running away so we can strategize!' You quickly signed as you tried to get to the trees.
"What about Tsunade? She needs help!" Nanako demanded, stopping you from getting to the treas.
You looked to see Tsunade getting sent flying your direction, clearly beaten.
She landed somewhere in the trees out of your view.
'You were saying dear strategist?' You signed.
Nanako than nodded. "Run AWAY!" She shouted. You did not know if she was cowering for real, or was throwing up a ruse to fake out Danzo-Sensei. You did not care to look back, only hearing your own frantic heartbeat and the rustling of leaves.
Danzo follows:
1D100 => 43 (He does not follow)
But Danzo did not follow. Instead he sat down on the ground and pulled out a book from his flack vest pocket. He then started to read.
I'll let the clone deal with it. Time to see how much embellishment that boy did while writing this.
Thankfully, you arrived at the trees without much issue, and you even found Tsunade hanging in one of the tree.
Tsunade for her part, looked okay… Her hair was a mess, she was covered in bruises, her clothes had cuts all over them, and… well your assessment was pretty clear, she was a totally beaten. Thankfully she flipped up and stood on the branches.
Hm... I can see why this was authorized. The kid's got talent. The opening line of his narration is pretty funny, and brings you in.
You cast your genjutsu as you and Nanako hid, with Tsunade watching over you. "You are an idiot." You stated to Tsunade.
"Did you have a better plan?" Tsunade asked.
You nodded. "It's better than yours."
Using a name from the bingo book and changing their voice to trick the enemy into surrendering... clever.
"Well, we need to get the roots, and I have a better plan then what you have." Nanako stated.
"Oh and what is that?" You asked.
Overtly long monologue during a corpse burning is unnecessary... though that was probability something for the civilians.
"Not now. He's still watching us with a clone." She stated. "We'll use that to our advantage."
Wait… when did Danzo have time to make a clone? "How do you know that?"
They walked away... if that's what really happened, they would not have survived.
"I saw him make one." Nanako said. "You would have too if you hadn't turned your back to him when you ran. Now we need to move quickly before he has a chance to turn the battlefield into his own personal killzone."
The tactics on the road... messy, to noticeable to the trained eye. It's a good thing they burned the headbands and looked like refugees otherwise they would have been dead in a day.
"Do you have a plan for that?" Tsunade asked.
Three weeks on the road, detailing only minor training and the basic three jutsu... Acceptable, the entire ninja world knows those three, so showing how it's done is not a crime. And they did pretty well in teaching it too.
"Yes. But first we need to take down that clone that is watching us before we can do anything else." Nanako flipped two kunnai from her pouch and twirled them around for a moment before holding them in reverse grip. "Tsunade, can you move?"
Getting ambushed by bandits? Okay, this is reading like those stupid pulp books that were written when I was a child
"Yes." She replied.
"Stay in the trees, I want you to make sure it does not get away." Nanako than looked at you. "Where's your ninja tools?" She asked.
Secret tunnels in one of the most trafficed merchant city on the continent... Probability something added in by the Information department for misdirection, who would be stupid enough to write about a secret tunnel.
As if you needed to worry about it. 'Hey Kagami… Release restraint level one' The first wing on your arm disappeared and you took a deep breath. 'I need some weapon pouches... with weapons in them.'
A light saber? Tunnel men?... what the hell is that, some sort of specially made katana? This has defiantly been written by a child with an over active imagination.
Kagami chuckled. "Oh yes…" His grumble sent shivers down your spine, as your shadow detached itself from your body. The shadow bubbled and gooped and than began to take form. Four weapon pouches that looked just like the ones Danzo had on his person appeared. Checking them, they were indeed full of shuriken, Kunai and Sabon.
Strapping them on your side, shoulder and right calf, you flipped a pouch to Tsunade.
He spends far to long in Grass doing nothing. The suspence is not even there, he didn't even indicate if there were ninja watching you.
"I already have some." Tsunade stated as she caught them.
You nodded, but then you moved your finger in a circle. Tsunade's eyes widened and a smirk rose.
Your shadow reattached itself to your body, and you gave a mock salute.
They switch points of view to Ringo? Unexpected.
You looked to Nanako "Alright captain… what's the plan?" You asked.
Nanako started to sign. 'Ten o'clock, two hundred meters, underground is where the clone is at. I need you to bring him up to the surface.'
Oh... Well now... that changes everything.
You nodded.
She turned to Tsunade. 'Sneak above and start throwing a Kunai on my mark.'
Who knew the kid was so good at writing the monotony of being stationed at the boarder outpost.
Tsunade nodded.
You both moved, Nanako right behind you.
You approached the displaced dirt, and they shifted as the clone rose. You did not feel frightened, you turned and gave a happy smile, with a kunai in your hand, blocking the stab that would have gotten you in the chest.
Hm... so thats why they were piggybacked to the Village.
Nanako's Part:
1D100 => 82 vs
1D100 => 14
Nanako leaped onto the Clones back, holding the clone's arms up in a headlock. "Now Tsunade!"
Tsunade's Aim:
1D100 => 52
The book is.... decent.
The Kunai found it's mark on the clones head and the clone collapsed into water, the kunai hitting the ground harmlessly at her feet.
The clone was now only watering the grass.
"Yes!" Nanako celebrated.
"Um, we still have to get the roots." Tsunade stated as she jumped down from the trees.
Oh, they finally killed the clone. Time to get serious.
"I know." Nanako replied. "But just give me a second to think."
What do you do:
[]Allow Nanako to come up with another plan: She came up with a pretty good one so far… maybe lightning will strike twice and you can win this.
[]Come up with your own Plan: Nanako was lucky, you think you can come up with a better plan… one that does not involve luck taking out a clone and Tsunade's bad aim.
-[]Write in below what your plan is.
