An idea comes to mind as you face off with the killer bunny, it's blood red eyes turning to glare at you as you focus on the original power of your boon. Your brow seems to burn as you draw upon the gifted strength, an incomparable feeling taking over as you become certain of a single thing. This creature will serve you whether it is wishes to, or not.

Dim golden light radiates from you for a brief moment before a golden crown encased in a book materializes and then charges at the unsuspecting animal, screeches of pain coming from it shortly after impact as it collapses to the ground and begins to shake. Time seems to slow as you feel a connection being forged to the little beast, the fur at the top it's hair beginning to burn as a symbol takes shape upon it until a crude crown is carved upon it. Everything seems to come to a finish the moment the crown take's shape, a clear mental bridge forming between you and the Vicious Rabbit as you come to understand it at a level that far surpasses what you understand of yourself.

Just a thought is enough to make this new minion throw itself to it's death... It's a strange, disconcerting feeling to hold this degree of control over another being's life, but you're pretty sure you could get used to this. A smile spreads on your face as you order your follower to keep up and set out to take care of your work. Along the way you find a sizable branch and use your axe to trim it into a simplistic club in case you run into more of the little furball's brethren, better to salvage what valuables you can considering your current wealth.

By the time the sun is not far from setting you've managed to harvest nine Golden Leaf plants. Four of them are rather poorly harvested, but you do manage to gather two of them in absolutely perfect condition with some help from your new servant, apparently the creature is rather useful for finding and digging up herbs even hunting down three of the plants you ended up harvesting. However, just as you're beginning to think about heading back you stumble across a clearing with an animal's corpse lying in it.

A Forest Bears mostly intact remains are at the heart of the clearing, it's body covered in bite and claw wounds that you're fairly sure is a clear sign of Green-pelt Wolves though why they'd leave a source of food intact and out in the open is a bit strange. Perhaps you should take this chance to get a few items to sell when you go back?

Yep nope the obvious trap.

That is pretty smart, ambush more food while its busy harvesting/eating the first one.

Green-pelt Wolves are considered Dangerous Beasts as they are only slightly mutated from the chaotic mana of the Demon Army's arrival. Roughly the size of large dogs with pelts that take on leaf patterns allowing the animals to hide among the branches of trees with relative ease. They rarely form packs and are often only found in groups of two or alone meaning they are prime targets for aspiring Wood Rank Adventurers, though they can prove quite the challenge if you have relatively low skill in fighting. While their meat has little value outside of consumption, their pelts are rather well liked as materials in the production of clothing and armor for rangers or hunters in forested areas.

...

Forest Bears, a seemingly mundane name for a rather terrifying Monster in this region that is almost identical in appearance to the average brown bear. The one distinction that can be spotted is a very faint designs of a band of green thorns appearing on the fur on their head. One must be a Copper Rank Adventurer to take Quests involving these creatures and parties are heavily recommended when dealing with them due to their innate ability to use magic. Forest Bears can use the mana stored in their bodies to bend the forest to their will, causing roots to entangle targets or even cause plants to produce a sleep inducing pollen mist. Fire is recommended to be used to get rid of any nearby foliage before engaging them to lessen their advantage. Their corpses have little of value outside of the wind attributed magic core inside of their brains.

Whatever killed that bear is far beyond us. Don't waste the bunny.

For me there is a win either way, either it's a fake out and the wolves left this creature for some other reason so we are able to extract some resources, or it's a trick and there are some wolves here so it's an opportunity to dominate a wolf, potentially two if the rabbit dies.

Oh hell no, we ain't messing with none of that shit.

Hrrm.
Mostly intact? What about it's head? Might be someone wanted that Wind Core and didn't plan on harvesting anything else. Wasteful as crap but then again...

Anything that can kill that bear is a hell lot stronger than the wolves and the bear isn't even worth much.
Its staged.

If the rabbit is level one, that means it can level and gain strength. Do animals rank up in this world?

It's head is intact, most of the wounds are concentrated on it's neck and legs though there's scattered claw marks and bites across the body.

All you know is that this one does. You'd need to find some books on the subject, or research on it to find out more.

Don't waste the bunny.
We have nothing invested in the Vicious Rabbit beyond our Domination of it. Sure its Herb gathering bonuses are nifty, but all we have to do to get another one if this one gets killed is to take the Vicious Rabbit quest. So if this is a trap and the Rabbit springs it, then it's no real loss, and if it's not a trap then we get a magic wind core out of it (and we get to feed our Rabbit for free I guess).
