Give me a few hours to get home and make a plan.

All that I ask of you all is that you trust in me and in my luck.

I have never let you guys down before and I refuse to start now!

The extra hilarious thing? With that many hunter teams in one spot, even the ones that want to murder each other... just can't. It ends up with a five or more way Mexican Standoff. Then you have the issue that some of the powers would be using false flag protocols and these would immediately fall through due to there being the real deal right there, for everyone. And at least one case of two false flag teams knowing the other guy is full of shit but having to let them in a now useless attempt to maintain their own guise.

Teams get set up to ambush the next guy, only to realize that they are being set up by the guy behind them. And so on until it turns out it is actually a full circle. An ambush circlejerk? Sounds about right. "Cheese it! Its the fuzz!"

The minor villages who are way out of their depth would skip most of this and just end up in a really weird diplomatic meet with each other as they try to stand outside of the blast radius.

And one final bit of hilarity? Zetsu was on the list. EVERY Village simultaneously discovered Zetsu. All of them. ALL OF THEM. Madara is never letting him live this down.

When did Naruto turn into a Three Stooges routine? Or a Scooby Doo chase scene?

No... Zetsu was... Well, looks like Zetsu's going on a killing spree. It's nice that he's clearing the way for us.

And yes, everybody is (For a lack of better words) pointing guns at each other, but are too chicken shit scared of starting a ninja world war (Many of them have children who have only just been born at this point, so they are not willing to risk it) to pull the trigger. So their just standing there, menacingly looking at each other until they decide to walk away.

When did Naruto turn into a Three Stooges routine?
Around the same time, Madara and Zetsu thought it was a good idea to force a change in the status quo.:V

Who is getting the pieces-parts Zetsu left behind?

Nyuk nyuk nyuk. Whoop whoop whoop whoop whoop.

You know, when you get back, and you talk to Jiraiya and make him your friend, in between missions you can actually write the classic literature from Aka's world.

Edit: Thanks for the idea.

[X] Plan Talking
[X]Talk around the Tavern: Maybe you can find a wayward traveler who can lend you 50,000 Ryu to buy a pass and get out of this city.
[X]Cash in the Bounty (Covertly): You are going to cash in the bounty that two nin are worth. Hopefully, Aka's form will be good enough for the city to think you are just a wandering ninja or mercenary.
[X]Train Taijutsu: While Sakumo and Yoshi aren't the greatest teachers, they both have a solid grasp on Taijutsu, and can help you learn.
[X]Spend Time with Sakumo: Sakumo and you are sharing the leader roll. You trust his judgment, but he always seems to talk to you about issues of supply and morale… Why?
[X]Spend time with Asahi: Asahi while still feeling better about her revived hive, is still… antsy.
[X]Eien
[X]Yoshi
[X]Minako
[X]Jiraya

Okay, this is all about shoring up weaknesses. For our actions, I want to focus on getting out of here. Hopefully the bounty will be enough, but if we get any good ideas at the tavern, great! More importantly, we have already stated that we're refugees so we can't just suddenly act like we're trying to settle down. That would be a giant blinking red light to anyone paying attention. I want to train Taijutsu because it's what we're most likely to rely on in the city and ninjutsu training would be pretty obvious. Sakumo and Asahi are the two Social ties most likely to blow up in our faces if we don't pay attention to it.

For our free time, I want to spend time with the people in the group that we haven't been able to so far. Let's make sure we aren't developing fissures.

Shockingly, this seems to be the first idea we've given you that isn't terrible for us.
Which makes me extremely suspicious of any Jiraya interactions!
[X] When you get back to Konoha stay 100 ft away from Jiraya at all times.
Hey now there's a vote going on and we're not in konoha yet... Take out that X unless your voting.

Beliefs and Love
Beliefs and Love

(Mako POV)

Your stomach churned as your husband walked in. "I'm back." He said, his voice drained.

He saw you and walked forward. His footsteps could be heard, his body relaxed. He only ever did it around you.

One of the many things you loved about him. He trusted you to know where he was at all times.

He sat down next to you and allowed your head to rest on his shoulder. "Everything alright?" He asked.

You didn't say anything but held him in your arms. He understood what was going on, and wrapped his arms around you. "Anything?" You whispered.

He nodded no.

"Do you believe she is still alive?" You asked Keizo.

You closed your eyes. Your baby girl was gone. For so long, you thought you could become better for her, that your daughter and your family could wash away the sins of your past. That someday, you could no longer scream at the mirror, to force Hotaru to take control as you froze in battle.

But it seems that the gods, spirits or whatever was watching over you did not approve of your attempts to redeem yourself.

First, your mother in law died… murdered, you were sure of it. She was far too skilled, and she was a good friend with her beast.

Someone was trying to keep you quiet or discourage you from getting too involved in village politics. Your recent actions and power moves within the clan made the elders bow to you and Ryuju, your status as the Teacher of one of the great clans heir, Sakumo Hatake, and your friendship with Mito Uzumaki made sure of that.

Of course, you used to have political aspirations as a child, you wanted to be Hokage. You wanted to lead the village and protect it from all harm.

You wanted to embody the Will of Fire like Lord Hashirama had. To protect the village.

You thought being a great ninja would protect the village.

Then the war ended, and Danzo made you an offer at the time, you couldn't refuse.

Help him establish his ROOT Unit, and he would support you in a bid to become Hokage or at least an advisor for Hiruzen.

You accepted. As a nieve teenager who did not have anyone else save for a betrothal set up by your parents before you died, with a man whom at the time, did not love, it was perfect, only staying with him and his mother because it was better than sleeping in an empty apartment, eating premade foodstuffs. He gave you a set of ANBU armor and a mask and gave you the title 'Jackel'

At first, it was just assassination missions and protecting clients, things that you had done before during the war. The fact it was peacetime made you uneasy, but Danzo said that preemptive actions can prevent wars from breaking out.

Then he asked you to kidnap children. You had thought it was training and clan sponsored tests. The entire briefing read like training. You thought it was just to test clan compound defenses, and you were chosen because you were the best.

Taking them away, you did your best to reassure them that soon that they would be back home, that it was only an exercise in pointing out breaches in defenses.

You set them down in the headquarters and played with them, telling them the same lie that you believed was the truth. Their parents would come and pick them up soon in the morning.

It was only after you met the first of the new root recruits, a small civilian boy whom you shared a loaf of bread with before you left back to your home did you finally break and realize what you have done.

Danzo lied to you about your missions and used you.

You told Hiruzen, but he told you that there was nothing he could do. The way he said it filled you with sadness, as if he wanted to do it some other way, but his hands were tied.

You never blamed him… you only blamed Danzo for his lies.

You quit ANBU on the spot, warning Hiruzen that if Danzo ever asked her for help again, you would kill him.

For a few months, you were just a husk, coming and going through movements. Missions felt like a routine that you did. You just wanted your pain and guilt to end. You wanted to die.

Mission after mission, you threw yourself into attack after attack, wishing for it all to end. But it never came.

And then Keizo did the impossible and saved your soul. He was your pillar in the desert of guilt. He may not know everything about what you did, but he was there for you.

Slowly, over the course of your pregnancy, you reconnected with your friends… the ones that were still alive anyway, and made new ones like Mito.

And when your daughter was born, and you came back to life.

You opened your eyes to see Keizo hugging you tightly. "I know she is… She's our daughter, and she's with her friends and Sakumo and Minako. I know she can get home with them."

He then kissed your pregnant belly. "We just to have faith. Just as I had faith in you."

You held each other in your arms for a while. Preying for your daughter and her friends to come home safely.
Reward: Minako regains Trait: Inheritor of the Will Of Fire.
Trait revealed for Keizo: Inheritor of the Will Of Fire.
If you make it to the border of Rain and the Land of Fire: +100 to all rolls if you are being chased by enemy hunters or Zetsu.

AN: Enjoy this quick Rush omake before Work.

Good luck with that.
Don't rule it out. He doesn't have surgically implanted plot armor... and remember that illusions can become real. Carve into the world the words 'if Danzo asks me for help again, he will die then and there' deep enough and with the right pen and it could become a self enforcing contract. Higher level mysteries in Naruto, which are very much in play, work like that sometimes.

Would you like to make a contract?
Sounds like a profitable meeting point.
For anyone and everyone who doesn't have a standing vendetta. And considering that half these Villages didn't exist during the last war.

The spittakes that would occur if we stumbled into that meeting by way of natural 100...

[X] Plan Redeemers
-[X]Kids Wander the City: Maybe you can get information from one of the locals about any secret ways out of the city.
-[X]Cash in the Bounty (Covertly): You are going to cash in the bounty that two nin are worth. Hopefully, Aka's form will be good enough for the city to think you are just a wandering ninja or mercenary.
-[X]Train Jutsu: The Academy three Jutsu, the Henge, the Bushin, and substitution technique are the backbone of all ninja. You must master them before learning anything else. Thankfully Orochimaru and Sakumo and Minako know how to teach it well enough.
-[X]Spend Time with Tsunade: Tsunade is diving head first into the medical-nin scroll that the Missing-nin had, but she's doing… amazing. How is she doing it?
-[X]Spend time with Asahi: Asahi while still feeling better about her revived hive, is still… antsy.
-[X]Sakumo
