Okay lets see

The first part say that the Twins will give birth to two heirs,
The second part implies that a 'distant' relation will cause betraly and thus the doom
The third part says that a pure union will great something great, probably the blessing the gods talked about,

'Pure Union' implies incest, and the Lannister kind at that, meaning that Joffery is our savior,

... Well it could be worse

Didn't rman had sacred forest that shouldn't be touch ?
Some. I believe the understanding was that the gods would kill whoever set foot in those forests, which is to say that its exactly what the Romans believed of forests in general, and that those forests were just too badass to murder.

Think theres a character that didn't show up properly.

[X] Declare Argurios and Semni unfit to care for the children and take them in as Isidoros' wards. This prophecy might yet turn into a boon if the children are taken proper care of.

This might end in disaster, but considering the Argurios now thinks Semni is some kind of evil fae, I can't see that ever ending well either if we try to force the matter. Its the stuff Greek Tragedies are made of.

[X] Do nothing. To meddle with the designs of the gods rarely ends well for mortals.

Welcome to Greek prophecies 101. For those of you unfamiliar, here's your primer:

Any attempt to prevent a prophecy or the result of a prophecy inevitably causes the result to happen. Leave well enough alone. Thank you.

Mind you that the prophecy has two possible outcomes, so there is wiggle room to slant things in your favor. That is, if you are confident to have the meaning figured out and show a steady hand in dealing with this.

[X] Speak with Argurios to salvage this marriage. If he can learn to accept his wife, so might she accept him.

I'm pretty sure it's the opposite. Kids born of incest will fuck things up. However, it's only the local God that mentioned the whole "purity," bit. Pretty sure that our gods only said "yeah this will suck or rule, have fun!" I really think we need to learn more about that local God, especially what they consider "pure"

Ok, so let's go through all are options.

[] Do nothing. To meddle with the designs of the gods rarely ends well for mortals.

Let events play out according to the whims of fate. Could be good, could be bad.

[] Bid Semni to stay with her people. This marriage was a mistake and if she stays away with her children, whatever ill fate they carry will not fall upon Hyphyria.

Stupid idea, no guarantee they won't come back to haunt us in some matter.

[] Have the children seized and killed. As horrible a deed it would be, it is the only way that surely twarts the prophecy spoken about them.

Literally Oedipus. The dumbest idea here. History has proven this stupid. Don't do it.

[] Speak with Argurios to salvage this marriage. If he can learn to accept his wife, so might she accept him.

Entirely Dependent on how good we are at talking sense into Argurios. If it goes well, maybe everything goes great. Based off his current fears and worries, could make everything exponentially worse by "confirming" his suspicions about Semni.

[] Declare Argurios and Semni unfit to care for the children and take them in as Isidoros' wards. This prophecy might yet turn into a boon if the children are taken proper care of.

Still a little close to Oedipus for my liking, but it could be interesting. Arguirios probably won't care. Still, hell hath no fury...

Uuggghhh Augurios

I mean if this fails we can have Seimi and Isidarios take primary custody I GUESS

But seriously, prophecies are nothing less than a titanic pain in the ass. I propose that we just do what we would do normally. Although getting the prophecy kids a good upbringing seems like a good idea.

Those stories usually employ hilariously over-complicated murder plots, since it's usually the father trying to kill his son and thus he has to do things in a very roundabout fashion, lest he draws the attention of the Erinyes for slaying his own kin.

Isidoros is no blood relative of the kids though. He would just order some soldiers to take them and stab them while watching himself to make sure it's done.

Trying to meddle with prophecy is useless.
Trying to stop our two hero units from eventually killing each oother however might be worth the time.
And Argurios is an overly dramatic drunk.

He should remember that he leapt over fire, hands joined, with Semni before a god.

Course, they could do the prophecy while dead too...

I have no faith in that not causing delayed karma a few years down the road.

Also I grew up on Percy Jackson and the olympians, so that may be effecting my bias somewhat.

There's a special character here that my Firefox doesn't like - past the BLOOD O
And usually these prophecies tend to be the self-fulfilling kind. You try to avert the disaster and by that action make it happen.

Okay, prophecy deciphering time:
1)Two children, born as one.

Subject: RE:Twins

2)Two Heirs will be born to them.

They will have a successor each. Note TO, not OF, they don't have to biologically produce the heirs.
Note if you kill them a gribbly arising from the corpse or their parents carrying a grudge can count.
If you forbid them from ever marrying they'd just have said heirs out of wedlock.
If you neuter them(pls nobody even think that) they can still go on to raise an heir via mentorship.
As long as SOMETHING inherits their spoopyness its an heir.

3)Blood of own blood will herald betrayal

This is the most flexible part. A few ways to read it:
-Spilling blood of kin will herald betrayal.
--Kill the twins and surprise, their grandfather is not going to be happy at all. Who could have seen that coming?!
--You can also take it once removed, if locals spills greek blood or vice versa, they will be betrayed.
---This is a likely consequence of sending Semni home. A marriage is an alliance. Sending her home means you refuse to acknowledge it.

-Their children(they are blood to both peoples, so the generation after is Blood of own blood) will herald betrayal of some sort. Who's the one betrayed?
--If we do nothing or push for them to keep trying to make the marriage work, the children probably will come to resent one of their parents, which would probably lead to an Accident that is not.
--If we seize the children they're probably going to betray either the man who raised them, or their blood parents, depending on the upbringing.

4) But a union pure will sow greatness

-With the former ominous blood context, the union pure can simply refer to a marriage that WORKS. No bad blood.
--If we make the marriage work somehow, this will be super awesome.

-Pure may refer to racial purity...but the kids are of mixed greek and local blood.

-Pure may also refer to a love-match marriage. Rare, but hardly unheard of.

-Alternatively you can go Lannicest, which isn't exactly unknown to the Greeks(considering Hera and Zeus were siblings)
--But this is squick and hell no to forcing it. We'd probably pretend we didn't see anything if they did wind up that way though.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Lets not push the suicide button, shall we?

EDIT:
[X] Declare Argurios and Semni unfit to care for the children and take them in as Isidoros' wards. This prophecy might yet turn into a boon if the children are taken proper care of.

Kindly old Isidoros is going to teach them the joy of numbers and, most importantly, set theory.

Where else are you going to find pure unions?

EDIT:
I'm half tempted to write in that we have Argurios and Semni assassinated so that they can't fuck this up.

set theory.

As much as the mathematician in me likes this, it is unfortunately unavailable as it was formalized by Kantor and Dedekind in XIX century AD.

Also, please not assassinate neither Argurios nor Semni. He returned learning a tale about breaking marriage leading to dead villages. If Isidoros can assure Argurios that this marriage is not looked down upon, Argurios will be fine. He has already acknowledged there is hardly a better match for him it terms of wife status.
As much as he detested the thought, Semni was the closest thing to a woman of proper breeding he could have found here, the daughter of what passed for a king among her people. There was wisdom in what Isidoros had decreed, even though it took Argurios a long time to see it.
And killing Semni is a no, it is a humongous trust breach and will likely lead to a war to the death with our neighbours.

In addition, two parents of different religions will give the kids a broader theological education, so they will have more ideas how to dodge prophecies.
