I thought the Help option came together with Argurios learning the languages, not organising the troops? Please keep in mind that women have NO place around hoplites. She really should be inside if she were a proper woman.
Having Semni "help" Argurios will be a major distraction.
Oh my bad.I thought the Help option came together with Argurios learning the languages, not organising the troops?
Then I do not even know what to do with her. Perhaps make her learn proper Greek?Oh my bad.
Point still stands for somebody like Argurios though. He's a noble man learning from his barbarian wife. The only thing she should be doing is look pretty if it were up to him.
It's heavily implied he only sees her as sex toy who learns fast.
Then I do not even know what to do with her. Perhaps make her learn proper Greek?
Being the leftovers from a dying city, we do have some leeway to invent some new traditions, based on 'it needs to be done'.
Oh, it's a nice "get your shit together or perish" situation. Where the old recipes might not work any longer.
[X] Argurios
-[X] Learn the tongue of the local folk. Though not the most skillful or diligent pupil, Argurios is sure to get the most use from it, but Isidoros would be swifter in study

-[X] Help Argurios
@Duesal How can Semni help Argurios learn a tongue, she does not know? The Sardinians do not speak the same tongue as the mainland locals.
She knows other tongues and cultural contexts@Duesal How can Semni help Argurios learn a tongue, she does not know?
That might be true, but would she not still need to learn the tongue, before she can effectively help Argurios? Like your arguments is more about how it would be easier for her to learn it, than him.She knows other tongues and cultural contexts
Like its easier to go from German to French than German to Arabic
She helps by being faster to learn the language, thus giving him additional incentive. That might be true, but would she not still need to learn the tongue, before she can effectively help Argurios? Like your arguments is more about how it would be easier for her to learn it, than him.
I wonder if @Azel and @DragonParadox would let both have her learn the language and give a actually bonus to Argurios's attempt to learn it too, or if we would have to choose one or the other. She helps by being faster to learn the language, thus giving him additional incentive.
That's not what I meant to convey. What I tried to express here is that both Argurios willingness and capability to perform a coup are not hinging on a single action.Coup fears seem unfounded after Azel's clarification... and we really need the fighting men organized again.
... and that's exactly what it is? On the other hand, sending them to our neighbours where they had ample opportunity to build alliances, that's not exactly sidelining, is it?As it is, sending him and his unwilling wife away from Hyphyria on a trip to study languages from the locals will look a lot like sidelining both of them in response to last turns debacles.
