Academic curiosity, how would meltdown prevent activation of remaining nuclear fuel via high energy compression?

Or is the fuel exhausted?
We could Gran Rey Cero the Sarcophagus into dust and all we'd get is a radioactive dust cloud. Fuel rods don't explode, they melt. Hence meltdown. What usually happens is the molten fuel then starts melting everything around it until it reaches the coolant lines or water pipes, and the flash vaporization causes an explosion.

Which isn't to say we should Gran Rey Cero the Sarcophagus into dust. I have the feeling that would get Unohana mad at us.

@Omicron, the way I understand it, the reason arrancars can do Gran Rey Cero and hollows can't is because arrancars have zanpakutos, which give them access to their inner worlds. Is that correct? If so, does an arrancar need to have their zanpakuto with them to perform Gran Rey Cero?

But the reaction is basically based on the fuel density and purity no? So compression should still trigger rad flares(if not lasting ones)

Eeeeeh, not really. Subatomic physicist I am not, so I won't be getting technical, but enriching radioactive materials for fuel rods is different then what you do for bombs. I suppose if you shove enough energy at a fuel rod it might explode at some point, but I've never heard of such a thing ever happening, and even if you did I'd honestly be more worried about the initial blast then any sort of follow ons that might get produced.

This.
What Chernobyl became, was a huge dirty bomb.
Imagine a high pressure cooker exploding, basically.

Most of the fuel rods just disintegrated into dust and contaminated surroundings, fine dust going high enough to be part of clouds, and coming down with rains hundreds of kilometers away from Chernobyl.

What remains in the sarcophagus is a whole lot of radioactive dust and fuel rod fragments, but to get enough of them together in one place and press them tightly enough to get anything approaching critical mass is basically impossible, let alone being wrong isotopes for an atomic bomb.

The most that can happen is the repeatition of the original incident, with the fighting getting enough dust high into the atmosphere to get another radioactive dust cloud going around.

[x] Remember.

So basically I sort of hope that after this Nemo's mask returns to roughly how it was before, but that she can to the Vizard thing and move it around or even take it off when she wants to.

Now I have to imagine that Fourth Weave La Marana piece is going to be a mask Nemo can put on the gap of her actual mask for Maximum Ressurection.

Now I wish to see a sequel to the occult Omake- a conspiracy board, filled with semi-medium's reports on weird hapennings in living world.

"DEFUNCT REACTOR EMITTING POTENT ENERGY. EVIDENCE OF SECRET EXTRATERRESTRIAL GOVERNMENT EXPERIMENTS?!"

On the one hand that update was fantastic and stopped at a very natural break.

On the other hand gods damn you for that cliffhanger.

[X] Remember.

I know it's basically just a token "There's more coming but this is a good stopping point", but I want to show solidarity T_T

Nah nah nah. The fact that there's only one vote option makes you think that voting doesn't matter. This is a trap. In the words of Hollow Sartre "You must always remember your freedom, inaction is also an action, you always possess the option to not eat the delicious delicious people. Though I would recommend eating them. So delicious."

The number of people who vote to remember will determine how much she remembers.

Less than ten people? Failure. Nemo Degenerates.

10-20 people. Sucess.

20-40 people. Nemo remembers her human name.

40-100 people. Nemo breaks through the effects of Kyoka Sugietsu over her memories and realises that every time she has seen him Aizen has been secretly naked. #NoPantsLife

100+ people. Nemo remembers a really nice waffle recipe her mother taught her.

...Well fahck that just happened.

Random, I hope you're prepped for one fuck of a reactionary omake at some point, because jesus christ how do you even fit this awesome shit into an AU!manga.

AUManga still follows the main cast, so they don't get to see the fight. At most they see mentions of it when Nemo brings it up to Ichigo.

I seriously have trouble writing environmental fight scenes. My instincts are always to look at each character's abilities, compare how they would fare in a vacuum, and write them in a vacuum.

White room fights are way way easier to write.

So kudos on managing this so well.

Though many governmental departments may be wondering what the fuck happened in the Exclusion Zone and who ruined the poor innocent iconic Pripyat Ferris Wheel.

It's because the 219th episode of Bleach is an absurd anomaly in animation quality

Yeah I remember that. It's literally only that fight as well, every other Winter War fight has the standard quality level.

Not complaining of course, the fight looks amazing, it's just weird.

I do wonder how Ichigo would react to that bit of knowledge actually. Especially since he himself has undergone the apparently horrifying experience of hollowfying (even it did not fully complete with him).

Encroachment is absurdly excruciatingly painful.

When we see it happening to Ichigo in the Shattered Shaft it totally immobilises him whenever it happens.

Also I want Nemo to grab a sapling from the Red Forest and keep it in a little pot in her workshop.

It would make a very nice addition to her spooky clothing workshop.

Her absurdly creepy workshop that she somehow doesn't realise how creepy it is to everyone.

Jars of her own blood, autotrophs, a hollow skull used as a needle holder...yeah a ghost sapling from the Exclusion Zone would fit right in.

Well, we're currently at a 108 to two. It's close: I think we can still turn this vote around. :V

I love writing fight scenes.

This entire Quest is one long exercise in forcing myself to sit down and actually write character development and build-up so that when a fight scene comes it has actual stakes and struggle and meaning.

Once I get to the moment where the fight starts I am just happily typing off all the cool stuff I was thinking about and was delaying until now. So these updates are actually really easy and quick to put out.
"Your action self is not your true self. You are not a sleeping demon, putting on a mask, playing games of pretend while waiting for the carnage to come. You are yourself: the Writer of Number None, one of the greatest writers in Sufficient Velocity, an artful and creative soul, if one with a passionate and driven heart. Who you were is still there, and it can be awakened. There is a sleeping demon. But it is not your true self. It is just a self."

The fighting was beautifully written with a real sense of tension and motion but the scenes with Nemo's friends are what really stood out to me. It gives a real sense of accomplishment to think about how far Nemo's come and the lives she's touched along the way and they made the fighting in between all the more momentous. Awesome touch.

Yumichika's approval was sweet but doesn't matter nearly as much in comparison.

I'm also hoping, despite the fun freakouts losing it all could cause, that Nemo at least gets the horns of her mask back. She doesn't need to be the most Shinigami of Arrancar to feel special, she accepts all of herself now (hopefully)!

This almost makes me feel bad that we didn't push Nemo to be a more violent character. Both in terms of empathy, it's bad you've had to force yourself so much; and pragmatism, we could've had more and faster updates... This quest has been an epic adventure though!
