[X] Remember.

I love writing fight scenes.

This entire Quest is one long exercise in forcing myself to sit down and actually write character development and build-up so that when a fight scene comes it has actual stakes and struggle and meaning.

Once I get to the moment where the fight starts I am just happily typing off all the cool stuff I was thinking about and was delaying until now. So these updates are actually really easy and quick to put out.

It makes sense that a lot of your writing kicks your ass getting it written, because that's just what your writing does: it kicks ass.

Other thoughts on the update:

So Nemo has been breathing only through her mouth this whole time? I hope, for Cirucci's sake, that she brushes her teeth often. :V

I'm pretty sure Nemo has had a sense of smell mentioned in the past.

Now you have to write an even more kick ass fight seen for when they're fully released. This whole thing wasn't even their final forms.

So lewd. It's worse than handholding! :V

They're for when Nemo is giving Cirucci piggyback rides, of course. They let her steer Nemo!

While the fight scenes were amazing, my favorite moments are probably her mask breaking piece by piece. Nemo feeling the wind on her newly exposed skin, breathing through her nose, smelling for the very first time and finally Yumichika looking upon her human face are one of my all time favorite scenes of this quest. I hope when all this is over her mask remains broken, showing off her change to the world. I can hardly imagine how Cirucci would react to seeing her face.

-[X]Where you left the key to your workshop. You lost it a week ago, and have to resort to descorrer to get in and out. You don't think anyone's noticed yet, but it's only a matter of time, and once Luppi realizes... You really need to remember where you left that key, let's leave it at that.

As long as we're having Espada ride on fraccions using their horns to steer-
Illforte&Grimmjow:No.
Okay uhh...Hrrm.Wait the Tres-
Harribel:None of the Tres Bestias have horns.
Ba-nevermind...*groans*
And last I recalled the Octava's the only remaining dude who even had fraccion and he's got those clone-things.

Nemo's sense of smell would have been blocked by the mask. You know how when you get sick for weeks and you can't smell anything, and then you get better and suddenly smell again?

well replace that with decades with a super muted sense of smell that is suddenly better than literally ever

Not gonna lie, I think Nemo losing the mask entirely is a really fascinating statement. I wouldn't mind much if she just ended up with a smaller mask, but the implications if she simply no longer had a mask at all are way too interesting for me not to hope for it.

Not to mention having Grimmjow pointing all the little smells and indicators your nose picks up but you don't typically think about. She went from no nose to 'I can pick up scent trails that are months old.' and was promptly smote for her foolishness.

I'm surprised that Nemo isn't currently tripping from sensory overload. Then again fighting for her life and in pain.

I really hope that mask stays off. The significance of Nemo coming back to Hueco Mundo with a huge power up and way less of a mask is something I doubt would go unnoticed. Even just the gossip of the numeros at what appears to be a second arrancarization would be a sight to behold.

(Although sadbat's claims of copyright infringement seem to become more valid by the day.)

I asked about that in Discord actually.

What's happening is that Nemo could smell properly before because Weird Hollow Magic, it's just frazzling her because she's actually breathing through her actual nose instead of just the idea of breathing through your nose working just fine.

Same mechanism as to how she can eat and drink and talk despite a gigantic hole in her neck. She could smell because she's not crippled in that sense, even if she has a mask instead of most of a face. She's frazzled because she's breathing because she has a nose instead of 'Because I have a functioning sense', which she always had.

Oh man, if this is actually animated, it'You know? s a Bleach movie production-level of sakuga. The series' production level just can't match the awesomeness if this scene.
You know?

The reason why Findorr was Nemo's main threat in the early Quest - well, first it's because of how you chose to deal with Barragan, and how you played in your first mission.

But out of all the royal Fraccions, the reason why Findorr ended up being the one persecuting Nemo?

It's because the 219th episode of Bleach is an absurd anomaly in animation quality. It includes houses being destroyed in a dynamic way where people are thrown into them and come out roaring, Hisagi kicking off streetlights and rubble to fly at his target, sword tricks like Findorr pushing himself on his blade to dodge a sliding cut, fighting on a bridge with the giant steel cables holding it getting cut and lashing around, people being pinned to walls, an advertisement board getting cut in half, and so on.

It's just so dynamic and strong, and because it's a minor episode featuring a fight between two characters who ultimately don't matter to he Big Captain War, it's, uh, basically one of the things that inspired me to start Number None in the first place.

Hmm, that'd probably symbolize a 'complete' Arrancarization, considering ALL of them kept a small bit of mask with bigger masks linked to imperfect transitions.

Personally I'm thinking we keep the topmost part, so the horns rising from a tiara-like crown(as in the top of something, not as in the kinghat)

that would actualy be realy cool to be honest, and it would show a LOT of characterization as well.
i wonder if anyone would recognize us besides our birb.

Now we just need Nemo to combine the fragments of her mask and all that creepy black blood using La Marana, and the hollow knight comparison circle will be complete.

Also. I lack words to describe how that fight made me feel. Other than good, with a kind of light glowy feeling in my chest?

It was good.
