See the marriage between village and clans. That was Tall-Peak trying to make the strongest possible commitment to an agreement in is culture, while keeping it on a level that he was certain you guys would understand. He was a crafty and clever bastard. Shame that he died so early.

So basically some of the diplomacy malus will end or at least be mitigated once they understand the gravity that blood oaths have in our culture.

Sounds like a GREAT way to spread that part of our culture as well.

Seeing this new trait, I can say one thing.
This can be either the beginning of a new glorious empire, or the first step in our self destruction.

Subjugation is still a successor trait of Ruthlessness. It's a more refined version of stabbing them while they are down already. So no, your capacity to do nasty stuff to people is not hindered, but actually improved.

The other options for dealing with the dead would by the way have gotten you:
Oppression - Greatly enhanced abilities to suppress factions, including martial law and strait up executing faction leaderships.
Terror - Do the Aztec. Sacrifice Pops to gain bonuses to a wide variety of actions, from warfare over diplomacy to stability.
 
So @Azel When are turns going to lengthen? Because, and don't get me wrong i love the story so far, its a bit slow for a civ quest right now. :p

Wow I love Subjugation those two sound less fun, though Oppression sounds awesome well interesting.
 
[X] [Leadership] The tribe needed stronger leaders then the council, thus Snow-Fox and Red-Wolf would lead it as chieftains. (Government becomes Tribal Chiefdom, ???)
[X] [Dead] Bury them by the new rites. The exception made for of lesser clans to keep to their old rites is a privilege that these traitors do not deserve.
 
Turns will lengthen after this fall. There is still something that had been set in motion that I want to resolve in high resolution, but with the White Clans dealt with, there's not much reason to stick to short turns for now.

As a general rule, I will not handle years long wars in one turn and maybe a single mid-turn vote. Resolution will go up again whenever truly important things are happening. (Think the Bronze Age Collapse, the Punic Wars, Persian invasion of Greece, etc.)

Ominous. I really hope that it isn't more Snow People or, hell, Goat People (tho I do want to learn herding from them).

There's a lot more going on around you then the White Clans and the Goat-Men.

I've rolled for stuff.
Stuff happened.
Results poured in.
One of those results is likely going to intersect with you.
 
@Azel I really like the subjugation trait, since it reminds me of historical civilizations like Assyria. Here's hoping we can get libraries soonish. I hate knowledge becoming lost. Also, I really like the quest.

Works great. Next turn we probably want to start on a palisade once we actually have woodworkers though.
We took enough losses that we want more security.

yeah that tends to do bad juju in the long run, but if go the moderate route...we could end up with our own empire!

as well as getting copper and eventually iron armor if we find those deposits. we are in the mountains after all, we just need to find a way to make charcoal early on to get metal-working.

at that point its expansion time!
