Even Further Beyond [Complete]

Extending on Redshirts thinking, 4 and something if we take elder beast and the accompanying social penalty that scales based on how much fate likes us.

Did Titanomachy win, or the living universe thing? Trying to tell a winning option in this thread can be akin to stealing from Scrooge Mcduck (stealing from a evil black dnd chromatic dragon is far the easier option).

Can you refer me to that? I don't doubt you; I just can't navigate the various menus and indexes right now.

Stage VII - Before: 101.2 Months, After: 7 Months
Stage VIII - Before: 1,200 Months, After: 34 Months

We're using the "before" numbers, so at our current rate it'll take 101 months (8.43 years) to get to stage 7.9, an unknown amount of time to break into Immortal Awakening at stage 8.0, and then 1200 months (100 years) to get to peak Immortal Awakening.

I dislike the oath, narratively. Perhaps this is something acceptable once we are well in truly in love and such a thing is merely a preservation. But else, it's... distasteful.
I'm going to be honest, your and others wilfull misconstruing of the Oath to paint it as something sinister or "unnatural"/"fake" is getting tiresome

Because the bolded is exactly what it does.

I am not keen on dodging one bullet by swallowing another thanks.

Remember that Do it For Her doesn't make Nameless any more in love with Aurelia than he would have been otherwise.

It just stops other people from seducing him away or him getting bored of her or distracted, which is important with Spoiled, Vengeful, and Fated Love running away. Basically it acts on a counter to the leashes that the Fates have on Nameless, by making it easier for someone with his best interests at heart to compete with them.

Hm... even if you don't end up converting them to Beyond Points, +2 Mastermind Points could serve a great general function in improving your overall effectiveness at a critical moment such as when you're hunting for the Heroine. What is that worth?!

Aren't people at all concerned about giving the weakest member of our companions a powerup that's implied to be based off of jealousy?

You don't think that cause a teensy few problems?

The Do it for her + lovey dovey combo does nothing for beating the heroine.

I would much prefer Do it for her + Bonus research for the fated love resistance + Azure Flare.

This way at least we have a way of dealing with the Heroine.

Meh. I doubt Nameless is going to have much interest in anyone else after The Princess.

Though, there is a always the heroine!:p

Good. I don't like the Princess. If Xiaoling has the drive to put up a fight against her encroaching, supreme social power, even through jealousy, i'd support that.

At least she is Nameless' childhood friend and someone whose motivations we understand.

Okay, yeah. I see what i did wrong. It's 10'000 months to Stage IX, not Stage XIII.

By this metric even a 20% bonus on top of the Elder Beast's +120% is equal to... what, four years and change instead of slightly under six years? That's pretty good, especially since with Reactor progression we've got nothing else to do in the meanwhile but research and adventure.

Isn't it sad, Mastermind Points?

No that just means she's acting like a bitch to someone who did no wrong to her at all besides actually getting involved with Nameless and Xiaoling had YEARS to do that first.

And I was talking about Jealousy over combat/ability/usefulness or are you saying you're ok with her potentially going all Sasuke-like?

I really look forward to the name vote. I desperately want to see the likes of Alratan and Wolfy laying down the law about optimal name choice, with Rihaku advocating for the dark horse option. (Relia has no chance.)

Aside from the comedy, seeing Nameless struggle against his impulse to be earnest is a delight, but I'd like to see some relief! Let him love.

Yes? It DOES preserve your feelings for the other party in a fake and unnatural way. That 's kind of the whole point to the oath. It would not be a big problem, except we know perfectly well SHE is going to put her principles above her self-interest and that of her beloved whereas Nameless doesn't really have similar devotion to principles. Selling out to her love means selling out to her principles and you'll note she's pretty restrained in talking about those.

So if, for example, she decided that Nameless was too powerful to let live because like Shen and Tyranshal and all the other moral people we've seen thus far she believed power corrupts? Well, even if she tried to kill Nameless or arrange his death or depower him by crippling his cultivation he would still be besotted with her. Perhaps not to the point he'd willingly die for her sake, but to the point he would be crippled in any attempt to deal with her in a hostile way.

That is exactly how the Oath works. It enforces love even when that love should turn sour- kind of like any number of abusive relationships, even if she's bad for Nameless he will have the Idiot Ball with regard to her because he literally CANNOT deal with her rationally.

Giving that kind of advantage to someone the update points out is VERY dangerous in all kinds of ways is not a great idea.
