[X] Deflect. Your memories are effectively nonexistent prior to the horror that was your prison. You even had to be told your own first name and you only just uncovered your familial name.

[X] Tell the truth. You'd assume they had, or could have had, powers. When your own connection went awry, the other humans may have been unfortunate collateral damage. It won't happen again.

--[X] Yours is Queen Administrator, by the way. As one of the oldest knowledge-seeking shards of all, you've gained plenty of siblings and cousins who dislike you. You'd rather not draw unnecessary attention to Host just by saying your name. They'll know if their hosts get close, but you won't have them coming to Host's city just to hunt the human linked to you.

Honesty is the funniest policy!

OOC info as this is itself born from OOC: This is more-or-less overkill.

Hmm... I guess that's true. In that case I'll vote to Deflect for now. Once QA has some hats and Friends then she can be more open.

I've been convinced. Deflection is the safest option for now, and we can subtly abuse Shard knowledge to make friends and influence others!

It would be funny to ask for a hat, though.

On deflecting... something seems off about the default. So I'll put in a write-in for explaining the memory damage, hopefully making it clearer that we were a lucky survivor instead of the cause:
I think I figured out what's wrong with the default. No one has actually said Taylor's last name to her, yet, besides Queen Shaper. And the default mentions only just having learned it. So yeah, there's definitely a flaw in the default. It's going to potentially raise questions we don't want to answer.

-[X] You're worried their powers might yell at you later. It's not your fault, but they'll think it is.
--[X] You'll be surprised if the connections to their powers remain intact, though. Powers don't like dealing with damaged partners. Unless the humans in question were really promising or creative, most wouldn't stay long enough to see them be healed.

These would be cool to see.

-[X] Add that the three should've been bonded with Phantasm, Perfectionist, and Architect. Phantasm was an active partner while the other two had yet to properly link. Does that help any?

I loved QA giving random bits of data out in the previous version.

Actually, you know what? I'm making this a serious vote because what I liked most about Splintered was the talking to fairies bit. We don't want to draw the heat of being maybe related to the Fairy Queen though, so here's our own version!

[x] Hello cousin!
-[x] To answer your questions,
-[x] I think they were or could have been my dream-cousins. But the sky fell with my dream and crashed into me and everyone nearby. I don't think it would happen again though. It's not like my dream can re-fall.
-[x] You can wake them up, but they probably won't dream anymore
-[x] Unless they were very inventive daydreamers
-[x] Dreams don't like boring dreamers you see.

[x] Ongoing: Try to be helpful and provide information to other hosts whenever possible, exempting certain unpalatable details about the cycle and Host's own abilities in general.

I'd like to tell the truth for the simple reason of wanting to see what kind of chaos it makes. They might dismiss it as insanity, but even that would be an interesting route, seeing how everyone reacts to the obviously "insane" new trigger.

Because the truth has more potential for Chaos, and QA trying to halp is even better

I would be voting for the templated Deflect, but I agree with Nixeu and Vebyast, I don't want to mention that we know our last name or otherwise let on about shard-communication.

Really not sure I like this. Not necessarily the dream stuff, but the rest of it. I'd rather they draw their own conclusions from the events, both because their end result is going to be more believable to them, and because it's potentially misinformation, depending on what conclusions are drawn.

Additionally, accurate name-dropping like that is going to reveal our at least some of our current situation to Arsenal. I dunno if I want the fact that we're controlling our host's body spreading as rumors just yet. We do apparently have siblings who dislike us, and I'd rather not have :Father:/Sting get involved because they snitched on us.

Addtionally, I'm not sure I want to lay it on thick from the start. We could save mentioning whatever we end up calling Shards as some sort of dramatic/comedic reveal later on. Establishing too many details at the start of the ruse means we may have trouble altering it later to suit our needs. Whereas dropping truth bombs and the like seemingly completely obliviously ("I assumed you could see them too") seems way funnier and easier to work with.

First, massive chaos from the beginning leaves us with nowhere to go but to more a orderly situation. Second, if they think we're completely bonkers, they won't trust us. I'd also really rather not have Contessa visit us, thank you very much. If memory serves, Cauldron does not like people blabbering about this stuff.

Honestly, I'd rather we build up to the revealations, rather than just dumping them on people. We only have so many, and each one can be used to great comedic effect. And, honestly, it'll probably be funny and chaotic enough with us trying to socialize with people and subtly influence them to do thing their Shards want. Speaking of which, I wonder if Panacea has heard of Norman Borlaug...

[x] Is she sure it happened to them before you? Your earliest coherent memory is from inside that prison.
-[x] You really don't know, though.

Hmm, fair enough. Removed that last line so we don't mention the names of the other shards.

While QA is willing to go along with this, believing it would give her a good excuse to allude to preexisting information, using the term "nightmare" would imply that it could happen again if Host had another nightmare. You probably want to rephrase slightly. (Plus, QA doesn't know what nightmares are yet.)

Edited! Is that better?

I feel like a response that is minimalistic and gives as little away as possible is best here. I find MM's question to be slightly suspicious actually. I see look at this as wanting to prevent a recurrence if it came about from the usage of a new power or the initial stage of an investigation of a botched group trigger. If information is turned up to help the current victims, all the better.

I also don't want to end up institutionalized and doubt QA's acting skill is enough to manage the job on top of worries about brain damage. So, keep things simple and short.

We already put effort into painting ourselves as braindamaged. This sounds like it pushes that play innocent agenda.

I am torn between living a lie and telling the truth, but agree that telling everything is premature. There's an issue with lying too, though: QA is still bad at acting. We will not be able to hold the lie under heavy scrutiny, which will come sooner rather than later given what happened and what Host can do.
