You are 4.25 with 6x speed boost and no Reality Effects, which in terms of combat effectiveness is about mid Dao-Cleaving, maybe slightly higher. Could fight disadvantageously against High or Peak Dao Cleaving for a bit.

Potentiation only gets Mordant Flame to semi-relevant against Dao Cleaving. It may be theoretically damaging to Reality Forming but the amounts involved are relatively minuscule, like trying to bring down a castle wall with a normal sword.

4.2... Oh, shit, forgot that we're still back at early Soul Chrysalis--yeah, that makes it riskier--though on the flipside, Charmed Life plus some good tactics and whatnot should go far.
 
I actually don't know what we have. Discussion goes much too fast for me here. I was assuming it was offered because we could afford it.
 
Hmm. Direct Approach is still good if we pair it with MM boosted Scamming, because bullshitting our way past these people and...

What's Suizen's feelings on scamming the everloving shit out of temporarily superior Forbidden Art Cultivators and seeking to steal their prize through cunning rather than main force?

Like, we did bring a socially focused crew here, if anything could pull it off, it would be this band here, especially if we upgrade our scamming powers with a Mastermind Point in the process.

We currently technically are at -1. However, we also have a banked bonus that will give us an extra one when we actually gain one. So Direct Approach should give us two, and even if we don't take that, we can still use the bonus choice to buy it for free.

No, it gives us bonus MM if we get two. We have yet to get even one.
 
Oh, huh, that's nice then. If that's the case, we could get the Eyes of Kong upgrade too--and having someone good at identifying and countering esoteric effects is a good niche when we're expecting to run into OCPs.
 
Since you guys are looking for liches, I would seriously consider the +40% Beyond Point progress. That would make it very likely you have 2+ Beyond Points when going into the lich negotiations (if you find one).

Your bonus only works if you have 2 Mastermind Points. 2 -> 3 works, not 1 -> 2.

She doesn't care as long as you're not trying to be friendly with Forbidden Cultivators. You could also try persuading her that any individual case if okay.

You don't know anything more than what's in the post, but you believe you could take them. High Dao Cleaving would be iffy but might still be possible.

Eyes of Kong would help with Pass; I just question their long term usefulness since we made the Ring.

Their only real usefulness is in enhancing Suizhen's ability to be useful as our agent in different location than us. However, that's basically the only point of lackeys, given how much stronger than them we are, and how much faster we grow.

...If she starts getting boosts from Age of Glory, she may also end up being relevant even in team combat with us, at which point giving her boosts that actually scale with her would also be helpful.
 
Are you people honestly incapable of holding your train of thought for more than a single update? Jesus.

You choose to go to Liches, a BP hungry option that has us getting new spells and then using BPs to upgrade them as that is the only time we'll get opportunity to do so.

Why the hell are you not taking free 0.4 BPs offered?
 
Maybe this is just paranoia talking, but I'd rather our Heroine-Lite-Lackey not have access to Eyes that can compromise our abilities. I highly suspect the spells we'll find will be amazing, and we'll need as many BPs as possible when we get to them. It would be very awkward if we find an amazing spell with an even better Beyond but don't have enough points to get it.

EDIT: Also, important, is thinking of a plan for our Investigation so we don't get stomped into the ground. Plans will improve our chance of success, and with an enemy higher in power than us, we'll need all the plans we can get. On the bright side, since our obstacle is a challenge to us, the reward also should be correspondingly valuable!

So, basically, you've already written off her ever being loyal to us?

Because it wouldn't be hard to make her super loyal to us--and we weren't banned from flipping the other Heroes either--the only one who's effectively irreconcilable is the Heroine herself.

She's someone who has Talent enough--one way or another--that she could be mistaken for being the actual Heroine. If we can get her super loyal to us, then we will be in business.

And yeah, unstated but obvious benefit to the Xiaoling choice--her improved Loyalty means she's making a genuine effort to not be quite as much of a bitch to Suizen.
