[X] Burst past him. You're confident enough in your skills that you can find the relic before him, no matter how odd his start was. You just couldn't afford to let him get the upper hand.

I liked Oz better when common fanon had him as a time manipulator. Not a body hopping immortal. I haven't been able to repress the headcanon that he let Cinder kill him so he could come back in a body to waifu Ruby.
And like THAT, my respect for Ozpin has risen even higher. I can't even find the age thing entirely objectionable, it's just such an insane way to pick up girls the sheer game the man has is mindblowing. This is a guy who could make 'til death do we part' into a long series of one-night stands.

[X] Claim the boy as your "partner". Ozpin said something about teams and you're not going to come back first only to find out that you "needed to do it as a team" or some nonsense like that.
I find this more interesting.

Well as a way to object to senseless hate.. .

And with that Everything is consolidated.

Shippers and anti-haters versus anti-shippers and haters.

Maybe a few people who genuinely found one more interesting than the other without any reasoning being connected to either category.

I wonder if this trend will continue after this vote?

Admittedly I was hoping for the stay behind and follow option so that Jaune would get caught in any traps first and that Pyrrha could then go ahead of him as a result. Since it seemed like no one was going for it, decided to go for the 'burst ahead' option since it seemed to fit more of her character from how we've been presented so far.

I personally thought the "burst ahead" option fit this Pyrrha really well character-wise, and so was inclined toward it. The main argument I personally saw (maybe I missed some points?) in favor of the "partner" option was something that I think will happen anyway, so it didn't really change my inclination much. I admittedly don't have some sophisticated argument against the "partner" choice[1], but I just don't see much reason to go that way on my end.

1. And won't lose much sleep if it wins, just not my #1 pick.

We've really only seen the surface level of her characterization at this point, so I can understand finding something that fits surface level characterization better more IC.

But think what one of the more common lessons the arrogant prodigy is often forced to learn. Teamwork. Now Pyrrha is probably good enough that she probably didn't learn the lesson the teachers who would try to get that lesson across normally want (that there are some obstacles that you can't overcome on your own), but the one prodigies among prodigies tend to learn -- that teachers that talk about teamwork will penalize you for not having one or will rig things so that you have to have a team. I'd honestly find it hard to believe that she hasn't had at least one teacher that hasn't tried to knock her down a peg on those lines.

As a result of negative reinforcement, she would probably learn the lesson of "in the absence of few people you actually care about enough to want on your team, select someone that won't hold you back too much so you can claim you had one". Relatedly, she probably learned to make teams quickly so she wouldn't have to deal with annoying scrubs wanting on her team so she could carry their dead weight. It also can further show her superiority by showing she can win even when she is carrying her team (because let's be honest, with how good she is even the better students wouldn't help her too much)

To be honest, I don't really have any strong feelings on this?

There are only so many people in our year group as it stands. We're probably going to end up interacting with Jaune somehow anyway. Especially since, you know, we're voting on whether we're going to stalk him, race him, or use him as a seeing eye dog here. The only difference here is going to be how we interact with him, not whether we interact with him at all.

Welp hope this doesn't last long that would be a headache if all votes become like that. Better to just vote what you actually like than trying to fight.

On one hand, some will die out pretty soon since haters tend to loose some support once we interact with Jaune. Some will switch when the taint of canon Jaune is found to be light enough to warrant further interaction, and the movement tends to die out* if we end up on the same team as him.

On the other hand, shippers vs anti-shippers is unavoidable in RWBY quests, although after enough time passes anti-shippers tend to get crowded out by shippers, although then you start having the various shippers clash with each other. Granted, since this is a Pyrrha quest, Arkos would probably hold a strong lead ... although it probably won't settle on monogamy [if viable**].

*By them dropping the quest, switching to lurking, or actually being won over. Or taking by up the banner of a non Arkos ship, and changing the conflict to a shipping war.

**Don't know if it be a "simple" multiple partner relationship, or a "it's not cheating if it's Yuri" situation. Both are viable possibilities to the fandom, and neither is contradicted by what we know of this depiction of Pyrrha.

*Shrugs* It's a bit past the time I could say I'm not tired of Jaune, but I can't say I didn't resent the way interaction with him seems forced in this vote as well. On the other hand, I can see 'god's guidance' offering a Jeanne expy guidance toward victory and the Achilles expy jumping for a challenge so I'll admit the scenario is plausible, though I wonder she didn't just jump down ahead of him.

My other issue is I halfway already expect the RWBY equivalent of Jeanne d'Arcs prayer and religious visions to translate to a Semblance irritatingly similar to Contessa's PtV.

Literally Achilles but female, judged everyone on a 'screw and or fight' scale in order to find who is or isn't worth it, and people think that attempts at in story shipping will be anything other than 'fun one night stand'.

Yeah, I'm not quite getting it.

This, more or less.

I'm not going to say that it can't happen, but given the amount of development it'd require, threat of it happening would be a looooong ways away and not something to worry about on page 7.

Nothing says there can't be repeats, although then it tends to be considered a common hookup rather than a one night stand.

Shippers take what they can.

I know there's been some talk of shipping but the Jaune/no!Jaune as partner thing really doesn't have much to do with that, just the character's increased or decreased prominence in the game.

When it comes to serious time, her homegirl Philia and Ozpin are the only ones in the running.

Pretty much half of the anti Jaunne crowd seems to be basing thir shit off what appears to be a ship name soo

Patroclus exists. There's always a chance of going steady with someone.
