What's wrong with it is that I don't like playing as an evil character.
And the sith weren't really good at anything besides tearing themselves apart. So not really a success story there.
It's one thing to be a bit selfish. It's another to be capital E Evil, which is what 90% of the Sith are.I also don't like to play as a white knight or a fucking Saint.
I prefer my characters to be somewhat Selfish.
I don't recall saying I was making a factual argument. I am saying that going to the darkside almost invariably leads to evil, and that I, and hopefully most of the playerbase, have no interest in playing an evil character.Every civilization falls eventually. As has already been discussion already,
the Sith Empire in each iteration lasted over 1,000 years. It's more of a success than any real world civlization in regards to longevity.
The Sith only started to fall when they went to war with the Republic.
In and of themselves they were fine.
Its fine if you don't like playing an evil character, but don't use your preferences as a "factual argument" for why the player base should not vote for something.
If voters choose to go "evil" i'll write it competently and, depending on rolls, you'll still live and quite possibly succeed.
I was the guy that would blow up Megaton for the lulz, wipe out Underworld, destroy the pentagon, sell children from Little Lamplight, torment those people in the VR simulation at the whim of a creepy old dude wearing the face of a little girl, while wishing I could join the Enclave kinda guy...I don't care to play a evil guy frankly. That's just personal taste. Its part of my personal taste, just like how 100% of the time I burn down every single slaver and raider camp in the Fallout 3/4 games that I run into.

Now I know where I recognized your name!
Really? Wow I didn't know anyone from here outside the paradoxers had heard of us...I hope you liked what you saw. Right now I'm doing this (mainly) NCR game. Check it out if you have time I love your writing. Now I know where I recognized your name!
I lurk on Paradox occassionally.
That's not the point. The point is that we're agreeing to help him, and then we're immediately turning around and trying to leave the Order. He'd be fine with it, and if we continue to remain friends with him when the separatist crisis happens, there's a chance we could flip him.
That'd be amazing, and help complete the revolution dream team.
We can be suspicious and still learn more. Those aren't mutually exclusive. One is just significantly less guarded than the other, and when dealing with people as prone to manipulation and treachery as the Motherfucking Sith, we need to be on our guard.Statement: "note that being curious and wanting to learn of an ideology so that you may better yourself and your peers is different form wholeheartedly embracing it.
For instance, I've read all three of the major abrahamic holy books so that I may better understand some 60% of the human population as well as Attempt to derive whatever lessons that I found applicable in my daily life. I remain100% atheistic, still believe in no absolute truths, eat pork, commit to no relationships, overindulge in every way possible, do nothing that does not benefit myself or those I directly care about unless it was absolutely easy basic courtesy type shit, donate blood, and refuse to give a shit about anyone but my cousins, siblings, nephews, and nieces. Yet in reading said texts I feel I not only gained a better understanding of more than 60% of the human population and current issues but I have gained a greater appreciation for much artwork and culture.
What I'm saying is that just because we want to learn about Sith philosophy and arts does not mean we're embracing them. Rather it means we are granting them the consideration that knowledge belonging to a near immortal civilization and an inherent part of the force is due. Learning about biology does not equate to deciding to sedate people in back alleyways so that you may flay them and gaze upon and manipulate their flesh. Rather, learning biology means you know what the fuck you're doing when you decide to start cutting into people in back alleys. Not that ai have a problem with cutting people in back alleys, it just has absolutely nothing to do with learning biology.
Basically, Sith ideology isn't itself a bad thing to learn. Curiosity is a good thing and does not mean that we even agree with it. Curiousity means we want to know what it is. Curiousity even helps if we wish to avoid agreeing with it as it means we know what we're disagreeing with helping so that we can actually argue against it rather than strawmanning and deflecting.
When in persuit of knowledge nothings true; everything is permitted."
If leaving with Dooku wins because of this, I'll be salty as hell. What annoys me is that, atleast right now, a clear majority doesn't want to leave with Dooku, but leaving is winning anyway because the vote to not leave is split between wishing him good luck and asking him to stay.
Of course, but we still have to try to reach our full potential.Do remember folks that IIRC Dooku agreeing to allow Anakin to tag along isn't guaranteed IIRC.
@Arthellion is the above correct?
Yeah? And waste 4 CPs trying to do so. Plus who says we can't reach our full potential else where? Like say, getting trained by Mace Windu.Of course, but we still have to try to reach our full potential.
