  • I may regret this in the morning, but would you be interested in cannibalizing some of my ideas on Wyld things for parts in a PM? Barring a miracle, I'm not going to be making use of them anytime soon, so I might as well embrace it and do the creative equivalent of declaring "Eat of my flesh, drink of my blood!"

Nom nom nom. PM me and we'll see.

You got it. I think I'll wait until later today or tomorrow, though. I've been up for a good 20 hours now, and that's around the point where I start getting loopy.
Yes, I have changed my avatar. I know it's a shock. Try not to faint.

If you don't mind me asking, what's it from?

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, which is available on Netflix, is only four and a half hours for all thirteen episodes of the first season (so you can binge it in an afternoon), and which is one of the literally handful of shows and films to get a solid 4/4 "Perfect" critical rating from me, ever. You should go watch it now. Like, right now. Go on. I'll wait.

I see. Thank you for your time.

Unfortunately, I don't have a Netflix account. Or many other accounts.
Excuse me, Aleph, but when you talked about Dimensional space and Earth being a backwater, do you mean it as.... are they all inhabited, and Earth is alone, or do you mean there are neighbouring dimensions devoid of people?
Good day to you, madam (Or should I call you doctor now?). If you don't mind me asking, are you planning on continuing Of The Stars or Gamesverse?
    Aleph

I'm afraid I'm not a doctor, only a MASTER, MWAA HAA. And yes! I have been beating my head against the next OTS arc for a depressingly long time, but fully intend to continue it. The Gamesverse is moving forward with Shell Games, which @EarthScorpion is writing - he's completed about a third to half of it thus far, and intends to finish the whole thing before posting it.

I see, thank you very much. Looking forwards to it. Have a pleasant day, and good luck with the writing. :)
So, are you walking like the 20 year old you are again?

I'm sorry if that annoyed you, but I just want to know if you're walking alright after that surgery you had/
    Aleph

Didn't annoy me, just amused. I'm more or less back to normal on walking and moving around non-strenuously, but my stamina on my feet is crap because soreness starts creeping up on me pretty quickly.

Well, I wish you a quick trip to full recover and a happy life.
So I have to ask. Where does that last quote in your sig come from? "First step to making a protagonist, massive trauma," from ES.

A traumatic backstory is like +5 to protagonism
    Aleph
    Aleph
Well, there's a difference between a traumatic backstory that never impacts the plot except by letting the protagonist Blando McGenerica look vaguely sad/constipated while regurgitating it, and a traumatic backstory that genuinely traumatised the character and left them with a version of the Flaw Background which presents them with actual problems or limitations over the course of the plot.

My related annoyance is tragic backstories that affect the plot, but only in ways that are immediately resolved, with none of the logical aftereffects. As a way for writers to make a story that's totally mature, look, sad things have happened to people, without having to have people deal with them in detail on screen.

Was the Beast of London weak to cinnamon bun-typed damage?

It tried to chase Aleph, and then she crossed the road without looking and the Beast following her got hit by Truck-kun. Even now it's the protagonist of a bland forgettable fantasy anime.

    You're both awful. >_>
