This is a crossover between my Harry Potter series: The Deep Dream and Mass Effect.

Now he had to deal with the suspicions of the DEO, the enormous amount of different alien species around he needed to be prepared for, and the complete lack of funding, that could actually result in his death...
One year after Fenrir's rebellion, humanity once again look to the stars. Venturing into the Perseus Veil, what will they find? Hopefully not yet another alien species who spontaneously decide to genocide humanity on first sight (seriously, what's with aliens and picking on humanity?).
Humanity's foray into space had not been an easy one. Faulty untested technology, shady and secretive corporate employers, deadly aliens with strange abilities, mysterious artefacts that drive you insane, rogue AIs leading rebellions, and horrors from beyond space itself coming to kill everyone - and that was before they met the rest of the galaxy.
