Speaking of Bloodlines in VtR, hows everyone's experience with them?
The universal joy of powergamers.
I love them.
Speaking of Bloodlines in VtR, hows everyone's experience with them?
I'm tempted to say "all of them", but that's hardly a constructive answer.
So first: Are you playing 1e or 2e?
In 2e, there are only three Bloodline writeups yet.
Khaibit who are fine.
Neglatu who are acceptable, though if abused they will create a zombie apocalypse.
And Kerberos who can be terrifying, but are generally acceptable.
If you play 1e, ban the Quedeshah under all circumstances.
They aren't overpowered, just stupid.
I like them, but they're pretty off-tone. They're a bloodline of nice, helpful vampires whose bloodline discipline lets them heal people and gain Vitae from it, and creating sanctuaries where Kindred are safe from frenzy.
So basically the CoD version of 'light-side' Salubri? Nice.I like them, but they're pretty off-tone. They're a bloodline of nice, helpful vampires whose bloodline discipline lets them heal people and gain Vitae from it, and creating sanctuaries where Kindred are safe from frenzy.
They're pretty neat if you don't care about the whole "a beast am I" angle of the game, like if you're playing in some kind of wacky crossover or as superheroes with fangs, but for the base games they're a bit heald-tilting.
An apt comparison.
If you want nice vampires who don't gain anti-thematic powers, look at the Septemi.
They're cool.
Our storyteller got the bright idea to actually use Blood Sorcery for something other than a few of the antagonists, and the result was getting killed by a Sanctified who made me explode by invoking the Lord or whatever.
See. Another game ruined by the unadultered shit of the Blood Sorcery magic system.
So anyone got any tips on making sure my players know this isnt a House of Cards/Game of Thrones feeling game when i start my Requiem game?
Going for something more grounded. Kinds of plots im gleaning inspiration from;
Keanu, Snatch, Friday, 21 Jump Street (the Tatum & Hill film) and the like
How is 21 Jump Street more 'grounded'?
I mean, I watched and liked the film, just a little confused.
It is an objective fact that letting the Blood Sorcery system near anyone who is unexperienced with the system will lead to chaos, disorder and ruination.
Luckily I got my revenge by making a character who used the Blood Sorcery system to construct a firebomb in my backyard and teleport it into the havens of my enemies until the storyteller finally agreed to just fucking drop it.
Also, you can make Pledges with a ton of parties as long as they're all present and all agree to the same terms, so a Changeling without a Seeming could totally play Gaston and send a crowd of angry villagers after that Beast (or Ogre)/Witch/Outsider, all of them Ensorcelled to see their true self and thus to hate what they see but don't want to understand.
Yes. Changeling can do pretty much anything, or at least can fill a lot of narrative space, and that includes stealing Beast's thunder.
...the mirror would actually make a completely reasonable Token, since it could easily replicate a Contract that already exists, and so it isn't wildy overpowered.
The talking appliances are clearly some form of Hedgespun automaton.
And then sometime between the forest and the castle, they enter the Hedge, which is where a Changeling can actually live out his 'I have a castle' fantasies, if he can find the right Hollow.
This is kind of fun.
Im foreverdm in my group when it comes to either WoD
