SayakaQuest: Trauma is a Thing

She blushes. "It wasn't stalking, it was scouting! I mean, there was another magical girl in the area and I thought 'you know, maybe I can check her out' and shit!"

You laugh. "It was staaaaaalkiiiiiiiiiiiing."

"Stobbit!" She puffs her cheeks out. "It's not funny!"
So has Kyoko managed to convince herself that she actually wasn't planning on running Sayaka out of town, violently if need be, or is she just embarrassed that she wanted to do so and it's coming out as more innocent and adorable than it really is completely unintentionally?

Also, "check her out," nice Freudian slip there Kyoko

[X] Keep talking.
-[X] Light topics.
--[X] "Heyyy we both can spam swords and spears! What if we combined them for a Spear-Sword thing, it could be super effective!"

[x] Inform her that Miki Bed and Breakfast costs an arm and a leg.
-[x] fortunately Kyoko is already paid up.

[x] Inform her that Miki Bed and Breakfast costs an arm and a leg!
[x] Big stupid grin.
[x]ANYWAY
[x] You hungry? I kinda spent a lot at the arcade so I can't order out, you OK with microwave noodles?

"By the way, remember that Miki Bed and Breakfast costs an arm and a leg!"

She blinks, before she smirks widely. "Oh, you cheeky bitch."

"Thankfully, you already paid up!"

"And I thought my sense of humor was bad!" She laughs.

[x] You hungry? I kinda spent a lot at the arcade so I can't order out, but we've got some instant ramen...

"Anyway, you hungry? I kinda spent a lot at the arcade so I can't order out like I normally do but we've got some leftovers and instant ramen..."

"Leftovers?" She tilts her head. "Like what?"

"Not much." You say. "Like, some pancake mix, some chicken and...oh yeah we have rotisserie left over." You shrug. "Just stuff."

"...Hell, I'll take it." She says.

You both go downstairs to have some dinner. You wind up heating up some ramen, and she gets herself all of the chicken that you have left. She begins eating ravenously as soon as she's done heating the parts up. She's just shredding it apart...and then you realize something.

...Was that thing that the Kanames found related to her running away or something? She doesn't seem that well-fed at all. Heck, she's thin even for her age.

[OPTION SELECT]
[] Don't dwell on it.

[] Eat your own food.

[] Keep talking.
-[] Keep. It. Light.
-[] Ask her about it.

[x] Don't dwell on it. it's not like you're in a rush.
-[x] Eat'cha food, blueberry.

[x] Don't comment on it.
[x] Eat your food.
[x] Ask if she'd like anything else. (Non-sarcastically even)
[x] Keep up the light conversation.

Kyoko's problems are something that'll need to be addressed eventually, but considering the explosion earlier in the evening it's probably not a good time to poke at sensitive subjects.

Moid's pretty clearly pushing us in the direction of asking about it, and Sayaka's probably going to broach the subject anyway. The way to do this is to ask questions that make sense that approach the topic, but don't get to close that she'll tell us to back off, but not so close it'll trigger her and make her flip out.

[x] get her phone number.
[x] I think I have ice cream in the freezer. Bleah, apple flavor, I don't know why Mom buys this, she's the only one who likes it...
[x] Ask her what she wants to do now.

Updated.

Sayaka doesn't have to talk to Kyouko about what happened today. She can always ask Madoka or her parents about it at a later date/time.

That said, getting Kyouko to talk about her past by herself is far more important than finding out about it second hand.

Unfortunately, as a GM, I can recognize when one is nudging the players towards something, and Sayaka noticing it like that, because she has no filter at all, is probably going to result in her saying something dumb unless we can redirect it to something less dangerous, and outright resisting it probably isn't going to end well.

Asking for her phone number will establish if she has a cell phone or not. If she doesn't, well, that's kinda weird for a teenager in 2011 Japan not to have, and the ice cream because the girl's clearly starved and needs some more to eat and probably hasn't had any for a while.

Why not the "ask but be willing not to pry" thing I proposed?
