SayakaQuest Thread 10: Glory To The Death

You keep making more and more platforms, and you scrape your gem against the seed several times over as you make platform, after platform after platform. They explode time and again as you and the building pass through, held together by chains, black energy, Akane's strength and the help of the other magical girls. Anyone who isn't casting is desperately trying to keep the thing together, screaming in strain and effort.

The first platform explodes into shards. Second slows down further. Third explodes again, damaging the building almost utterly. The fourth slows the building again, as dust emerges from the entire structure, and the fifth causes a loud shifting noise as things start grinding to a more controllable speed.

You keep trying to slow things down, metal screeching against concrete as you try to make a slight funnel of blades that explodes as soon as your building passes.

You keep swishing your gem against the seed over and over again, before a few chains wrap around the grief seed and secure it as you get slower and slower.

And eventually, you start grinding to a near-halt among a final funnel of blades. The building seems to float above the ground, secured by an impossible platform of blades. You're panting, your face just above a fine, powderized surface below. You sigh, almost in relief...before the building falls out of the funnel and straight to the ground with the crashing of metal, concrete and glass. Dust billows out in the center of the crater, covering everyone in fine powder and tiny debris.

You're back on Earth. Walpurgisnacht is dead. And whatever survivors you could save have been saved.

Debris continues to rain from where Walpurgisnacht's golden city once was.

It's not quite done yet. We still have a few last things to do, like meeting up in person with our Mom and the like. Relaying our survival to her via Madoka is a good start, but sight and touch are powerful things.
 
And, in case more people died when we thought, make sure Madoka does not even think about contracting. And maybe be alert for last minute bunnycat shenanigans.
