SayakaQuest Thread 10: Glory To The Death

In the distance, you see crystals fly about, followed by a gigantic, flaming fist.
Are these in close proximity? That is, does Akane appear to be fighting Nanami? Since Akane is a separate vote choice, I wasn't sure if it was the two of them fighting each other, or just general evidence of the two separate fights (ie: Akane vs Nao/Kiyoko, other group vs Nanami).

Alright, just reviewed the time we fought Mitsuko last, and if we're diet Mami, that's Mami lite (just in case anyone else drew a bit of a blank on her) if she hasn't been powered up, our armor seems to be much more effective against her attacks, so that's nice. We'd best come up with something devious; we don't want to spend all our time fighting Mami lite.

I'm not sure tagging Homura out is a good idea: it took way too long to kill Mami two on one. I kind of want this one dead.

Edit: also, free her how? I don't think we can cut through that shadow any more than Homura can shoot it.

If we can't free her, then she's going to be fighting to free herself. Also Mitsuko's power is shadow. Theoretically Rending Blade should be more effective in cutting through it.

Also... hmm... Once again, I doubt Moid is going to allow us a timestop gank. Need to think this over a bit.

I don't think we'll be able to do that without killing her. Just tie us to Homura so timestop dodging doesn't teleport the fight away from us.

Situation report:

Homura fighting Mitsuko. Seems to be at a stalemate. As long as Homura is tied up with this, we can't get timestop transport and bailouts.


Two options for the other fights, due to the update not being clear:

1)

Akane is fighting Nanami. This should be a relatively straight-up brawl. Akane doesn't have any emotional baggage tied to Nanami, though she might be getting a bit torn up. Honestly, I can't imagine this fight to last very long; Akane should have pasted Nanami, who has the survival instincts of a rock. That implies that this interpretation of the update is probably not correct.

The other four girls (Yuri/Ako/Kagura/Chou/Ran) are dealing with the mind reader/teleporter duo. We have experience in how nasty it can be to fight them. They are likely to be severely injured.


2)

Akane is fighting the mind reader/teleporter duo. She is very unlikely to win this solo, but the flaming fists indicate that she's certainly not easy to take down, either.

The other four girls (Yuri/Ako/Chou/Ran) are fighting Nanami. There's probably some emotional baggage, but if Kyouko can kill Mami, they can fight Nanami. The shards are highly damaging, particularly if we can see use of them from where we're at. Still, would not expect them to be having a great deal of difficulty here. It's possible that the Kagura/Yuri pair was containing Nanami while the others dealt with whipgirl and the injured Emiko, and they're only just now regrouping.



Also, we have 8 minutes left, which is far less than I expected given the presentation of the updates. It may be that we're working on 30 seconds per update instead of what looks like 15 seconds of quick action.

I'm most concerned about the Mitsuko clones. We can't waste time playing whack-a-mole with those. Any ideas on how to deal with that risk?

I think every Rend we use on Mitsuko should be widespread and not focused on one thing since she wants to channel Naruto for this fight.
 
There's also opportunity cost, here. Homura may not be in the best position, but she can delay for quite a while. If Akane is fighting the mind reader/teleporter, she's likely at greatest risk. The fact that she's tossing out massive flaming fists may indicate that she's desperate just trying to hold out at this point. While getting Homura free to timestop again is certainly the ideal, we shouldn't ignore the other possible risks here, particularly if we end up in a delayed whack-a-mole game, like the Mami fight.

I really don't think it's a good idea to leave Homura in this situation; Mami's hesitance saved her in the movie, but we don't have that here. Also, familiars can't be killed by one precise shot, but Homura can.
 
Also, there's always the option of splitting up. Adding Kyouko to Homura's fight (particularly since Kyouko has options for chaining herself to Homura to stay in timestop) may be sufficient to get them enough advantage for the win, while letting Sayaka run towards the other fights, where her healing abilities may be needed (plus, anti-mind-reader music).

Rending Blade and Wave Rend are both 'light' generators. Our explosive swords may also count.

Tentative alternate option, focused more on ensuring safety of the others:

[] Tell Kyouko to help Homura; she can use chains to stay in timestop together and double-team the shadow user.
[] Go to help Akane.
-[] Start prepping anti-mind-reader music.
[] Keep an eye out for anyone that looks seriously injured along the way.
