SayakaQuest Thread 10: Glory To The Death

[jk] Charge up the heat in your fists, whisper tenderly to your brass knuckles a prayer for glory to come, aim at the witch you totally don't like right now, UNLEASH THE POWER OF PHYSICAL ANNIHILATION! SERIOUS STRAIGHT PUNCH!

[x] Jump onto
-[x] One of the buckets.

You do a soaring leap off of the bucket. The force punches a hole in its side, and, as it falls, the thing breaks apart into a shower of metal and molten steel. This starts another cascade of buckets and metal, with the witch caught in the middle of it.

Aoi and Yuri scream as they dodge the bucket barrage. Ako reflects several buckets, before she raises a hand and immediately shatters several buckets with a loud, black-and-white sonic screech. Yuri follows up with cannon fire, shooting whatever gets too close to the couple.

[x] Attack...
-[x] One of the eyes
--[x] Maintain your distance. Throw fire fist at those.

You keep your distance as you keep on a nearby bucket. Flecks of molten metal go flying as you aim your fist at an eye carefully...before the entire witch turns towards you.

Metal groans and creaks as it swings a leg at you. Several assembly lines go flying off into the nether as you start orbiting around the witch. Debris flies everywhere as the entire barrier dissolves into chaos.

Suddenly, just a few meters from you, you see a large chunk of metal slam into Yuri's off-hand. She screams in silent agony as it's torn off with a spray of blood and muscle. A chunk of molten steel comes far too close to her, only for Ako to slap it out of the sky with a quick swish of her blade. She grabs Yuri's midsection, before they both land on the witch's head. They're dwarfed by the buckets surrounding them...probably the same size as the bucket that you were just standing on.

This witch is powerful enough to warrant colored art. We're probably gonna blow that grief seed we got from the off-screen witch.

[x] Jump to...
-[x] A leg

You bring your fists back and you boost using a burst of flame. Your feet slam hard against the joint of a nearby leg. The entire thing cracks and shudders, and in the distance you can see it undulating with the strength of your impact. The leg moves once up again, before you notice something.

The leg is starting to turn a bright, burning orange.

Suddenly, you can feel your own legs beginning to boil and bubble as the witch's leg begins to melt. It takes a physical spot on the eye of the monster, looking as though it's coming out of a bucket, as the rest of the witch legs out a high-pitched, metallic screech.

Suddenly, you feel pure agony as steam rises out of your boots. You need to get off of this, and fast.

Ok bad call, bad call!

[] Jump to...
-[] Another bucket.

And this confirms that probably the legs are pipes filled with lava.

And Akane has her own defense modifiers.

You've participated in this quest for how long?

You're going to get hurt no matter what you do. The least you can do is hit it back.
We shouldn't rush in blindly with Akane and the non-main characters on the line. A reckless" just wing it" default attack'll just result in crippling injuries without the healhax that make that viable for Sayaka if we get bad rolls.

Counterattacking is great, but just rushing in to punch things for punching's sake in this situation isn't.

Yes, I'm aware of the irony here.
