SayakaQuest Thread 10: Glory To The Death

Reader mode
A bad writer? Nah. Easily distracted maybe, by shiny subplots, dream sequences and cooking, but Asuka quest was by no means bad and there has been a notable jump in quality in Sayaka quest and Priscilla quest.

And then I remember that nothing I say can matter because a writer's worst critic, and the one they trust the most, is almost always themselves :(

Honestly, I think I liked Asuka quest more. Maybe it's because it was done by the time I got to it, so I could just read the entire thing. I think there was less despair, though. Maybe that's why.
I binged it. All the people commenting, too. Didn't know what to do with myself when I finished it. I just paced around the house. Then I just laid on the couch for a while. Then I paced some more.

"Uh...we're Sukuyo's friends. Is she around?"

The man blinked twice before he stood upright. "Yes. She's inside...doing some sketches." He had a strange pause in his speech.

[x]Telepathy her. Is she alright with doing this right now?
-[x] Find Sukuyo.

'Sukuyo?' You ask.

'Y-yes. I'm here.' She says.

'Okay.' You take a breath. '...Where are you?'

'My room. At my d-desk.'

Kyouko holds your hand tighter, as the man sighs and smiles. "Ah...a couple."

You blush, while Kyouko shoots him a shit-eating grin. "Yeah, and she's mine."

"Not complaining." He says. "...I have to finish up J-Spire."

"Uh...?" You pause.

"Manga thing?" Kyouko asks.

"Oh, you read it?" The man scratches the back of his head. "Uh..."

"No." You say. "I've heard of it, though."

"Oh." He frowns. "Shit. Nevermind."

You go over to Sukuyo's room, and open the door. Right inside is Sukuyo, and indeed, she's just at her desk, sketching. You look over her shoulder, and you see a vague pair of really lightly drawn skeletons, leaning into each other as though they're about to kiss. There's one sketch with Akane and Tomo having a talk, and one sketch with two strange-looking original characters having a battle.

You idly look around, before you hear Sukuyo yelping, and quickly covering her stuff.

"W-whoa!" She stutters. "I-I didn't t-think you were j-just going to w-walk in here!"

[OPTION SELECT]​

[] Talk to...
-[] Sukuyo.
-[] Her dad.

[] Write-in what to say.

[] Look at her art.
 
They just walked in and looked at her unfinished drawings? As someone who dabbles in art, I have to say, rude.
That being said....

Sayaka: *Grins wider* Really now?
Sukuyo: *Blushes and hides behind her hair* Maybe?
Sayaka: Aww, don't be embarrassed! I don't mind.
Kyouko: Could I have a copy when you've finished? This looks pretty nice.
Sukuyo: Y-You really l-like it?
Kyouko: Yeah, this is pretty neat.
Sukuyo: *Smiling despite herself* It's n-not that g-good.
Sayaka: Nah, Kyouko's right. These sketches are pretty cool.
Sukuyo: They like my art. Nobody says that about my art besides dad… Are they just humoring me? They've got to be. My art isn't that good...
Kyouko: *Leans over to Sayaka* She's just sitting there and smiling awkwardly. You think she's all right?
Sayaka: Think she might be in some kind of shock… Wow, this is weird.

It'd be funny if that turned into a long, rambling conversation as Sayaka badly attempts to speak in code.

Sayaka: So… Do you know what your daughter does at night?
Sukuyo Dad: I'm not sure what you mean. Sukuyo does quite a few things regularly at night.
Sayaka: You know, perhaps things some people might consider strange?
Sukuyo Dad: I'm a mangaka. There's not much I consider strange at this point.
Sayaka: Yeah, I get that, but these are things she does with other girls. Like spending lots of time with them and forming really close bonds?
Sukuyo Dad: Wait, are you talking about my daughter being a Magical Girl or are you saying she's a lesbian?
Sayaka: I'm honestly not sure any more.

Curiously the conversion process on Akane is taking longer that the expected.

She yelps and jumps a little. "N-No...uh...m-maybe." She blushes. "L-look, it was j-just me practicing k-kissing! I never d-drew it before..."

Kyouko gives you a light jab in the ribs, causing you to turn your head before she gives you a light peck on the nose. Sukuyo turns even redder at the sight, while your ears start to turn red themselves. "O-Ooooooh, dear, Kyouko..."

"What, didn't you like it?"

"Of course I liked it!" You say. "B-but...uh...we're here for something else, aren't we?"

Sukuyo freezes up, before she frowns. "...Y-yes."

"What's the...something else?" Her dad asks. "Is it...uh...something?"

Sukuyo fidgets.

[] Let her start.

[] Talk to...
-[] Kyouko.
-[] Sukuyo.
-[] Sukuyo's dad.
