SayakaQuest Thread 10: Glory To The Death

[x] Keep talking to her.
-[x] More cute lesbians being cute.

Well, technically, you're bi. And you're currently poking Kyouko's nose. "Cutie."

She laughs a little, before she leans against you. "Nah, you're cute."

"What, were you expecting a cute girlfriend?" You say.

"Well, truthfully, you're more beautiful than cute."

You blush. "Uh..."

"Hee~..." She hugs you. "I love you, Sayaka."

"Yeah, love you too, Kyouko." You smile. "Love you, too."

[x] Skip to the training location.

You're now at the old, decrepit park, and when you're there, you notice just how destroyed the place is thanks to your previous training session. Lots of the stuff that was already damaged before you reached it is even worse now...before you see Kyouko transforming. "So, what're we gonna do?"

Do we need training for aerial combat? More controlled flying/boosting might help with walpurgisnacht.
While I think improving our offensive/defensive boost further is a possible action and worth doing, we currently do have pseudo-flight. Improving our overkill attack (ie: wave rend and associated variants) is probably a better use of training actions for now.

[X] Ask Koko on her ultimate trick she's gonna use on Walnut Nutty Nut.
-[X] Ask if she can make a smaller version of it.
--[X] Ask Koko if she can do shit like Nanoha's Divine Buster

[x] Practice turning on Wave Rend when you stab something, or whatever it was you were doing last session.
-[x] See what effect it has when using a BFS.
[x] Work on your boosts. You'll probably be doing a lot of that against Walpurgis.

Unless you have an idea of how to improve Wave Rend, finishing the Wave Rend Stab we started last time would probably be better.

Actually, doing both is an even better idea.

Edited.

[ ] Improve Wave Rend.

Didn't improving Wave rend give us that low cost melee improvement?

Edit:
Found what we have now, said that we needed one more training for better efficiency

[Technique Unlocked: Rending Blade (All the power of a wave rend, now handheld. Costs +2 corruption per second)]

Torgamous have better wording

How about specifically tuning the magic to either the point (for stabby) or the edge of the blade (for slashy)?

There's not exactly a lot of training slots, so I would say the first priority should be to get the costs down, and wait on a further training slot for specific variants.
Fair enough.

Maybe we should think more specific.... what do we expect to be the biggest trouble with walpurgis?
Corruption? Then we should focus on costs
Damage? Then obviously we should learn more offense
Survival? Then defense training.

All of it? Them some generall sparring and hope it gets our overall roll-bonus higher....

Problem is we have little idea what we need, and by the point we find out it would be somewhat to late for training.

I would guess that corruption will be the least of our problems, as we have lots of cleanses, and even if we survive long enough at high power use to use them all up, that would imply that we can't do shit to Walpurgis anyway, and all our less-durable friends will likely be long dead.

Damage has to be enough to hurt Walpurgis, but I would rather have strong defenses than attacks as long as we can still do appreciable damage. So, the question is: are our attacks strong enough?

This should get us familiar with Rending Blade, and without boosts we can't really do anything of use except healing, so these seem like they would be what is needed to get our offense good enough. After this we can focus more on defense.

Don't count on it, I think. Those twenty-something cleanses won't last as long as you'd hope, and with the influx of new meguca, I'm fully expecting the well of Witches will shortly begin to run dry...
Not to mention skirmishes over witches. There's going to be at least a few new meguca who will be desperate enough to try something stupid and attack the veterans.
