You haven't met her for long. A few hours at best. But you can't shake the feeling that you've know her for a long time. Yes. That's how it felt at least to you. The two of you were walking through the streets of Mitakihara as the world.

Your name is Ruki Shironome and you were a Magical Girl.

After a rather tense meeting with the Military faction, you were escorting the strange new senior you've come to become find of. And you're not exactly sure why. Having taken the short route through the rooftops of the city, you both went the rest of the way on foot.

The girl you followed was one Akemi Homura, an impressive Magical Girl. A total stranger if you might consider it and yet here you were, following her like a puppy would. Was it something about her that just drew you in? She was pretty now that you had a look at her.

Her eyes were like sparkling jewels as her hair seemed to be blessed by the goddess of beauty itself. Or maybe she's just using a better conditioner than you. But it wasn't here appearance that drew you. Neither was it her power or kind words.

It just felt right being here, being by her side and helping her. Lights passed over you two as you walked before you somehow found your voice.

"Have we met before?" You asked and immediately your Senpai stopped. She turned and gave you a surprised look before she crossed her arms.

"What made you think that?" Homura asked with a raised eyebrow.

"It's just a feeling. I feel like I know you a lot longer than I do now," you admitted as you held your hand to your chest, "Is that strange?"

"No. It doesn't. Perhaps that you're just sharp... I appreciate your accompanying me today if I should make myself clear on that," Homura said as she cleared her throat, "Would you like to talk about it? My friend's apartment is quite off."

"Well for one thing... Calling you Senpai just rolls off the tongue so well," you told her as you crossed your arms.

"I am your senior. That much is expected," Homura said as she had thoughtful look.

"That may be. But given what you did back there at the base, how you acted. It seems like you're up to something urgent," you pointed out with a nod.

Homura was quiet for that as she turned her gaze down the street. Some cars passed you both by. It was a rather familiar street. This place would normally lead to the Park-

"The Wraiths. They'll be coming en masse."

"We have to protect the city."

"Ruki, Oriko, are you two certain of this?"

"This Outbreak, we'll overcome it."

You closed your eyes. Homura must have noticed your silence and placed a hand on your shoulder, "Are you okay?"

"I... Yes. Sorry, just feeling a bit dizzy," you lied as your head throbbed. You had been having strange dreams lately.

Dreams of another life, fighting on the edge, surviving, living... Suffering.

"Senpai... I had fun too. Today," you told her as you raised your head, "Until the day you discharge me, I'll be giving you my hundred percent. Though I suggest being more honest with yourself, it'll make people more convinced of helping you out in the future."

Homura's eyes widened as she stepped back. She then sighed and rubbed your head, "Did you just lecture me?"

"I just thought it would be a nice thing to say," you shined as you moved her hand. When you looked up she was already walking away.

"I enjoyed our time too. Come along now, the apartment is near," Homura said as she walked.

You smiled as a bus stopped beside you. You glanced at the reflection and saw yourself. A more disheveled version of yourself in your costume. Except that your body had been ravaged by a dark purple corruption. A lizard's tail sprouted behind your back then. The reflection's orange eyes looked back at your own.

"Don't fail. Not this time. Not again."

You blinked before turning away.

Looking ahead, you followed Homura just as your reflection followed a girl in a dark dress and tattered wings.

I regret a lot of things. But I guess writing that story isn't one of them anymore. Cheers!

I'm glad you've made peace with Veritable, and I'm proud to say that this Omake is Canon.

Rewards (Choose One):
  • Weapon: Bow of Love - Homura gains a bow. It doesn't feel quite right in her hands, but it works well enough. Operates as a Focus for Magic Blast and variants, decreasing Costs and increasing Power.
  • Trait: I'll Never Fail Her Again - Ruki isn't quite sure what that memory was, nor that reflection, but it has stirred a powerful will inside of her. If Homura is about to die or Witch, Ruki will go to any lengths to stop it.
  • Ability: Dominator - Homura can grant any gun she holds the abilities of a Dominator, including scanning and variable attack modes. Power scales with the gun augmented; an actual Dominator would be the ideal focus.

You stop time immediately, of course. There's no way you're going to fight this thing directly, and definitely not inside Kyouko's church--this place will not be damaged, if you have any say in it.

You empty the knives from your shield, and quickly set about hurling all of them at a̴̵̧͘͢b̀͢o̸͘͜͞m̨̀i̷ǹ̸̴͢͞ą̛́̀t̛҉i̴͜͞ớn̵̛͘ from every angle you can. It's a bit slow, but it only takes one minute and seventeen seconds to get them all lined up cleanly.

You move to the broken window and switch your Progressive Knife for your desert eagle. You line up a shot, and release Time Stop.

The knives fly--

The knives fall to the ground in pieces, and it is upon you, needle thrusting towards your chest. Your shield swings up in an instant, even as you fire the desert eagle at it, snapping its head back violently.

The needle still lifts you off of your feet, throwing you out the window. You begin to twist yourself to land on your feet, only to spot the doll descending towards you, your bullet still stuck in its forehead.
"They're coming! Get out of here, Nagisa!"
Now that the fight has moved outside, you finally send your guns into motion, the machine guns floating into the air besides you to pelt the doll with bull--

The doll is inches from your face, and the needle is piercing through your chest. Your guns begin firing upon it mercilessly, the smiling, red-headed horror jerking as it is filled with bullet rounds, but not turning its gaze from you for even an instant.
"It teleported!""Axel Shooter.""RAHHHH!"
The doll goes flying off of you as explosions go off only a foot from you--you take advantage of the opportunity, wildly swiping your katana over towards it, only for it to block with the needle.

You hit the ground hard, your vision going black for a moment as you skull snaps hard against the unforgiving earth--echoes of pain shoot through you, noticeable in spite of your heavy disconnection, as the needle pierces directly between your eyes, pinning you to the ground by your head. You can feel its weight upon you, holding you down. Red is beginning to creep into your vision from the center. The doll smiles down at you, a sick parody of a human being, "Was I wrong? It seems like you are Good For Something after all." It raises its free hand, a tomato, of all things, appearing in its grasp, and rears back as if to push it into your face.
"GET OFF OF MY SENPAI!
A flash of orange in the corner of your eye is followed by a wrench smashing the doll hard in the face, sending it tumbling across the ground and away from you. You watch as Ruki leaps over you to pursue it, a massive laser following behind her.

'Ruki. Ruki's here. I need to protect her. I…I will not let that thing have her!'

You reach up, and grasp the needle with both hands, your limbs struggling to operate without a working brain but bowing to your magic nonetheless.

Slowly, you pull it out of your head. The needle twitches in your grasp, pulling and shaking and contorting, and you feel a bone-deep revulsion in you form merely grasping it. You try to hold on to it, to use it against its master, but your hands convulse, and it falls to the ground before turning into a serpent and slithering towards the doll.

You barely notice, preoccupied as you are with the sight of a tomato catching Ruki in the face and sending her flying towards you, a crimson spray scattering through the air.

You stop time. Your guns all line up shots, the sniper rifles targeting the f̵̴̧͟͜í̵͡͡l͘͜͢t̨͝͠h͘̕͏͜'̷̶̡͟s̴̸͝͞ head. Hurrying behind the doll, you pull out the rocket launcher and fire a rocket at its back.

Hoping that works, you quickly run over to Ruki, snatching her out of the air and carrying her away, towards Nanoha's distant figure. Most of her face is currently missing, but you can see glowing mechanisms filling the wound, healing her even as you move. Words fall from your lips, a sharp command ringing through the stillness of time stop, "Do not leave me, Ruki! I will not allow it!" You aren't certain, but you think that her healing speeds with your words.

You pull to a stop behind Nanoha, setting Ruki down and turning to face the enemy before restarting time.

The doll seems surprised, glancing around for Ruki for a split second--and that is enough time for your sniper rounds to catch it in the face, with the rocket and Nanoha's laser--Divine Buster, you assume--catching it in the torso a moment later.

It lays on the ground, smoking and wounded--

It is halfway to you, sprinting across the churchyard at full speed with that same horrible smile, its voice ecstatic as its phantom voice yells at you in German, "GOOD FOR NOTHING! You ARE Good for Nothing!"

The wounds you've dealt still linger on its body, but they don't seem to slow the monstrosity. Putting this down will not be easy--
HOMURA!!!
Your world explodes in crimson as white-hot pain skitters quietly across your awareness. You have only a moment to register the hole in your torso and the needle lancing towards your Soul Gem…
[Trait: I Will Never Fail Her Again!]
…before the doll is sent flying as Ruki jerks up violently to slam her wrench into it. The only recognizable feature on her face is one eye, but it gleams with determination as she places herself between you and the monstrosity.

She can't face this on her own.

Well that was exciting and dangerous. And wow, look at Ruki go, half a face and still going.

Anyway, uhh...If Nanoha's Binds work to stop it that might be the single greatest contribution she could currently make.

As for killing it... All I can think of is forming a Magic Blast inside of it. Like everything we do is time magic, so I think the regular blasts are as well? So we could either try cutting it in half with an infinitely thin edged magic blast or we could try forming one like a lesser version of a Rasengan inside of it (only made out of Time flavored magic so its cutting torn to pieces from things moving fast or slower than they should be. Or something).

Hmm ... "Hope springs eternal, as long as you have Faith that Miracles can occur."

The song has me thinking she's going to witch out if she embraces it for some reason. Maybe it has to do with the Noi song being brought up back when this Clara Doll first appeared, if I'm remembering that post correctly. The idea really has no reason for its existence other than some instinctual hunch. As such...

No real idea what this light is, but I feel it might help us out somehow. I really hope this isn't Nagisa contracting.

Reminder that in this Timeline Sayaka is NOT a Contracted Magical Girl, but some kind of (pulling from Fate/Grand Order) ad-hoc Demi-Servant of Counter Guardian EMIYA. And if I recall correctly because of this she can no longer make a Contract with Kyubey. Meaning Octavia Von Seckendorff is almost certainly off the table in this loop.

So, the Song from the Depths could mean somehow summoning Sayaka to our side. This is something that can be done with proper Servants, although we lack Command Spells to do so last I checked. I'm stumped on the Light in the Church, though. Could be anything from Nagisa Wishing to another Nanoha-verse character coming through, most likely Fate given her connection to Nanoha herself.

This is a world where an Angel, Berserker, and Sesshomaru showed up. Or, given that one of Homucifer's brats showed up, they could be from however she got here. Or Homura might be hallucinating something. There are a number of ways for Ophelia or Oktavia to show up without actually being from the local Kyouko and Sayaka.

Or the conjecture could be off and they aren't related to (potentially friendly) Witches.
