All right then. @Players
I have already set up the private mini-scenes for over half of you, and the rest of those should arrive this evening. I intent to have them all begin today (Finnish time GMT +2!) and end by next weekend. The dates in your scenes are not the same as the common beginning date IC, which is 4th of January. However, while we prepare for the RP-proper to launch, there are still things to do and things to clear up.
First of all, I would like to do some quick surveys on you players. The first thing to do, is to determine potential. Being the benevolent overlord that I am, I've decided to hear you out on this one. Basically, with the grief seed system being of grief capacity I made up for my quest, it requires each Soul Gem to also have a capacity that determines how much magic and such you can use before you witch out. I thought to have an equal number for every person, citing fairness, but I've also heard that a range of different sizes wouldn't be that bad and might put some individual color to your characters.
So the options, I'd like you to 'vote' on are:
1.) Equal pool for everybody (1200 most likely)
2.) GM-determined pool for everyone ( in the range of 1000-2000 most likely)
3.) You think you have a better suggestion and want to share it.
To go hand-to-hand with this, as a second thing, the basic default system at the moment is that any fights and such will be handled through wondrous free-forming with me as the final arbiter. However, there are some other options you can argument for now while there is still time, should you find it more comfortable. The basic options would be as following:
1.) Free-forming, the basic assumption
2.) Bring forth a basic dice system
2a.) 1d100 + modifiers
2b.) 1d20 + modifiers
2c.) Accumulated dice
Dice will be used in this RP, but they are mostly for some grief generating things and witch difficulties.
As things go on these following days, I might bring up some stuff that I want players' opinion on. I am ultimately a bit lenient GM, and I prefer to have a system that my players feel more comfortable with.
Third thing: Make sure you have a sheet where you can list your grief seeds, grief level and currently sustained injuries. I will track those myself too, but it is a lot more convenient for you if you can check them yourself whenever needed. Just know that my ruling overrides claims you might make about any numbers, should there be a disagreement. I recommend using your application sheet for this, just edit in the wanted numbers whenever they change.
Depending on your scenes and such, you might have some accumulated grief and/or (half-used) grief seeds when the RP starts. Nothing major, but it's something I've been mulling over.
