[X][Personal]Offer to take Nicte to dinner to make up for apparently being an idiot about people? You just know she's mad at you and you really don't like it.
[X][Ranger]Have them be subsidiaries to the animal handlers. It'll make them effectively their own sub-department and will have them constantly on the move through the park.
[X][Espionage]Follow up on Biosyn, they've got a long-standing rivalry with InGen apparently.
[X][Hatching]Continue the slow and steady pace of having the scientists work on a singular species of dinosaur at a time. There will be fewer dinosaurs than in canon but they will be more robust, socialized, and better understood.
[X][Wu Next Step]Triceratops. One of the Big Names of the dinosaur world, as recognizable as the T-Rex by any child around the globe. Also probably going to be the second third biggest herbivore you give the okay on reviving. You and Gerry are likely going to need to lean heavily on how Rhino calves are dealt with, as well as making damn sure no one loses any body parts to that beak. You've seen what an alligator snapping turtle can do to a man. A Triceratops eclipses that by several orders of magnitude.
[X][Breeding]Rely on the future rangers/keepers and the system you're setting up to track the dinosaurs to monitor their numbers. Begin drawing up a base plan for entering enclosures to check potential nests, and ways in which you could control their numbers and genetic diversity even with a breeding population.
[X][Revival]Dodo. The poster species for extinction in recent history. There are plenty of samples to be found thankfully, and while unlike the other species it wouldn't be able to be reintroduced into its home range, The World Wildlife Foundation was willing to shell out a lot of funds to bring it back. Sort of a whole "man wiped them out and then man brought them back. We just had to try," thing to bring more focus on ecological husbandry and conservation.

[X][Revival]Thylacine. One of the poster species of extinction, the Tasmanian government has requested your efforts to revive the species. Possibly the most complex project yet due to the subject being a marsupial. But also a much more recent extinction event than the Terror Birds.

Just found this and just caught up in time for the vote deadline, looking forward to more updates!

As an aside, something about Krouse's methods makes me think that the Mantah Corp. employee isn't a client of his but is instead another pawn in his corporate espionage schemes, and that investigating that end would be more of a wild goose chase.

So, I voted before time ran out, but here is the motivations:

Taking Nicte out for dinner is whatever. Some socialising is always nice.

Keeping an extra eye on Biosyn seems like a good idea from the comments about stuff they did/will do according to canon (I don't know enough about the extended canon to have a firm opinion.)

Having the rangers be animal keepers first and security second makes sense since keeping up to date with the animal handling part likely is the most difficult part, while security training easily can be added on on top and have it done once learned.

Continuing the slow but steady pace of hatching and raising of the animals is both safe and sensible, and if we're creative we can make this into a feature instead of a bug. The park need long term viability as well as instant shock value, and having a steady string of new releases for many years to come as new species of dinosaurs slowly are revived and raised would keep the park fresh and dynamic.

Document the whole journey for each species as well as possible, the ups and downs, problems and solutions - every single revival is an adventure and the park will tell those stories. This paired with the slow method of raising the animals means that there will be more substance and provenance to each animal when they are released to the public. One of the problems the original park had was that the dinos felt like factory produced soulless products just stamped out and placed in the enclosures. There were no history, no individuality to them, but our slower method will hopefully change that - there will simply be much more known about them, both as individuals and as a species.

Triceratops or Stegosaurus was a toss-up. Both are iconic, both are big, both will need time to grow. Raptors can wait until we have more experience.

The breeding thing is complex, but I honestly think it will be best to let the animals be as natural as possible and then use traditional methods (checking nests, catching juveniles, and/or sterilizing the animals before release in the enclosures) to control the population. This is a zoological park, not a theme-park, and a big part of animal behaviour is centred around mating and breeding. Artificially changing this might have unforeseen consequences but also cuts down on the animals' value as authentic dinosaurs. Given their close relation to birds they might have some spectacular mating displays or rituals that would be completely lost if the animals are made neut or otherwise lack the drive to breed.

Having animals escape and start breeding in the wild is honestly less of a problem for the big species, because they are just big. They need to eat a lot, leaves tracks that are easy to follow, and breed slower than small creatures. Even if we didn't tag every animal with a radio transmitter (which we absolutely should) it should be relatively easy to track and retrieve or kill any escaped dinos.

It's the medium and small dinos that are more of a problem. They are the most likely to escape, likely has a faster breeding cycle, and might find enough food in the wild to survive even long term - but on the other hand, the small dinos are easier to handle and sedate if you want to surgically sterilise them, and even if they do escape into the wild they still just takes up the same type of ecological niche as a flightless bird. I'm actually unsure of how well the small dinos would be able to compete with modern animals - the might end up being easy food for night hunting cats and other mammals since they are both flightless and diurnal with poor nightvision.

Reviving the dodo is finally just good PR. They are iconic and will just further cement our reputation as the leading company in de-exiction. Dodos will likely also make for good zoo animals, potentially even in a petting zoo, and might also be one of few de-extinct animals that might have a market as pets. They are flightless birds without fear of humans - I can easily see people start keeping a few dodos in park among ducks, quails, and peacocks.

Remember that Dodos on their natural habitat ate plenty of really big and tough nuts which gave them really powerful beaks... That makes its inclusion in petting zoos unwise unless you think that 10 fingers is too much for children to manage.

Ah... I didn't have time to look up dodo diet, but you're absolutely right. They might still be good pets though, depending on how tame they get if hand raised. Parrots also have beaks for cracking nuts but are fine as pets if they know you.

Biosyn is the reason the original book/movie happened the way it did. They hired Nedry to steal the embryos, and Nedry took down the park electronics.
Then Biosyn raided the abandoned island later to capture live dinos, which led to a T-Rex being released in a city.
After Mills, Hammond's former partner, pioneers weaponized dinos with Wu and attempt to sell them on the black market Biosyn goes ahead and takes over that project. They also manage to gain a lot of global control thanks to the dinosaurs being released into the wild, and Dodgeson decides to use this control to release giant locusts to eat all food not grown by Biosyn. They also kidnap a little clone girl.

The dodo were very trusting apparently because millions of years of evolving with an abundance of food and no predators made them completely lose their fight or flight response. Obviously this led to their extinction but I think a fearless animal can be dangerous in it's own way too.

A bit late to the whole Malcolm thing, but I really hope he shows up in this Quest. I love his Character and I would like to see what he thinks of our way of handling the Park.

I actually think he'd be more supportive of our approach so far, seeing it as more trying to work WITH Nature/'Chaos' and going along with it's flow, rather then trying in vain to enforce complete control over it, like Hammond did in Canon.

On the other hand, this also means that we can help revive a species of tree that was actually dependent on passing through Dodo digestive tracts to enable their seeds to spread.

Have we already started reviving extinct plant life? I can't recall. I know Sorkin has done bugs and such already.

Tuu still deal in is that Malcolm from books or films. Malcolm from the books is an ardent technophobe who believes that any major technological advance will lead to disaster. In the film, he is more confident, but I think he is alarmed by the attempt to "play God" and I think he will insist that unexpected incidents will happen anyway

So a good way to plan for things would be to challenge him to come up with ways disaster would happen. It might even keep him out of trouble for a while.
