Okay, spending report before my next session.

Bel has acquired a warhammer +1 (20 days downtime, 536 gold including lifestyle upkeep). She has invested one day in reclaiming Vuln (1 day downtime, 40 gold).

EDIT: I missed that Red Falcon membership discounts lifestyle, so the warhammer acquistion is actually only 516 gold.

Some relevant posts from the previous page. Do you get Alerts for posts you've been tagged in, at all? They can be useful.

To summarize: at the moment the party consists of Aldrich (lvl 4 Bard), Ulfric (lvl 4 Wizard), Clanless (lvl 4 Barbarian), Beyza (lvl 4 Rogue) and Bel (lvl 3 Paladin). So we'll aim for a lvl 4 adventure (which should hopefully bump you up to lvl 4 by the end of the session). Popular options at the moment are clearing out the abandoned Gem Mine of Vuln, taking down the Bandit Queen, scattering the Ash Hills Rephaim, or hunting down Moon Crest the mega-Triceratops.

The Gem Mines are lvl 5, so they're probably out of our league.
The Bandit Queen is level-appropriate, but will occupy 3-5 sessions, so strap yourself in.
The Triceratops Hunt is level-appropriate.
The Ash Hills Rephaim are [level recommendation unknown], and will occupy 1-3 sessions, but are a continuation of our previous adventure.

Other plot hooks can be found on the Dungeons and Non-Dungeons threadmarks, plus the opening post.

(on that note – @shinaobi, you are up for Thursday, right?)

My vote is for Palace of the Bandit-Queen of the proposed options (though I was also reminded of the Hydra Head Tower, which would be cool).

@Omicron mentioned that there was a high likelihood he'd be on his phone for the session though, with (I believe) the implication being he didn't think he could do Roll20. I'm not sure how @Havocfett generally feels about people getting to play in two sessions in a row, but if Omicron has his heart absolutely set on hunting the Triceratops, and playing in that would cost me the chance to play in @Revlid and @ZerbanDaGreat's session (which also seems to be happening at a reasonable local time for me), I'd rather skip the Thursday session in favour of their one.

So, Thursday people, any consensus on what we're hitting?
Both @Crumplepunch and @LastChronicler seem to like the Bandit-Queen's hideout. @shinaobi has expressed no preference. I'm ambivalent, but the Gem Mine is out of my level range, and I'd rather not force Ulfric on the triceratops hunt when he clearly doesn't want to go, so it looks like we're headed for the Bandit-Queen's hideout. Depending on the xp payout, you might end up having to be the lone backup for a group of level 3s headed after Old Moon Crest, later on.

Though if we do head for the Bandit Queen I'll need to read up on the relevant sessions.

Large Scale Operation: The Outpost at Vuln

On the 8th of Kythorn, 1490, Kadi and the Consociation began their first joint infrastructure project on the Plateau. The consociation donated some thirty specialists, including twenty mercenaries and adventurers, while Kadi sent in workers and a small army, all for the purposes of building, guarding, and garrisoning an outpost in the ruins of the City of Vuln. Attaches from the Cartographer's Guild and Seekers of Knowledge, as well as Sir Gabriel of Waterdeep, leader of the Order of the Red Falcon's local forces, arrived at the build site shortly afterwards to map the area, find what knowledge remained in the city, and assist in the defense.

Summer was fraught with raids and minor attacks from Rephaim, with light casualties on both sides, but it was the Season of Flux that truly imperilled the project. Flux, and its chaotic magics and planar effects, was a shock to all of the non-natives involved with the project. The Gnolls understood the season, but didn't know why everyone else didn't, and construction slowed as the Rephaim geared up for Holy War. The outpost was nearly overrun once, with only brave action from the Gnoll guard, as well as Consociation Adventurers and Sir Gabriel himself, repelling a pair of Rephaim Maniples that had attempted to retake the city.

The project eventually finished more-or-less on time, and a permanent Kadi-Foothold garrison was stationed there to ward off Rephaim invaders. The outpost proved its worth quickly, with many valuable documents recovered from secret, unburnt chambers below the library.

Results:
+1 Influence with the Cartographers' Guild
+1 Influence with the Seekers of Knowledge
+1 Influence with the Order of the Red Falcon
All characters gain 1 Renown in their choice of the Cartographers' Guild, Seekers of Knowledge, and Order of the Red Falcon.
All characters who donated ten days gain an additional Renown to distribute as they please (For a total of 2 Renown).
All characters who donated twenty days gain two more Renown (For a total of 4 Renown) to put in these factions. They cannot put more than three Renown in one faction.

Upon Project Completion (16 Eleint, due to two Holidays in the intervening time) the following are gained:
125 Experience per donor
+125 Experience per ten downtime days spent.
70 Gold (in silver) if participant with less than 10 days.
125 Gold (in silver) if 10 days donated.
300 Gold (In Platinum) if 20 days donated from rediscovered documents
2 Level 2 Spell Scrolls (See Invisibility, Locate Object)
1 Level 3 Spell Scroll (Water Breathing)
1x Potion of Hill Giant Strength
1x Potion of Eagle Sight (As 'Eyes of the Eagle', but only lasts for one hour and doesn't require attunement)
NPC Merchant opens up in Vuln (Wares will be added to NPC Vendor post on 16 Eleint. All downtime costs are 2 days)

Aaaw, now I wish I'd donated 20.

Awesome stuff, anyway. How far is 16 Eleint?

I meant more, like, in gaming time.
Nebulous. Crab Dinner returned some time in the first ten days of summer, and were the furthest ahead chronologically at that. Presumably Havoc would prefer any future sessions set after repelling the Rephaim centuries, but other than that it's presumably up to us how far ahead we want to be from that date: Riding out the next day, spending a couple weeks in Foothold to fortify the place, etc.

Expeditions have to start after the noted Current Date, yeah.

I don't chatter as much in the thread as I maybe should but I would strongly prefer to hit the Bandit-Queen as well. Additionally, I'm toting around one of the bags of holding and fully intend to bring it along, so take note of that as you need to when it comes to working out supplies.

A suggestion: Bring the Lantern of Revealing with you. It's a palace so the place is presumably lit (and so its presence won't be as obvious / stealth ruining), and you already know she makes use of Invisible hit-squads.

I'm going to armwrestle any claimants on the Hill Giant Strength potion in character for the right to take it.

+1 to the Seekers for Jack (Sweet 10% Spellcasting discount), reserving that other Renown until I see what the Red Falcon rank 2 benefits are.

Make sure you mark the change in, like, parenthesis on the GDoc. So you aren't confused about what you do or do not have.
