Seasons and the passage of time
The Calendar:

We're using the Calendar of Harptos (DM's Guide 33) for this campaign. I'm using the formal name for months, since the Common Names are fucking terrible. The Calendar will progress based on time spent and downtime days used. I'll worry about the Calendar, generally speaking downtime day use and large scale projects will advance it, generally based on the most amount of time any one person has spent/the amount of projects you've done. Going on expeditions will also advance the clock.

Many Beasts and Monstrosities gain special abilities from Planar Convergence Events
Rephaim escalate to a full war footing (Mid probability of new Rephaim Encounters in all regions)
Dinosaurs are aggravated by planar convergence (Dinosaur Encounter rate increases)
????

Next Season: Autumn begins on 8 Marpenoth

IC:
Spring: 1 Ches to 30 Mirtul

Obviously calendar designations will diverge slightly from actual temperature changes, generally by about a week or less.

OOC:

Sheol actually has new and fun seasons. You don't know anything about them IC, but here's an OOC calendar so you know when things are going to go unexpectedly sideways to the surprise of your characters.

Summer: 1 Kythorn to 17 Eleasias
Flux: 18 Eleasias to 7 Marpenoth
Autumn: 8 Marpenoth to 30 Uktar
Winter: 1 Nightal to 30 Hammer
Spore: Midwinter Holiday to 30 Alturiak

Minor thing: I think the first expedition returned to Foothold after the 8th. What with them (I thought) spending multiple days in the Acrabatta and not even arriving there until Day 6. Was Day 12 supposed to be Group 1's return, third-group as in the third to get back?

Good news: We're resuming early, motherfuckers! I got Storm King's Thunder from my local gameshop today, and am currently pillaging it for ideas and things to steal outright. Will post a tentative schedule tomorrow for further sessions.

Uh, well. I walked @Havocfett through how to do it. But Power Games has decided to crush me under its cruel and booted heel for the rest of the month.

New Schedule, all times PST:

Monday, August 29 Noon-6 PM (Plan due August 28 at Noon)
Thursday, September 1 10 AM - 4 PM (Plan due August 31 at 10 AM)

Any chance of getting the hydra fight logs up before we restart, @Aleph @Havocfett ? :p
I plan to start monday, so that might be difficult.

Bold are times I can most definitely make, having no work on those days.
Italics are times I either might be able to make (I need to check and see if I'm working on Friday or Saturday night this week), or I arguably could make (I only work until ~11:30am PST on that Sunday)… but would best involve the session starting a half hour later to account for possible traffic on my way home.
Regular are times I outright cannot make.

Alla deez, and I can maybe make Friday too; I'm taking a test that day, and if I get back home early enough I can maybe make it; it'll be cuttin' it close enough that I don't wanna potentially take the slot of somebody who can be super guaranteed to make it on time.

Thursday, September 1 10 AM - 4 PM (Plan due August 31 at 10 AM)

Can't do the other 3 this time even if friday is a bit close, but for the later two I am not around as I am in the aaair. And then visit a strange place with weird acents where all kind of evil comes from aka Southern Germany.

4/09 is 5am-11am for me
5/09 is 3am-9am for me

The sad part is I dunno if I can completely discount all of these because recently I sometimes (like today) fall asleep really early and wake up really early. I dunno how to schedule myself for these tbh, sorry.

Green are the times I can definitely make, everything else is less likely.

NPC Vendors:

As you explore Sheol, you'll occasionally unlock NPC Vendors. These NPCs sell special wares, free of downtime cost, that you generally can't get otherwise.

Uptil:

Uptil is an ex-adventurer and Ilyana's husband. He retired from adventuring after his traumatic experience at the hands of the False Hydra and King Varhug's minions and the slaying of the False Hydra (Which he participated in). He has set himself up as a vendor catering towards adventurers in Foothold.

Zombies: Costs 40 gold for a four pack. Treated as untrained hirelings (They are not combatants), but you don't have to feed them, animals don't view them as appetizing, they can carry 150 pounds of stuff each, you don't have to pay them per day, and there is no penalty if they die. This rents them for the entirety of one expedition, regardless of length. Does not cost downtime.

Legend Lore Charge: Costs 500 gold. Charges a lens with Legend Lore, as the spell. Can be cast by examining something with the lens for one minute. If used on location, please tell me the location you are using it on. Be careful what you use the charge on. Purchaser of charge can veto use. Does not cost Downtime.

Legend Lores:

Legend Lore: Defiance

"Even futile actions can forge a great hero, as it was with Leah and Defiance. She died, the lance was lost, and the Hydra lived, but success was not what empowered the lance. That was understanding, and rage, and fury, and a bloody-minded refusal to give in to a world gone mad. Even now, she is one of the single most potent tools for any who would rediscover the research at Areb and save the plateau.

She offers her wielder martial valor, unblinking, unfaltering hatred, and defiance, yet no guarantee of success. In addition, she understands only violence. This is a boon rather than a curse. "

Legend Lore: Areb

"Weep! For had the wizard of Areb succeeded all of this may not have happened.

They were failed by cowardice, and great and terrible guardians were summoned to protect the tower's secrets. To those that would undo the mistakes of the past the knowledge that lies at the tower's top is indispensable.

If wit and power fail you and you face the wrath of god, remember:

The truth will set you free."

Legend Lore: Suspicious Goat

"This goat was once part of a divine mission of great importance, whose end might have saved or damned the whole of Sheol. Cruel happenstance wrecked the quest, and all those who it travelled with were killed until at last, only it remained. Though it is ill-suited to the completion of its geas and does not remember the commands it was given, it labours to complete its work regardless."
