Generally if you talk to people we can have a sit down at the official Mercenary Meetup Tavern and chat about stuff. Its how we've done some IC planning before, and just how we've passed some time. Feel free to pop into #SheolOOC on IRC to talk, and #SheolShenanigans is usually the room for said shenanigans
Cool. Is that on systemnet or magicstar?

I've shown this to people in the OOC IRC channel, but I figured I'd show it here as well.

Due to my rampant hatred of having to cross-reference seven different points in the same sourcebook (particularly when leveling up), I've created a GoogleDocs-based generic character creation sheet for D&D5 that calculates 90% of your character's stats for you. This INCLUDES sorting and giving laconic descriptions of spells and their added effects when you use a high-level slot for them - just slot in your character's race, class, base stats, and (in the second tab) experience, and it'll take care of the rest!

Other things in the sheet include:
  • Character abilities by level, which gradually fills in as you gain more levels
  • Character abilities by class
  • Number of spells for basic classes
  • An XP tracker that automatically increments levels (currently set for Medium Track; I'll be adding Slow and Fast Track later)
  • Auto-programmed Ability modifiers, based on class, race, and stats
  • Class-specific notes (such as Primal Paths/Totem Animals for Barbarians, Martial Arts scores for Monks, etc.)
  • An Equipment page with automatic weight calculation (just enter weight and number of said objects, it'll do the rest)
  • A beastform tab for Moon Druids (Land Druid rules will need to be programmed in later)

I've also made a similar character sheet for 13th Age (which I'm currently in the process of updating), as I am a rampant masochist.

Make a copy of it, take a look, and see what you think!
Could you throw in the aasimar(with wings if possible) together with the winged tiefling also?

So, with apparently ~2500 GP to my name now: My plan!

~750 will be kept for me for various expenses. Copying down my new Fireball spell, duplicating my Spell Book as a reserve / for others to copy from, acquiring material components with a GP value, and getting a few other bits if miscellaneous junk.

~500 GP is going towards the refugees we brought home with us. Approximately 10GP each. Not much, but it pays for almost a full month's meals and a roof over all their heads (if a shared one).

750 GP, flat out, is going to the Consociation money pool. Priority on use goes to lower level adventurers first.

Remaining ~500 I'll settle after getting home. Also, put me down for at least one of those four remaining Vuln days.

So heads up, If you we decide to run either of the Jan missions I really ask that Jack come too, as he really likes the Jan and wants to get in with them.

Plot Event: The First Battle of New Chesed

The First Battle of New Chesed happened almost on accident. A group of Consociation adventurers, returning from an expedition to the Chesed Moors, ran into a column of mounted refugees from the Ash Hills. There were some fifty odd refugees, the only survivors of a group of nearly seven hundred that had been relentlessly pursued by two Centuries of Rephaim for almost three days. The refugees were escorted by the adventurers towards Foothold, while one of their number flew to Foothold at speed to warn the populace of the pursuing Rephaim army.

There was a hasty march to the edge of Consociation territory, members of the Order of the Red Falcon, adventurers from the Consociation, and members of the City's Militia, nearly four hundred strong, all marshalled to repel the Rephaim. The Rephaim, for their part, declined to join battle once they saw the assembled forces, and things fell to skirmishing over the next day or so as each side probed at the other. There were very few casualties on each side, though the Knight Valanthe Nailo was slain and a fierce skirmish erupted to claim her body, which the forces of Foothold eventually won.

The Rephaim retreated late on the 8th of Kythorn, and suffered unknown (Though light) casualties. Eight soldiers died on the Consociation's side, the Knight Nailo, her Squire, five militia members, and a junior member of the Consociation. Others were wounded, but not too many.

Gossip says that Alessandro waked from one end of the battlefield to the other, pike held out, and left a line of dead Rephaim in his wake without ever breaking stride.

Are we sure none of the Consociation fighters got infected with some weird poison that'll turn them into an aberration? >.>

In all honesty, from the look of things OOCly I'd speculate that infection MAY involve a compound but most PROBABLY involves a malady of the mind / sanity / both.

Also considering the Rephaim's hateboner for Elves I assume they're either involved in their creation or confine to the Plateau.

Well, given how they referred to the cerebrospinal fluid as this sacred revelatory step, it's clearly a catalyst of some sort but yeah, apparently humans who succumb to despair become edelwood Rephaim.

Given the extra money the Vuln crew have belatedly come into contact with, I'm gonna put Ulfric down for an additional 10 days at a cost of 300 gp.

That means in total (with previous amount) he's now contributing 20 Downtime days at 600 gp, and the 100 gp thrown in for materials. Can someone figure out what the project looks like now?

I did 10 days so there are only 4 left. We need 400 gp more in materials.

Just pointing it out like...idk I don't want to be a glory hound and shit and I know the Level 4's definitely don't need it, but it might be prudent to mix a vet or two in with the completely green groups. Just enough to provide support and let them punch a bit out of their weight class and haul off more loot. It'd help them level up faster and keep things from getting too insular too.

Vets don't really need the money so they probably wouldn't need to take a share or shit (or they could take half-shares and put the rest in the pot) but XP is always good as is Renown and shit.

become edelwood Rephaim.

Nah @TenfoldShields in all honesty a fresh level 3 group with a halfway sane party comp (not like, 5x unarmored fullcasters) can totally take on level 3 dungeons and expeditions. Unless they run into Khamael and go YES LET US FIGHT IT I guess

Considering how the Imunity to sleep is usually only found among those with elfish blood.. We might have a idea how they create there spinal fluid.

Mmm, well, I don't really want to be sinking more money into materials than I am in rebuilding, given that I've had a lack of opportunities to make Renown and my downtime currently isn't useful for anything else, so frankly if my money isn't needed in the Downtime days side of things I'd just as soon not make a second contribution.

I'm fine with that, but I don't really want anyone in the 4 Highest Exp Characters taking a slot in a session for a while, and would like to massively swing in favor of new players and characters for a bit.

yassssss.

Top 5 for XP atm are Alessandro, Genrikh, Ilyana, Mrak-Caw and Jack

Turn to your paladins for tanking in the meantime :V

To repost where we're at right now:

Reclaim Vuln
Downtime Days: 96/100
(10/400gp Jack, 10/300gp Ulfric, 16/640gp Aldrich, 10/250gp Clanless, 20/500gp Genrikh, 20/600gp Rhosyn, 10/350gp Alessandro)
Material Costs: 800/1000gp
(100gp Jack, 100gp Ulfric, 400gp Alessandro, 200gp Genrikh)

So we need 4 more downtime days (probably someone new chipping in for basic rewards) and 200gp in material costs.

Hum. Just to prevent Raise Dead, or... I mean, we noticed that the rephaim were meticulous about burying their dead, earlier. What's up with this?

Fighting over the bodies of important dead people is a feature of medieval combat. When officers, nobles, kings, and the like die on the field being unable to retrieve the body can be a huge hit to morale for the defending force. As such, fights tend to erupt over bodies. In DnD you have the additional factor that bodies are actually a really valuable resource, Speak with Dead lets you interrogate enemy dead, Necromancers can use powerful people for powerful undead, and high-ranking officers and knights may well be rich enough to afford a Raise Dead or Resurrection (Or have someone else purchase one for them).

tl;dr, I'm a history grognard and thought it was a neat detail for historical realism.
