Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail

They've denied every time. Yoshi P lies, yo.
It would literally make no sense to actively deny it instead of not saying anything if it were the actual name. Like, people speculate the next expansion is called Forspoken, Yoshi-P says it's not Forspoken and then.... Yoshi-P says the next expansion is called Forspoken a few months later???

May be overshadowed by the Announcement Showcase next Friday, but Patch 5.45 will be dropping next week as well on Tuesday, with more Bozja, relics, and BLU updates!

you gonna update fuckin lacus litore so people actually run it

13/48, 11/48, 8/48, 12/48, 5/48 i stg

yeah i know theres a discord for it but ffs square you guys had all of eureka to learn this shit

The problem with CLL, is that there's practically no reason to run it more than once. Because SE completely messed up effort/reward ratio.

So, confirmed-

New Expansion is Endwalker, which will drop in 'Fall' (My guess is September)
Paladin is the flagship class this time around
It will end the Hydaelyn/Zodiak story, in 6.0. Patch content will deal with picking up the new story
Will involve going to Ilsabard and Garlemald and the Moon
Radz-at-Han is a new small city like Eulmore, and Thavnair will be a zone
There will be a larger city, which is spoilers
The ruins of Garlemald will also be a zone

2 new classes, one healer and one melee
Healer is Sage, and will be a barrier healer, with healing classes now splitting between barriers and 'pure' healing
Sage's weapon is a quartet of Gundam funnels called Nouliths
Melee will be announced later*
Both will start at 70
Alphinaud will class change to Sage at some point in the story

Level cap go brrrr: 80-90
Role quests are back, although now divided by tank, healer, melee dps, ranged dps, and spellcaster
New dungeons of course (one is speculated to be Corvos, where Zenos' sword teacher came from)
New 8-man raid: Pandemonium (*Kuja screeching*)
New Alliance raid will be an original FF14 story and not a crossover
Estinien will be joining the trust system (as, of course, a dragoon)

Anima from FF10 makes her appearance

There will be some manner of slower content, farm-related, on an abandoned island.
Ishgard housing will be available in 6.1, same number of wards and apartments as other cities
New beast tribe: the matangas (elephant people)
New gold saucer addition, will be as big as mahjong (fan speculation: blitzball?)

Belts are gone, good riddance (Nomura cries in the distance)
There is going to be a stat squish from 50-80, retooling the numbers to prevent system errors
FF14 beta for PS5 will begin 4/13/21, at the same time as 5.5 drops

The commemorative items from fanfest will be THE GOD DAMN LUNAR WHALE FUCK YES as an 8 person mount, and FF4 minions. May 15th

* = Fan speculation on new melee-

Templar/Rune knight class, based on Yoshi's shirt

Hmm

Like the rather simple look of the PLD gear, but I'm not sure of how well Derplanders' head goes with it

Belts are gone, good riddance (Nomura cries in the distance)
Eh, we never saw them to begin with. It'll be like nothing changed

Nothing too unusual in the Live Letter for 5.5, mostly just stuff we can always expect from an X.5 patch and some miscellany, except the unfortunate delay of the 5.5 Ultimate fight to 6.1.

It's been announced as The Dragonsong War (Ultimate), and is ~70% complete, but the COVID delays and complications effectively mean that working on it further would delay Endwalker's own production. Sad to see it happen, but understandable.
