Compared to the previous year, this year was rather quiet.

Welp.

Looks like we're out of time to blow up the leylines. Good job, guys.

It's pretty obvious that we need to participate if we don't want Angra Mainyu to be released. We can probably get into contact with Waver and warn him about it; Iskandar can't conquer the world if it's been destroyed. Even if none of our household becomes a Master, we should have at least one ally in the War, and we can at least provide support. Kiritsugu is probably not the best choice, since he's already cursed. Irisviel is a maybe. Illya is the Second Owner, so she can't really leave Uminari, Shirou might be able to come with Irisviel, although his distortion would put him in serious danger. Maiya is probably a good choice for support, but not as a Master, if one of the household is chosen. Everyone else is not even a consideration.

And we're almost out of resources.

Goddamnit.
We could have someone from TSAB who's living on Earth be a Master. Chrono or Yuuno would work well, though Chrono is probably the better choice due to being a commissioned officer. Having Yuuno be a Master though is nice because he's competent enough to do it well and it gives more of an excuse for Shirou to be close enough to the action to get some Noble Phantasms recorded in UBW, but not close enough that he'll actually be in danger.

We're in a better position on resources than we were last year. Remember that mundane jobs seem to improve their output each time we work on them.

Fair enough. We do have more support than I estimated. The Grail doesn't seem to be particularly discerning about who it picks as Masters, and I didn't realize that mundane jobs increase their output. We still need to get on that Tohno contract, though, just to avoid the disaster that letting Tsukihime play out might be.

If you look back at the adult voting for this year, Irisviel's resource output from her manga was 2-4 resources, compared to giving 1-3 resources last year.

Guys, I got it. A plan for the grail war that gives us very a high chance for a good outcome, has tons of potential for future hilarity, and is reasonable enough that we can probably pull it off.

Let's make Yuuno summon Tamamo no Mae as a Servant (the playable Caster from Fate/Extra) and then form an alliance with Waver. Having a Caster and Iskandar on the same team is an incredibly strong combination, and there won't be any arguments between the Servants over who gets the grail because Tamamo doesn't even want it in the first place. That leads to the source of future hilarity, which is that pretty much regardless of who summons her, Tamamo essentially becomes a yandere for her Master. She doesn't want the grail because her wish is to be her Master's waifu (regardless of her Master's gender).

We're already in Japan, so finding a summoning catalyst shouldn't be unreasonably difficult, and I don't see any major arguments breaking out between Yuuno and Waver.

A Caster could probably also help fix Illya's body. In particular, Tamamo is a shapeshifter, so she's probably even more useful.

It was only when they learned who her father was, the Magus Killer, that they decided to cut their losses completely.

Still didn't help them when you hunted them down to make sure they didn't spread word of your location.
Screwed with the wrong kid there
Granted, this did provide a couple ideas. The first was to alter Illya's circuits so that they could force her to grow normally, even if it would take some time to research the circuits so that they wouldn't kill her in the process of altering them. The second idea related to a True Magic, Heaven's Feel, and simply using it to force her into another body to grow that way.
Huh, Grail War motivation found.

Read my earlier post. I suggested having Yuuno summon her and gave reasons why.

Well, there's also Caster from Prototype: Fragments of Blue and Silver. I found him while exploring the Wiki. He's probably a better choices.

His name is Paracelsus and in Typemoon, is well known as the one who created both of the current Alchemic System and Azoth Sword.

Needless to say, he is also an expert at homunculi. An Average One as well. And being who he is, is VERY good at Healing Magecraft.

Edit: BTW, shapehift only work on the one who has it.

Due to the buildup of prana in Fuyuki, with there being four Holy Grail Wars with no winners and the last one having twice as many servants as normal for some reason, the fifth one was due to start fifty-five years early. Already, Lord El-Melloi II had summoned Iskander the Great as Saber, who had no qualms of announcing his identity to the world before the two of them were tossed out of the Clock Tower and told to come back after the Grail War. Others would likely be summoning Servants in the coming year; in fact, Topher Joiner is eager to summon his Servant, and promises to pay a deposit for the mansion in the likely case of damage before the War starts.

Tamamo is way funnier though, Yuuno dealing with a yandere. Its also probably a lot easier to find a relic related to Tamamo no Mae in Japan than it is to find one related to Paracelsus.

I'm aware that shapeshift only works on the user, but it might be able to give her the perspective needed to look at the problem of Illya's body from another angle.

Also, we should plan around the expectation that there will be at least one Servant under the control of the Einzbern-Testarossa alliance.

On a more serious note, I'm with whatever plan that involves backing up Waver and Iskander.

Unless one of our own is a master, of course

Rather than a Yandere, I would say that Tamamo is more of an aspiring devoted housewife. Too bad Yuuno is currently too young for that.

I doubt age would stop Tamamo. Waiting a few years probably isn't too big a deal to her. Also, letting Tamamo enter aspiring waifu mode means that we've got a friendly Caster who isn't interested in the grail, which means that we can team up with Waver and Iskandar without any infighting over who gets to keep the grail at the end.

Year 5: Decision for the Grail
Year 5: Decision for the Grail

The last year was relatively peaceful. Sure, there were moments of conflict, but compared to a little time over a year ago, it was relatively tame. Illya became the Second Owner of Uminari, Shirou made a friend, Taiga focused on her studies, Irisviel made another manga, Maiya translated the manga, and you taught classes about the Moonlit World to refugees who might otherwise bite off more than they could chew.

Of course, there was something you forgot.

You had completely forgotten about the Fuyuki Holy Grail.

The Holy Grail War, the hell that you and most of the family had delved into four years ago, some accidentally and some intentionally, was starting again. The war that had turned Fuyuki to rubble, taking many lives and ruining others.

You don't have a wish, really, but you could take advantage of it.

Illyasviel, your eldest biological daughter, has had her growth slow to a crawl, or possibly even stop completely. If you got the right kind of help, you could fix that.

There were normally seven classes of Heroic Spirits summoned in the Grail War, being Saber, Archer, Lancer, Rider, Berserker, Assassin, and Caster. It was the last class that interested you, the class that could create mysteries that were beyond mortal magi of this age. With the magecraft they could provide, you could bypass the need of the Grail and just get Illya healed.

But the Holy Grail War was not something to be taken lightly. It was always a slaughter. In the past four wars, there have been no winners (except perhaps your Saber of the last War, and even that was questionable with the beast that had appeared being reduced to a black spike embedded in the ground). Non-combatants were preyed on almost more often than the contestants, and there could only be one winner.

And even then, the Grail chose participants based on desire for the wish it provided. If you didn't get chosen, you would have to play your cards very carefully in order to steal the prize.

If someone entered the War, there was no guarantee that they'd come out alive. In fact, it was more likely that they'd wind up dead.

There was also the not-small issue of the fact that Angra Mainyu, the Zoroastrianism God of Evil, had corrupted the Grail, so that any wish that was granted to the victor would cause untold devastation to the world.

Fortunately, no one in the family seems to have any desire for the Grail to grant right now, but that could change if you could convince someone to be interested.

Still, with at least one Servant already summoned, it might be a good idea to decide if you want to get involved in the Fifth Grail War. If you did, you would likely have less time for other things you might want to do, but you would be prepared if you were dragged into the War anyway.

The Einzbern, Tohsaka, and Matou families always have a representative involved, three long lines of Magi. Lord El-Melloi II has been chosen as the Clock Tower's representative, and Topher Joiner has expressed interest in the Grail War, leaving three uncertains and two complete unknowns you'd be going up against, and one of them was a veteran of the Fourth War. And then there was the matter of the insane priest and the two surviving Servants of the Fourth War, as well, if they decided to get involved.

Despite that, do you still want to get involved?

Topher Joiner would not likely take kindly to having his residence intruded upon during the War, even if you are renting to him. Luckily, you can contact a few people to set up places to hide in the War.
(Benefit: Gain three 'bases' for a half-dozen people each during the war)

[X] Catalyst Hunt
-[X] Catalyst Hunt: Kiritsugu
-[X] Catalyst Hunt: Maiya
One does not need a catalyst to summon a Servant. However, it influences the likelihood of a specific Servant being summoned. By going out to get a hold of certain catalysts, not only would you force people to summon by compatibility (or rather, summon the Servant that is most like the Master, which could cause some backfiring match-ups if you steal the right catalyst), but also provide options for whoever you support in the Grail War.
--[X] Catalyst: (Write-In; Note that certain catalysts may require resources to acquire)

[X] Training for the War
-[X] Training for the War: Kiritsugu (Magecraft and Mundane)
-[X] Training for the War: Irisviel (Magecraft Combat)
-[X] Training for the War: Maiya (Mundane)
Whoever is going into the War is going to be walking into a slaughter. It would be a good idea to train whoever is going in so that they have a chance of walking out.
(Benefit: Those going into Grail War are less likely to perish, who is doing the training will influence how the selected are going in)

[X] Community Connections
-[X] Community Connections: Kiritsugu
-[X] Community Connections: Irisviel

Last war, you could count on the support of the Einzbern family and the Fujimura Yakuza to assist you during the war. While you have lost the support of the Einzbern family, the Fujimura Yakuza would likely be willing to lend a hand, and some of your neighbors would also likely help out.
(Benefit: Allies to assist during the Grail War, more turns for this year)

[X] The Ideal Master
-[X] The Ideal Master: Kiritsugu
-[X] The Ideal Master: Irisviel
-[X] The Ideal Master: Maiya
By speaking with someone, you might be able to convince them to desire the Grail and get the Grail to choose them. Irisviel also knows some special magecraft to create a place for Command Seals to go on the body of the chosen, increasing the odds of selection. Of course, selling the idea of the Grail would have to be handled carefully in order for it to work, and if you aren't careful you could wind up with the community hating you.

[X] Swift Summoning
-[X] Swift Summoning: Kiritsugu
-[X] Swift Summoning: Irisviel
-[X] Swift Summoning: Maiya
By summoning sooner, one is more likely to attain the Servant they want in the class they desire. The trade off is that the later summons have more power than the earlier summons. By hurrying the summons, one can get the Servant quickly, and get more time to get to know them. And to you, strength doesn't matter; after all, you made a living taking down the strong.
(Benefit: Earlier summons of Servant)

[X] Unique Ideas (Write-In)
Perhaps there is another idea that could be beneficial to the war effort.

Shared:
(Shared Plans can be selected by the voters for one of the adults to do.)
(In order for a Shared Plan to be accepted, it must beat at least one of the top two Plans for the available adults)
(If a Shared Plan is accepted, the majority of the chosen adult will go through with it and have it replace their second-greatest counted Plan)

[X] The Talk
- [X] The Talk: Kiritsugu
- [X] The Talk: Irisviel
Illya is supposed to be growing up, Shirou IS growing up, and it might be past time for them to learn how the world works. It is about time for… the Talk.
(Benefit: ???)

[X] Cooking
- [X] Cooking: Kiritsugu
- [X] Cooking: Irisviel
- [X] Cooking: Maiya
Shirou spends a lot of time in the kitchen, and, face it, as things stand now you need him in the kitchen. By having an adult learn how to cook, they could not only take on some of the burden, but also get Shirou out of the kitchen for some fresh air.
(Cost: 1 Resource) (Benefit: +3 Cooking for selected adult)

[o] A Deal With the Puppetmaster
- [o] A Deal With the Puppetmaster: Kiritsugu
- [o] A Deal With the Puppetmaster: Irisviel
- [o] A Deal With the Puppetmaster: Maiya
Trying to fix Illyasviel's body by yourselves is going to be slow and risky. By speaking with the right people, you might be able to cut some of the time and risk out. Of course, this won't come without a price of its own… and try not to hyperventilate at the cost.
(Cost: 25 Resources) (Benefit: A puppet body for Illya, reducing risk and time needed for research to fix Illya's body)

[X] The Changed Uminari
- [X] The Changed Uminari: Kiritsugu
- [X] The Changed Uminari: Irisviel
- [X] The Changed Uminari: Maiya
Over the past couple of years, there has been a large power shift in Uminari. By going around and speaking with people, one can learn just what changes there have been in the city, and considering Illya's position, expanding that net would likely be very beneficial.
(Benefit: -2 Upkeep this year, Information about Uminari)

Kiritsugu Emiya's Plans for the Year: (Choose 2)

[X] Kiritsugu: Never Again
From the rumors you are hearing, even if you blew up the Fuyuki leylines now, it would be too late to stop the Fifth Grail War from taking place next year. At least you can make sure there isn't a Sixth.
(Cost: 3 Resources, 1 Time) (Benefit: ???)

[X] Kiritsugu: Nuking the Grail
The Fuyuki Greater Grail is the cause of the Grail Wars. You have three magical girls who are either in your family or are friendly to you, another that now can be reasoned with, a vigilante team with powerful mystic codes that you can speak with, and a significant number of refugees that are used to magic. By throwing all your fire-power at the Grail, not only could you short-circuit the fifth Grail War to prevent it from occurring, but also prevent all future Grail Wars in Fuyuki.
(Cost: 3 Resources, ???) (Benefit: Fuyuki Greater Grail Destroyed)

[o] Kiritsugu: Target: Einzbern
An Einzbern is always a Master in the Grail War, and since neither Illya or Irisviel are Masters, it is a safe bet that one of them in Germany is a Master. And that means they'll likely have a Servant.
(Cost: 2 Resources, 1 Time) (Benefit: ???)

[X] Kiritsugu: Target: Tohno
You are confused as to how this particular request got into your files, addressed to you directly, but it seems that someone really wants the Tohno head dead for some reason. The base reward is questionable, a small amount compared to normal assassinations… but the final reward is whatever treasures you can loot from the mansion, and… a marriage contract for Shirou?!? The only people off-limits to kill are the maids and the heiress. Finally, there's even a detailed map of the Tohno mansion…
(Cost: 2 Resources, 1 Time) (Benefit: 40% Death; If survive, 60% Tohno head dead, 1+2d6 Resources, Marriage Contract to Shirou if Tohno dead)

[X] Kiritsugu: Target: Tohno Family
Someone else wants the Tohno line ended. Completely. The current head, the heiress, the hidden heir in the basement, most of the servants, and all of the Tohno relatives with a direct bloodline to the Tohno. All of them dead. The base reward is questionable, a small amount compared to normal assassinations, but the final reward is what catches your eyes: whatever that can be looted from the mansion, and a marriage contract for Shirou. However, how the contract is to be enforced when the person to be married to Shirou is on the kill list is a question that needs to be answered.
(Cost: 4 Resources, 2 Time) (Benefit: 50% Death; If survive, % of Tohno family dead, 1+2d6 Resources)

[X] Kiritsugu: Hitman for Hire
The neighbors would disapprove, but you could possibly kill a few someones that are causing someone else trouble. You just need to take the relatively safe contracts.
(Cost: 1% chance of death on job) (Benefit: Work as an Assassin, +6 Resources)

[X] Kiritsugu: Return of the Magus Killer
The neighbors won't like it, but you can return to your old job to bring an income. There is likely some dark magus in Japan that might be better off dead just waiting for an opportunity to prey on the innocent.
(Cost: 1 Time, 1 Resource, 20% chance of death on job) (Benefit: Work as an Assassin, +10 Resources)

[X] Kiritsugu: Dreams? Or Something More?
There's these odd dreams… perhaps delving into them and understanding them could be useful.
(Benefit: Learn of these odd dreams, Stay at home more, choose one option)
-[X] Dream: A small town in the sky, where a hero in green goes to the surface beneath the clouds and fights against… Saber.
-[X] Dream: A series of girls interacting with Lancer and a catlike creature that seems too familiar.
-[X] Dream: This seems familiar… is it Fuyuki before it was destroyed? Wait, is that a teenage Shirou? And why did the spearman kill him?!?
-[X] Dream: A land of steel waits in your dreams… a land where the world is dead, but its children live on in defiance of its last wish.

[X] Kiritsugu: Kiritsugu's Mundane Job (Write-In)
Surely you can find a mundane job in the world you can do. Right? Right? (Write-In Job)
(Benefit: Possible Mundane Work, +3 Resources or +1 Resource, Stay at home more)

[X] Kiritsugu: Hobbyist (Write-In Hobby)
You could take up a mundane hobby. People get paid for doing their hobbies all the time. How hard could it be? (Write-In Hobby)
(Cost: 1 Resource) (Benefit: Opens opportunities, stay at home more)

[X] Kiritsugu: Magecraft Training
Shirou is close to reaching his limits with his magecraft, and is performing things with his magecraft you never thought you'd see a magus do. Taiga is also mildly interested, but with Ruby, she is willing to pass on learning more, even if it is her last year here in Uminari before she goes to college. By working with Shirou, you could give new avenues for him to go down, working with Taiga would give her abilities that could be useful in what she is viewing as a side-job, and Illya seems to focus on magecraft with projecting wires in certain shapes and could use some less obvious leanings. Who knows, you might actually learn something yourself teaching them.
(Cost: 1 Time) (Benefit: Taiga and Kiritsugu's Magecraft +1, children's magecraft has assassin leanings)

[X] Kiritsugu: Illya's Body
It would be a long process to research how to alter Illya's magic circuits to allow her to grow normally without risking her dying. You could get started.
(Benefit: Increase Success of Illya living through operation by 5% when operation occurs)

[X] Kiritsugu: Demon Hunter
You need Grief Seeds in order to not 'Witch-out', it seems, and a series of demons drop these 'Grief Seeds'. By searching and going out, you can hunt these demons, putting the people they came from out of their misery, make the places you visit safer, and obtain Grief Seeds. Because of your focus on one area a couple of years ago, you'll have to spend more in order to achieve the same results. (If Desperate Times, Desperate Measures is also chosen, Time Costs are instead halved (Minimum of 1, Round Up))
(Cost: 2 Resource) (Benefit: No Time cost or Upkeep this year)

[X] Kiritsugu: The Bloody Past of the Magus Killer
Shirou sees you as a hero. While that may be true now, you were anything but in your youth. By telling him stories of what you have done, you may be able to remove him from the path that will put him like how you almost ended up.
(Benefit: Stays at home more, Shirou's Distortion reduces, Shirou's Underworld Knowledge +1)

[X] Kiritsugu: Desperate Times, Desperate Measures
There is too much for you to do. Perhaps burning what little life force you have left will allow you to get everything you need done.
(Cost: 2 Time) (Benefit: Choose 2 other options for Kiritsugu, indented under this choice)

[X] Kiritsugu: The Family Man
You are on a timer until your death. Perhaps it would be nice to simply relax with your family.
(Benefit: stay at home more, connect with neighbors more easily, -1 Upkeep this year)

[X] Kiritsugu: Other Plans (Write-In)

Irisviel von Einzbern's Plans for the Year: (Choose 2)

[X] Irisviel: Guaranteed Psychiatrist
Shirou has a significant problem, putting others before himself, and only taking care of himself when no others would be in danger. It was only by taking him to a Psychiatrist against his will that it was discovered just how deeply his problem went. It will take years for him to get over this problem.
(Cost: 1 Resource) (Benefit: Stays at home more, weakens Shirou's Distortion, Shirou's Influence +1)

[X] Irisviel: Creating a Point of Attachment
Shirou has a heavy distortion, one that might get him killed if it is not dealt with. Furthermore, Irisviel knows that she won't be in his life forever. While Shirou might supposed to be a harem protagonist, so many ties might not be beneficial to him. Directing Shirou to a single girl to get him to spend time with her may be a better idea.
(Benefit: Extra introduction for Shirou, or additional time spent with someone for Shirou, Irisviel stays at home more)

[X] Irisviel: Driving Lessons
She drives well… but if she's going to drive long-term in Japan, she's going have to spend a lot of time practicing to drive properly. You don't need to spend millions of Yen on parking fines and driving violations!
(Cost: 1 Resource) (Benefit: Opens opportunities for her, stays at home more)

[X] Irisviel: Reality Marble?
In the middle of the Jewel Seed Conflict, a Jewel Seed reacted… poorly to Shirou, and got embedded in him. If Irisviel can speak with the TSAB and get permission from both them and Shirou, the matter could be explored further.
(Benefit: Information, Irisviel stays at home more)

[X] Irisviel: Mundane Job (Write-in job)
Working on a manga series might be nice, but variety is the spice of life. Another job might be more useful, right? (Write-in job choice)
(Benefit: Possible Mundane Work, +3 Resources or +1 Resource, Stay at home more)

[X] Irisviel: Mangaka
The last manga she produced was a success across the ocean. Perhaps another love story would be beneficial?
(Benefit: Mundane Work, +4 Resources or +3 Resources, Stay at home more, +1 Drawing)
-[X] Mangaka: Write-In a kind of manga?

[X] Irisviel: Hobby of the Einzbern (Write-In Hobby)
Now that Irisviel is away from the castle, she has some freedom in what activities to pursue. Perhaps there is one she is interested in? (Write-In Hobby choice)
(Cost: 1 Resource) (Benefit: Opens opportunities, stay at home more)

[X] Irisviel: Magecraft Training
There is little more that Irisviel can teach the older children, and the younger children are too young for Magecraft. The biggest exception is Taiga, who is leaving home at the end of the year, and could have her Magecraft worked on.
(Benefit: Taiga Magecraft +1, Irisviel stays at home more, children's magecraft has Einzbern leanings)

[X] Irisviel: Illya's Body
Due to being part Homunculus, certain modifications were made to Illya's body while she was still being carried in Irisviel. These modifications are now being witnessed as Illya's growth into a woman is starting to slow to a crawl before they truly get underway. Researching ideas to alter the modifications so that they stop interfering with Illya's growth would likely be beneficial.
(Benefit: Increase Success of Illya living through operation by 5% when operation occurs)

[X] Irisviel: The Dotting Mother
There is something to be said in just spending time with the family Irisviel is in. Of course, this gives the perfect opportunity to take care of the children and connect with the neighbors.
(Benefit: stay at home more, connect with neighbors more easily, -1 Upkeep this year)

[X] Irisviel: Other Plans (Write-In)

Maiya Hisau's Plans for the Year: (Choose 2)

[X] Maiya: English Translator (Legal)
If Irisviel makes another manga, Maiya could translate it again to increase profits overseas. If she doesn't, Maiya could instead serve as a translator for other mangas and be on hand if someone needs something translated.
(Benefit: stay at home more, +2-3 Resources)

[X] Maiya: English Translator (Illegal)
A few contacts of the Fujimura Yakuza say that a few of their contacts are good at smuggling contraband into countries, but they haven't had the patience to learn the local language of Japan. Maiya would be well paid to help make sure that there is no miscommunication between people.
(Cost: Personal Risk if Yakuza exposed again, poorer relations with neighbors) (Benefit: +3-4 Resources)

[X] Maiya: Illegal Immigrants
It has occurred to Taiga and a few members of the Fujimura Yakuza that have been paying attention that most of the refugees from Mid-Childa don't have legal identification for Japan. If the TSAB slipped up and they got caught by the mundane government, there could be problems that could have been avoided. By creating citizenships and forcing them into the system, the problem of the refugees can be cut out. As a bonus, Maiya could also bring an income this way.
(Cost: Personal Risk and National Attention if Yakuza exposed again) (Benefit: +2-3 Resources)

[X] Maiya: A New Job (Write-In)
There are plenty of jobs out there, and while Maiya has no experience with a normal job, it might be a good idea for her to get one. (Write-in job choice)
(Benefit: Possible Mundane Work, +3 Resources or +1 Resource, Maiya stays at home more)

[X] Maiya: Underworld Teachings
There is a darker world beneath the surface, one where the standard laws don't apply. Maiya wishes to teach Taiga, Shirou, and Illya of this world so that they can either enter it prepared or know what to look for to stay out of it.
(Benefit: Maiya, Illya, Taiga, and Shirou Underworld Knowledge +1, Maiya stays at home more, children prepared for Yakuza Ruler job)

[o] Maiya: Target: Einzbern
An Einzbern is always a Master in the Grail War, and since neither Illya or Irisviel are Masters, it is a safe bet that one of them in Germany is a Master. And that means they'll likely have a Servant.
(Cost: 2 Resources) (Benefit: ???; Can work with Kiritsugu to improve odds)

[X] Maiya: Target: Tohno
Kiritsugu has received a contract to kill the head of the Tohno Clan. It has the potential to be very lucrative, if he has enough hands to help him survive the attack and enough hands to carry the possessions that will make the kill look like an accident amid a theft.
(Can only be done if Kiritsugu does Target: Tohno or Target: Tohno Family)
(Benefit: Improve Odds of Success and Rewards)

[X] Maiya: A New Hobby (Write-In)
There might be a hobby that catches Maiya's eyes. Now that she's in a family that is trying to be normal, it might be a good idea to try it. (Write-In Hobby choice)
(Cost: 1 Resource) (Benefit: Opens opportunities, stay at home more)

[X] Maiya: Practical Magecraft
Not all magecraft is big and flashy. Sometimes, it is the smaller, less seen effects that make the most impact. By teaching the children some of the hidden uses, they might be able to use magecraft subtly, possibly even in public places without drawing attention.
(Benefit: Taiga and Maiya Magecraft +1, Maiya stays at home more, children's magecraft has mundane utility leanings)

[X] Maiya: Hitwoman
There is always someone who needs someone else dead. By fulfilling contracts to kill certain people, Maiya would likely be able to bring in some money for food.
(Cost: 1% chance of death on job) (Benefit: Work as an Assassin, +6 Resources)

[X] Maiya: Hero Untraining
Shirou has a few heroic leanings. Normally, this wouldn't be too big of a problem, but normally a potential hero doesn't consider sacrificing himself to save more people. By running Shirou through a few thought exercises, perhaps she could dissuade some of his personality to become something less self-sacrificing.
(Benefit: Stays at home more, weakens Shirou's Distortion, Shirou's Underworld Knowledge +1)

[X] Maiya: The New Mother
Maiya has gone from one conflict to another. Perhaps it is time for her to take a long break and interact with the kids, and see if you can get some food from one of the other families.
(Benefit: stay at home more, connect with neighbors more easily, -1 Upkeep this year)

[X] Maiya: Other Plans (Write-In)

Tamamo is way funnier though, Yuuno dealing with a yandere. Its also probably a lot easier to find a relic related to Tamamo no Mae in Japan than it is to find one related to Paracelsus.

It wasn't that hard finding catalyst for Paracelcus. Just use Azoth Sword, a Book about Alchemy preferably written by him, and either Irisveil or Illya (homunculus).

Tamamo will probably need a shard of sesshouseki. One can argue that is harder than Paracelcus catalyst.

But yeah, Tamamo will certainly provides more fun. With her seducing a shota....

[X] Yes
- [X] War: Kiritsugu: 2 Actions
- [X] War: Maiya: 1 Action

Iri would be heavily occupied with home stuff, but of the Master candidates...I suspect Shirou already has enough of a wish and catalyst to enter even if we do nothing.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Right. Out of my sytem now. So. As far as I can tell, we have two options: nuking the Grail, which instantly makes us an enemy of anybody who wanted it, and participating in the War, which has the potential of killing off one or more members of our household.

If we decide to participate, we'll want to throw as many actions as possible at it, without sabotaging everything else. We'll want Caster, so we should find a catalyst and summon early; we should also put in several actions towards training, and one towards getting a base. That doesn't leave many actions for other things. We could potentially take out the Einzbern Master early, but our goal isn't exactly to win the Grail, so I don't see the point unless they're particularly hostile towards us. Information would be useful, but we have limited actions and more important things to spend them on. We need to get in touch with Waver, before he and Iskandar get too invested into the War to stop. For a Master, we discussed this earlier, but we'll want to go over this further. We should pick someone with strong magical and physical capability, and who also is capable of taking on the mindset of a magus: that is, "to be a magus is to walk with death". If they can't kill or defend themselves, they can't participate, which cuts down on our options. Also, they have to have a strong wish, even while knowing the true nature of the Grail. As for a Servant, one who is capable of fixing Illya would be ideal. I heard strong arguments for both Tamamo and Paracelsus earlier, so I'll leave that up to you guys. Dealing with Touko is not even under consideration, I mean seriously, that's ridiculously expensive and we'll never be able to afford it until we have more working adults, at least. I might be missing something. If so, tell me and I'll see if I can go over it later.

If we decide not to participate, things become a lot easier. We just nuke the Grail and go on our merry way, having made enemies of all of the visiting maguses, plus the Clocktower. Might not be the best idea; on the other hand, they might be too intimidated to try to come after us. We probably won't get a chance to explain the corruption within the Grail. We still have to deal with Illya's problem, and Touko is still not an option. If we decide to do this, we can take care of the Tohno family head this year, and do the rest of our normal operations. That Maiya: Hero Untraining option looks tempting.

In regards to the grail war, here's some ideas I've got. Work in progress, of course. Yuuno works great as a Master, and Tamamo is a great choice of Servant due to being a friendly Caster and it not at all being suspicious for a family living in Japan to search for artifacts related to a figure from Japanese mythology.

[x] Catalyst Hunt
--[x] Catalyst: (Write-In; Note that certain catalysts may require resources to acquire)
---[x] Something related to the Japanese mythological figure Tamamo no Mae

[x] The Ideal Master
--[x] Target Master: (Yuuno Scrya)
---[x] Speech (Full or just the key points, Write-In, full will make it more likely)
----[x] He's an archeologist, and the grail war gives him an unparalleled chance to study a variety of ancient artifacts and myths.
----[x] His specialization in defensive magecraft synergizes well with the fact that the majority of the combat should be conducted by the summoned Servant.
----[x] Midchildan mages seem to generally have a significantly larger prana capacity than Earth's mages, and he's way better at subtlety than most of the Midchildan mages who are familiar with Earth.
----[x] Having him be the Master means that Kiritsugu and Maiya can work from the shadows to undermine the other Masters.

Despite them being a massive threat, the Einzberns aren't much of an unknown at all due to us knowing that they have Precia Testarossa as an ally.

Edit:
I think I found the big lingering threat that the OP said we never noticed.
with the beast that had appeared being reduced to a black spike embedded in the ground
Demise, the Legend of Zelda equivalent of Satan, is still around from the previous war!

Uh.

Um.

Pardon me a moment.

Calm down. Calm down. Don't panic.
Come on. Don't panic, it's just a... malevolent demon king.
A malevolent demon king capable of cursing random people who fit certain attributes throughout eternity, even after his death, from which he can be revived.

Even worse, in Nasu terms he could qualify as a Divine Spirit................and he's in the same place as Angra Mainyu.............

Remember, this is a guy whose sword qualifies as a Servant.

Edit:
@Random Tale
Any way for us to figure out enough info quickly enough for us to throw Demise at Type-Saturn before Demise's seal breaks?
