Esquestria: The House of the Sun - A pony cultist experience

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
Dear reader! Whether you are new here, archive-reading and whatnot, or you are already someone who has been with us for quite a while, I would like to say a few words that I believe are best kept close to mind.

-This is an MLP quest. And more importantly, none of us are gratuitously cruel. So good things will happen on this quest, and I hope that enough good things have already happened to prove that.
-This is also a horror quest, so bad things will happen. Bad things might happen to good characters if you are not able to protect them, and you most certainly will not be able to intervene if you lack the tools to do so.
-And finally, this is a quest in which you jostle with powers greater than yourself, with all that it entails.

Please, do keep those things in mind as you go forward. But ultimately, this is also a quest in which it is hoped we all have fun! So if any of the above points is not exactly your cup of tea, or somehow make the experience as a whole "not worth it", then this quest might not be for you. Which is fine! Individual tastes are a thing, so don't think any more about it if you don't want to read anymore. And regardless, I hope you have a lovely day!

PSA for whoever needs to hear it:

Readers should take their own mental health into consideration when voting and not subject themselves to triggering narrative elements like rape or constant mental torture of a friend just for the Greatest Good of a world that doesn't exist.

If those are fine for you or Regrettable is even more triggering, then GREAT! More power to you. But you aren't a bad or selfish person for picking the option that keeps the characters you've emotionally connected with safe. [REDACTED for spoiler warning]

This is a high intensity quest that doesn't hold back when it comes to horror and negative consequences. Take care of yourself.

I'd say reading and the forges redemption maybe?

I wouldnt mind making a deal with Dull Glass myself. Or otherwise sabotaging the cult. If were not gonna try and grail bomb them.
Right, and also maybe anything to do in Canterlot if we get called there, SH Sacrament, maybe whatever the Master wants if it's feasible…
...though... I don't remember if we can have Storm learn from our books for the first level
Maybe after the first lesson?

If we make a Risen out of the changeling instead of sacrificing them to summon the DOA that will be another action.
technically nothings stops us from doing both. Unless they've been "used" (if you'll pardon the word. You know what I mean) already, there's supposed to be 3 changeling prisoners after all
If we're lucky, teaching Stormchaser more about the Lores + the living example of Twilight may change his mind about it. If we're not, we'll just have to suck it up and Leash him, because if teaching him about the Lores and outright showing him an example of the Lores healing someone isn't enough to convince him, I don't think much will.

especially if we use on Twilight the exact same ritual we'd use on Selene.

If we do an Incision, with him present and helping (improvised cadre?), and then tell him this is the same ritual we'd want to use on Selene, but only after a success...

It could work.

Either that, or we use it on US instead, if Twilight doesn't have a mental wound.

The children need to learn.

Soft Sweeps especially is going to need help keeping despair at bay.
I think Soft isn't quite ready for this right now.

Speaking of the master.

We have a large uncalled favor from Starry. Hopefully somebody springs her.

And maybe we should request another boon from the master.

Since we got them a fucking feast this turn.

Those brownie points will rapidly depreciate once we leave the cult.

And maybe we can reach out to those who aren't just at confidant level...

Friendship is a scale after all.

Our uncle is an obvious example.

But learn she must. And learn she will if it will let her save those dear to her. This time.
She's still recovering from her trauma, I'm actually not sure teaching her will be an option next turn.

We'll see, I suppose.

Oh. Thats... well that's something.

that it is. still, we still have a bit of time before choosing. and for all we know... maybe Windy already did something to/with them, or plans to do so next turn.

Again, we'll see.

Those take another action, unless you've got something specific you want?
And isnt that a scary question?

The strongest influence we can manage?

Them doing something for us personally?

Have them order the cult to do something on our behalf?

I dont rightly know, but they are the master. Surely they can offer something worth while?

Hell maybe we should let them pick :V

Edit:
@Pittauro shes part of the "family" glob thing now isnt she?

I kinda wish we could just… ask for an Artifact or something. Celestia would have given us a Level Five that one time if we hadn't turned her down, and we hadn't done nearly as much for her as we have the Master.

But then, the Master probably doesn't have a vault full of ancient and powerful artifacts just lying around.

Well their body is the woods right?

Who knows what they might be saving for a rainy day?

Or even their own limbs...

…We should ask for the best Moth artifact they can give. Watch them shed their own hair or wings or something and fashion a cloak from it that makes us super invisible or something.

"A wooden doll in the semblance of a bat winged pony."

"To be kept: in a clot of hair, in a bandage, in a box, in a place we visit only when we are ready."

Oh man, an artifact of that level would be so handy right now. Could give us a scrap, pump up our confidantes' usefulness, do some weird esoteric things, etc, etc, what were we thinking turning that down?

That we really didn't deserve to take something as reward for using Celestia and her guards to our own ends. For just trying to fix the harm we had already caused Luna. And that making her like us more could be more useful in the future than a single artifact.

Maybe if we get called to Canterlot again and overachieve (again) we'll get offered another boon :V

Free Knock 5 artifact when?

Just the moth fruit and Selenes moth lesson left...

Were not going to feed Selene the fruit I hope?

Though we will have to...

We told her it was okay to lie. And then we stopped lying to ponies!

I am sure that's very confusing for the poor girl!

Hmm… random thought, but we don't know how to summon the Master. That got Mothed away or whatever. So I have to wonder, is there a way to learn that knowledge still? Maybe they're somewhere in the depths of the Woods, perhaps behind a Sacrament or something. Maybe the fruit will have it. Or maybe we just can't manage it at all.

Not like it matters anyways. They're already present, and a Name can ignore the bindings if they really want to. But it's still an interesting thought.
